Iain Davis, blogging away at the great UK Column.org has given his take, and an interesting one at that, of the phenomenon of accelerationism, and the Dark enlightenment. The later term was associated with a number of dissent Right thinkers, many from the New Right of Europe, who rejected the rationalist ideals of the Enlightenment. They were radical traditionalists, and anti-equality. But, there is a parallel critique from rh left, often associated with e critique of science and technology, linked to Deep ecology. All that is intellectually interesting for those wanting to write PhD theses. But, these themes are linked to accelerationism, which hopes to see some new order created through accelerating destructive forces; what has been called creative destruction. The world Economic forum, Great Resetters hold to something like this, seeing the collapse of the present as necessary for building their dystopic New World Order. As always, the problem is that the universe is complex, and chaos effects exist, and one can never do merely one thing. There are unintended consequences, and things can quickly spiral out of control. That is something that these elites have not bracketed into their equations. Civilisation in all forms could fall from this hubris.
