Yes, We have No Seeds By John Steele

I remember my grandmother telling me about the Victory Gardens people had during World War I and II. Well, many people are turning back to that, but there is one problem: seeds:
  http://archive.vn/L9K6d

I have heard that the hardware shops in Oz are restricting the sale of seeds. This does not surprise me, since this is already being done by the monopoly sellers in America, and whatever bad that happens there, always migrates here like … well a plague:

Letter to The Editor - The virus and subsequent economic implications have also emphasised the need to be independent

Sent to Advertiser and Country papers

Dear Editor
The impact of the Covid 19 virus has reached every corner of society’s activities.  It has revealed some practices which could be changed to provide a benefit even beyond the current dilemma. A good deal of office computer work can be done at home.  The employee can receive work to be done and return it by email to the office.  This would reduce the need for travel to work by car or public transport providing immediate relief from traffic and parking problems. Another gain would be less emissions.  One day per week at the office would allow for personal interchange if necessary. The virus and subsequent economic implications have also emphasised the need to be independent and this applies from the individual right through to the State and nation.  We have become too dependent on foreign countries in all areas.  Problems have arisen when we depend on them to supply our needs and when they can no longer access our products.  The remedy will involve reconsideration of Australia’s commitment to schemes like the Lima Agreement (Agenda 21 etc) where we agree to allow our industries to go off-shore to assist developing nations.  Trade Agreements can have a similar effect. The negative side of globalisation has been clearly exposed.  Will we take heed?

Yours faithfully

Build More Dams Day By Viv Forbes

21 March 2020

24 million Australians are told to wash their hands thoroughly several times a day. Imagine the water demand – say 25 litres per person per day just for hand washing, taking total household usage to maybe 60 litres per person per day. For 24 million of us that could amount to 1,400 Ml per day - enough to empty the giant Lake Eucumbene in a few days. Greens celebrate Sunday 22nd March as World Water Day. Let’s make it “Build More Dams Day” and announce new dams and weirs NOW, with guaranteed money and start dates.

Go Ahead and Make My Day! Killer Asteroid Future Deep Impact By Brian Simpson

Take a well-earnt break from being terrified of diseases and look up to the starry skies above, one of the two great mysteries of the universe that the philosopher Kant (1724-1804) identified. The other one is the moral depths within. Whatever was he thinking, or drinking?

“NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) is currently tracking a massive asteroid that’s expected to approach the planet next month. According to the data collected by the agency, the approaching asteroid is big enough to destroy the planet during an impact event. CNOES identified the incoming asteroid as 52768 (1998 OR2). As noted by the agency, this asteroid is currently moving at a speed of almost 20,000 miles per hour. It has an estimated diameter of 4.1 kilometers, which is equivalent to 13,451 feet. This makes the asteroid longer than the Hollywood Walk of Fame. According to NASA, 52768 (1998 OR2) is an Amor asteroid. Although Amors are not Earth-crossing asteroids such as Apollos, they can still approach Earth from dangerous distances. Due to its natural orbit and massive size, 52768 (1998 OR2) has been classified as a potentially hazardous asteroid. “Potentially hazardous asteroids are currently defined based on parameters that measure the asteroid’s potential to make threatening close approaches to the Earth,” NASA stated. “Specifically, all asteroids with a minimum orbit intersection distance of 0.05 [astronomical units] or less and an absolute magnitude of 22.0 or less are considered [potentially hazardous asteroids],” the agency added. Given the asteroid’s massive size, 52768 (1998 OR2) is one of the biggest and possibly most dangerous space rocks listed on CNEOS’ database. Spanning several kilometers wide, this asteroid could cause a major impact event on Earth if it hits the planet.”

Zero Emissions Almost Here? By Viv Forbes

Planes parked up, cruise ships anchored, airports deserted, tourists not touring, supermarket shelves bare, Disneyland shut, borders closing, motor races cancelled, no fans in the stands, smelters and factories closing, travel banned, oil and coal prices crashing, stock markets plunging, businesses closing, bankruptcies rising, hotels and motels unoccupied, politicians panicking, barbies cold - - looks like zero emissions is almost here.

Coronavirus: A Bioweapon? By Brian Simpson

Italy is in full swing with China-style quarantines to attempt to contain the coronavirus. At this point it is worthwhile speculating about why this is happening at all.

The Great Replacement and Climate Change By Brian Simpson

Among other things, climate change seems to yield unending globalist conclusions:
  https://www.nbcnews.com/mach/science/climate-change-could-affect-human-evolution-here-s-how-ncna907276

“As we change on the inside, we’ll also be changing on the outside. Evidence suggests that a warming planet could melt away differences between human races — or population groups, as scientists more accurately call them. The reason why climate change could reduce racial differences is that it will trigger massive migrations. In recent decades the world has become more urbanized, with people moving into large cities in coastal areas. But as polar ice melts and sea levels rise, large numbers of people will be forced to flee the coasts. And as droughts become more common and more severe, people living in more arid areas will have to move to places with more reliable sources of water. These migrations will erode the geographic barriers that once separated human populations. In fact, this process is already underway. As of 2017, 258 million people were living in a country other than the one they were born in — an increase of 49 percent since 2000, according to a report from the United Nations. A World Bank report released in March predicts that climate change will cause 140 million people to migrate by 2050, with those now living in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and Latin America especially likely to migrate. One consequence of large-scale migrations is what biologists call gene flow, a type of evolution caused by the blending of genes between populations. When people from different populations mate and reproduce, their genes intermingle in their children. That can lead to combinations of traits not seen in either parent or in the populations they come from — like the dark skin and blue eyes of Cape Verde islanders, the result of interbreeding between Portuguese and West Africans.

The Great Australian Fire Sale: Treason Unlimited By James Reed

I don’t particularly like much at the Affirmative Right site, since much of their time is spent attacking so-called false doctrines of the Right, when the Left is basically carpet-bombing Western civilisation. Too much personality issues for my taste. But, there are some truly excellent pieces that appear there once in a while, so with everything, we take what is useful and discard the rest, as martial arts great Bruce Lee said (John Steele, a Bruce Lee fan told me this.) And, I am a fan of Australian right film maker Richard Wolstencroft, who in his latest Report from Tiger Mountain tackles one question that also preoccupies me, the way the Australian government is allowing China to buy up the whole place. You would think that we are controlled by traitors, who have an alliance with a foreign, hostile power, or as Richard says, are simply “spies.” And, he drops a few names too, but here we are legally ultra-cautious, and don’t.

Topless Climate Protests? Really Ladies! By Mrs Vera West

Ladies, it’s time to grow up and put some clothes on! Among other things, it is cold and you might catch coronavirus, and die before the climate apocalypse, which would be shocking, if not totally ironic:
  https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/03/08/topless-women-protest-climate-rape-in-london-on-international-womens-day/

“A group of 31 women formed a topless human chain in London to protest against climate change on International Women’s Day. (Warning: explicit images.) Members of the climate change alarmist group Extinction Rebellion (XR) took off their shirts on Waterloo Bridge, blocking traffic in an protest against the supposedly disparate impact that climate change has on women. The protestors painted slogans on their chests such as “climate rape” and “climate murder”. A former teacher who took part in the protest, Sarah Mintram, explained the rationale behind the topless protest, saying: “It’s mainly women in poorer countries in the global south that are experiencing the increase in violence but this will be the reality for all women if the climate and ecological crisis continues to go unaddressed.” “We are here to raise the alarm about what is happening to our sisters around the world and to tell women in the UK the climate and ecological emergency is your issue – it will affect you as a woman if we do not persuade our government to take urgent action starting now,” Mintram told the Metro. Extinction Rebellion cited a January 2020 report from the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, which claimed that climate change was responsible for violence against women in the Southern Hemisphere. The group was mocked on social media, however, by people who thought their protest diminished International Women’s Day, with one user writing: “You reduce women’s day to a farce.”

In Defence of Meat By Mrs Vera West

For meat: at long last some scientists have come forward to debunk claims that meat eating is “evil”:
  https://www.breitbart.com/environment/2019/11/28/scientists-counter-claims-meat-evil/

“A team of UK scholars have fired back at unscientific claims by PETA and other groups that veganism is a “greener” option that eating meat, insisting that meat has “massive social benefits.” Speaking at a panel in central London, scientists from the University of Edinburgh and Scotland’s Rural College argued that eating meat is crucial for the physical and mental health of children, especially in developing countries, adding that that alternatives to livestock farming would not improve land use. “We feel that while livestock production has a range of economic, social and environmental costs and benefits, the costs have perhaps been receiving far more attention recently than some of the benefits,” said Professor Geoff Simm, Director of Global Academy Agriculture and Food Security at the University of Edinburgh. “Meat has massive social benefits,” Simm said. “It’s an important source of dietary protein, energy, highly bioavailable micronutrients, even small amounts of animal-sourced food have a really important effect on the development of children, in the developing world on their cognitive and physical development and they are really important.” Simm also said that claims that veganism would benefit land use are not based on serious research, the Telegraph reported. “Often the argument is made that going vegan would minimise land use, and the modelling studies that have been done demonstrate that that’s not the case,” he said. Prof Mike Coffey, from Scotland’s Rural College expressed his agreement, while adding that livestock breeding actually contributes positively to the environment. “It’s completely unnecessary to go vegan,” Coffey said. “If everybody went vegan it would be devastating for the UK environment. Animals bred for food help boost biodiversity.” Concerns over bovine methane emissions are also being effectively addressed, the panel declared, since researchers are attempting to breed cattle that grow faster and eat less, which could further reduce the amount of methane released by cows. Already the difference in methane emissions from best and worst cattle was about 30 percent, Prof. Coffey said, which means that if all UK farmers used the most digestively efficient animals carbon emissions could be reduced by nearly a third. Experiments in breeding is leading to dairy cows that consume less feed for the amount of milk they produce, Coffey said, and soon livestock farmers will be able to measure methane emissions from groups of animals. “My expectation is that at some point in the near future there will be product labels that relates to the efficiency or carbon impact of the food,” he said. Caution is to be recommended before recommending veganism as a cure-all, said Edinburgh University Professor Andrea Wilson.”

Is Africa Now a Part of China? By James Reed

While many of us are concerned about the buy ups by China of Australia’s crucial assets, and the treason of the political class in allowing this to occur, Australia is only one country being bought up. Africa is well on the way to becoming part of China, in a new colonialism:
  https://www.forbes.com/sites/panosmourdoukoutas/2018/08/04/china-is-treating-africa-the-same-way-european-colonists-did/#3959fc38298b

“Chinese corporations are all over Africa.  In June 2017 a McKinsey & Company report estimated that there are more than 10,000 Chinese-owned firms operating in Africa. What are Chinese corporations doing in Africa? That's a highly controversial issue. The reason Chinese corporations are in Africa is simple; to exploit the people and take their resources. It’s the same thing European colonists did during mercantile times, except worse. The Chinese corporations are trying to turn Africa into another Chinese continent. They are squeezing Africa for everything it is worth. This is the view several African politicians have. The Zambian politician Michael Sata was one of them. At least he was before being elected President of Zambia in 2011. He wrote a paper presented to Harvard University in 2007 that said “European colonial exploitation in comparison to Chinese exploitation appears benign, because even though the commercial exploitation was just as bad, the colonial agents also invested in social and economic infrastructure services Chinese investment, on the other hand, is focused on taking out of Africa as much as can be taken out, without any regard to the welfare of the local people.” (quoted in Scott D. Taylor's "The Nature of Chinese Capital in Africa, Current History, May 2018, p. 197) Sata's bold position got some support by a deadly blast at an explosives factory partly owned by the Chinese state killing 50 Zambian workers.

India Tells Climate Princess Greta Where to Go! By James Reed

Young climate princess Greta Something, has criticised the West over climate change, basically wanting to abandon Western civilisation, the standard Leftoid thing to say. But she has been silent, like a good Leftoid, about the climate change impact of China and India, surprise, surprise:
  https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/blogs/Swaminomics/sorry-greta-india-needs-more-coal-to-power-growth/

“Greta Thunberg, the 16-year old Swedish girl who lectured the United Nations on climate change, is being touted as a possible Nobel Prize winner. She believes she and her white Swedish teenage friends have to save the world from us terrible oldies who created the oil and coal industries. She will be appalled by the plea of India’s coal secretary, Subhash Chandra Garg, that India must urgently expand its coal production from 600 million tonnes a year to a billion tonnes per year to meet basic energy needs. Yet Garg is right. Thunberg made headlines by sailing to the US in a solar-powered-ship to avoid using fuel oil. Does she have any idea of the enormous electricity used to produce the solar cells in her ship? India is a lower middle-income country. Sweden is among the richest. Despite the green sermons, Sweden’s annual per capita carbon emissions are 4.5 metric tonnes, higher than India (1.7 metric tonnes), Pakistan (0.9 metric tonnes) or Bangladesh (0.5 metric tonnes). South Asians can double their carbon emissions without matching Sweden’s prodigality. Widespread activist attempts to stop all oil and coal production are hypocritical. A total switch to solar and wind energy is impossible since these are produced only intermittently when the sun shines and wind blows, maybe 25% of the year on an average. For the rest of the time, India needs coal-based electricity. Maybe new electric storage technology will ultimately change that, but today India needs massive coal expansion for thermal power.

Weird Tic Tacs in the Sky By Brian Simpson

At the end of a long day, one of the subtle pleasures is UFOs, which I derive a devilish delight from researching. Really, I don’t care too much if it is true or not, but it gets up the nose of mainstream scientists, so that just has to be good.
  http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/12/tic-tac-ufo-video-q-and-a-with-navy-pilot-chad-underwood.html

“In the 15 years since Chad Underwood recorded a bizarre and erratic UFO — now called “the Tic Tac,” a name Underwood himself came up with — from the infrared camera on the left wing of his F/A-18 Super Hornet, he’s become a flight instructor, a civilian employee in the aerospace industry, and a father. But he has not yet spoken publicly about what he saw that day, even now, two years after his video made the front page of the New York Times. As he explained before speaking with Intelligencer, Underwood has mostly wanted to avoid having his name “attached to the ‘little green men’ crazies that are out there.” The story of the Tic Tac begins around November 10, 2004, when radar operator Kevin Day first reported seeing odd and slow-moving objects flying in groups of five to ten off of San Clemente Island, west of the San Diego coast. At an elevation of 28,000 feet, moving at a speed of approximately 120 knots (about 138 miles per hour), the clusters were too high to be birds, too slow to be conventional aircraft, and were not traveling on any established flight path, at least according to Day. In a military report made public by KLAS-TV in Las Vegas, Day would later observe that the objects “exhibited ballistic-missile characteristics” as they zoomed from 60,000 feet to 50 feet above the Pacific Ocean, alarmingly without producing sonic booms. All told, radar operators with the Princeton spent about two weeks attempting to figure out what the objects were, a process that included having the ship’s radar system shut down and recalibrated to make sure that the mysterious radar returns were not not false positives, or “ghost tracks.”

Climate Queen Great Goes Full Throttle Marxist! By James Reed

Angry-faced Greta, believes that we need to dismantle Western civilisation to “save the world,” as if the world cares. Letter to The Editor - This common sense applies to indigenous affairs as well as climate change and the current health crisis

To The Australian         Chris Kenny rightly warns that Australia needs to adopt a firmly independent approach towards the UN ("Forget the UN, we need to do what's best for ourselves", 7-8/3). Participate in discussions, yes, but not feel bound by past, present or future UN decisions. As he says, we cannot assume that UN demands are "sensible, competent or necessarily issued in the best interests of all nations." There may indeed be "some vested political or commercial interests" behind much UN behaviour. This common sense applies to indigenous affairs as well as climate change and the current health crisis. Much of the foolish agitation for constitutional recognition and the signing of a treaty or treaties takes its strength from well-meaning but unrealistic UN declarations. The government should back away from that campaigning and focus purely on non-controversial action to improve Aboriginal welfare and education.

The Joy of Plastic Bags By Uncle Len, the Fantastic, Plastic Spastic

I am back by popular demand. Overcoming the summer sloth and apathy to present another mind probing article for your reading pleasure, even though it is now autumn, or is it spring yet? I don’t know, some days it is hot, some days cold, the seasons all blend intro each other in my scrambled egg  mind. And, what better way to kick off the new season, but to celebrate plastic, one of the true joys of creation, and one of my favourites. Here is an article about how plastic bags help the environment:
  https://www.manhattan-institute.org/plastic-bags-help-the-environment

“Banning them provides no benefit other than to let activists lord their preferences over others. Why do politicians want to take away our plastic bags and straws? This moral panic is intensifying even as evidence mounts that banning plastic is both a waste of money and harmful to the environment. If you want to protect dolphins and sea turtles, you should take special care to place your plastic in the trash, not the recycling bin. And if you’re worried about climate change, you’ll cherish those gossamer grocery bags once you learn the facts about plastic. During the 1970s, environmentalists wanted to restrict the use of plastic because it was made from petroleum. When the “energy crisis” abated, they denounced plastic for not being biodegradable in landfills. They blamed it for littering the landscape, clogging sewer drains and global warming. Plastic from our “throwaway society” was killing vast numbers of sea creatures, according to a 2017 BBC documentary series. The series prompted Queen Elizabeth II to ban plastic straws and bottles from the royal estates, and it galvanized so many other leaders that greens celebrate what they call the “Blue Planet Effect,” named for the series. More than 100 countries now restrict single-use plastic bags, and Pope Francis has called for global regulation of plastic. The European Parliament has voted to ban single-use plastic straws, plates and cutlery across the Continent next year. In the U.S., hundreds of municipalities and eight states—California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New York, Oregon and Vermont—have outlawed or restricted single-use plastic bags. Greens in California are pushing a referendum to require all plastic packaging and single-use foodware in the state to be recyclable, and the European Union has unveiled a similar plan.”

The Carbon Capture Con By Viv Forbes

Carbon-capture-and-storage “(CCS)” tops the list of silly schemes “to reduce man-made global warming”. The idea is to capture carbon dioxide from power stations and cement plants, separate it, compress it, pump it long distances and force it underground, hoping it will never escape. Smart engineers with unlimited money could do all this. But only green zealots would support the sacrifice of billions of dollars and scads of energy to bury this harmless, invisible, life-supporting gas in the hope of appeasing the global warming gods. The quantities of gases that CCS would need to handle are enormous and capital and operating costs will be horrendous. For every tonne of coal burnt in a power station, about 11 tonnes of gases are exhausted – 7.5 tonnes of nitrogen from the air used to burn the coal, plus 2.5 tonnes of CO2 and one tonne of water vapour from the coal combustion process. Normally these beneficial atmospheric gases are released to the atmosphere after filters take out any nasties like soot and noxious fumes. However, CCS also requires energy to produce and fabricate steel and erect gas storages, pumps and pipelines and to drill disposal wells. This will chew up more coal resources and produce yet more carbon dioxide, for zero benefit. But the real problems are at the burial site – how to create secure space for the CO2 gas.

There is no vacuum occurring naturally anywhere on earth – every bit of space is occupied by solids, liquids or gases. Underground disposal of CO2 requires it to be pumped AGAINST the pressure of whatever fills the pore space of the rock formation now – either natural gases or liquids. These pressures can be substantial, especially after more gas is pumped in. The natural gases in rock formations are commonly air, CO2, CH4 (methane) or rarely, H2S (rotten egg gas). The liquids are commonly salty water, sometimes fresh water or very rarely, liquid hydrocarbons. Pumping out air is costly; pumping natural CO2 out to make room for man-made CO2 is pointless; and releasing rotten egg gas or salty water on the surface would create a real problem, unlike the imaginary threat from CO2. In some cases CCS may require the removal of fresh water to make space for CO2. Producing fresh water on the surface would be seen as a boon by most locals. Naturally, some carbon dioxide buried under pressure will dissolve in groundwater and aerate it, so that the next water driller in the area could get a real bonus – bubbling Perrier Water on tap, worth more than oil.

Bill Gates on Coronavirus and Pandemics By Brian Simpson

Bill Gates has an article in the world’s leading medical journal, The New England Journal of Medicine. Amazing for someone with no medical qualification, but fame and money, I guess, but on second thoughts, it is not so amazing, given fame and fortune. Anyway, Gates is worried about the coronavirus, and since our side of politics has him as a key player in the Grand Conspiracy, it is worthwhile reading what he thinks.
  https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMp2003762

“In the past week, Covid-19 has started behaving a lot like the once-in-a-century pathogen we’ve been worried about. I hope it’s not that bad, but we should assume it will be until we know otherwise. There are two reasons that Covid-19 is such a threat. First, it can kill healthy adults in addition to elderly people with existing health problems. The data so far suggest that the virus has a case fatality risk around 1%; this rate would make it many times more severe than typical seasonal influenza, putting it somewhere between the 1957 influenza pandemic (0.6%) and the 1918 influenza pandemic (2%). Second, Covid-19 is transmitted quite efficiently. The average infected person spreads the disease to two or three others — an exponential rate of increase. There is also strong evidence that it can be transmitted by people who are just mildly ill or even presymptomatic. That means Covid-19 will be much harder to contain than the Middle East respiratory syndrome or severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), which were spread much less efficiently and only by symptomatic people. In fact, Covid-19 has already caused 10 times as many cases as SARS in a quarter of the time.

Then there is the dangerous risk of a surface outburst or leakage from a pressurised reservoir of CO2. The atmosphere contains 0.04% CO2 which is beneficial for all life. But a CCS reservoir would contain +90% of this heavier-than-air gas - a lethal, suffocating concentration for nearby animal life if it escaped. Pumping gases underground is only sensible if it brings real benefits such as using waste gases to increase oil recovery from declining oil fields – frack the strata, pump in CO2 and force out oil/gas. To find a place where you could drive out natural hydro-carbons in order to make space to bury CO2 would be like winning the Lottery – a profitable but unlikely event. Normally however, CCS will be futile as the oceans will largely undo whatever man tries to do with CO2 in the atmosphere.

Climate Denial to become a Crime? By James Reed

I came across this article where it is proposed that climate change denial be made a crime. That, I suppose, is just the way things are handled by the elites today, with their multicult fascism. We have seen the same strategy done with race and immigration issues, and now climate change is the next big thing, to push the Big Agenda even further:
  https://en.unesco.org/courier/2019-3/climate-crimes-must-be-brought-justice

“Climate denial has increased the risk of catastrophic global change. Should international criminal law be used against those who promote this dangerous trend? Economic and political leaders can no longer pretend it is business as usual. Whether they actively induce environmental harm or just ignore the existential threat against the survival of the human species, states and corporations must be held accountable for their actions or inaction regarding climate change. A fire has started in the theatre, from which there are no exits. Unchecked, the fire will kill and injure many in the theatre, starting with those in the cheapest seats. Many people can smell the smoke, but some others have not noticed it yet. Some people are trying to warn everyone so that the fire can be contained before it spreads out of control. Another group – sitting mainly in the most expensive seats – is trying to shout loudly that there is no fire, or that it is not serious, or that there is plenty of time left to put it out. This group uses emotive language and insists that the other group is not to be trusted. Many people in the theatre are confused by these conflicting messages or convinced by the fire-deniers. There are enough people in this combined set to significantly slow down the efforts of those listening to the accurate warnings, those who are trying to put out the fire. In this scenario, those shouting “No fire!” ought to be silenced, because there is a fire that requires urgent and immediate action to prevent it from spreading and becoming uncontrollable. But the fire is not being tackled properly because many of the people in the theatre do not know whom to believe. Can we compare those who deny the reality of climate change to the group that occupies the best seats in the theatre? The answer seems obvious: yes.
