Defund the Universities: A Good Start By James Reed

I like to think I got the “close down the universities” movement going over a decade ago. Now, thinkers are writing about how to do this, such as by defunding, which is an excellent idea. Simply starve the cancer.

“The university today is all about insuring control of thought and speech. They want to rewrite the past, and they control the present by indoctrinating students, rewarding those who incentives and disincentives, and idealizing people who embody their values, thus providing role models for students. This guarantees that their millions of student “products” entering critical professions like teaching and journalism will control the future.

Global Commo Here it Comes! By James Reed

There is a new model, actually an old model for global governance, we call the New World Order, which on the face of it, will redistribute power and wealth, but it really will be the opposite, ceasing power for the 1 percenters.

“As the world continues to grapple with the deadly consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said only one thing is certain in its wake: “a new model of global governance” is coming and the globalist body is doing all it can to hurry its arrival. The Portugese socialist made his prediction Saturday as he delivered the Nelson Mandela Lecture and spoke of the need for the U.N. to address “the huge gaps in governance structures and ethical frameworks” the epidemic has exposed. He said: To close those gaps, and to make the New Social Contract possible, we need a New Global Deal to ensure that power, wealth and opportunities are shared more broadly and fairly at the international level. A new model for global governance must be based on full, inclusive and equal participation in global institutions. […] A New Global Deal, based on a fair globalization, on the rights and dignity of every human being, on living in balance with nature, on taking account of the rights of future generations, and on success measured in human rather than economic terms, is the best way to change this. The worldwide consultation process around the 75th anniversary of the United Nations has made clear that people want a global governance system that delivers for them. Guterres then outlined his plan for the future of the world, citing his “New Global Deal,” to be based on “a fair globalization, on the rights and dignity of every human being, on living in balance with nature, on taking account of the rights of future generations, and on success measured in human rather than economic terms, is the best way to change this.” The 71-year-old professional bureaucrat claimed a “worldwide consultation process around the 75th anniversary of the United Nations has made clear that people want a global governance system that delivers for them.” He also maintained the time has come for the “developing world” to have a far stronger voice in global decision-making. This reformation of international governance will be linked to financial relief and the forgiveness of debt for struggling countries. He said: Reform of the debt architecture and access to affordable credit must create fiscal space for countries to move investment in the same direction. This is not the first time Guterres,  a member of the Portuguese Socialist Party who served as Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002, has spoken fondly of his desire to see the world recast along socialist principles.”

Nordic Whites Must Become a “Struggle Ethne” By Chris Knight (Florida)

With northern European people fast becoming minorities, if not already, in the lands their ancestors built, we need to move to a new way of thinking about things, beyond conservativism. This means adopting ethnocentrism, rather than universalism, and moving to create our own communities. A good outline was published today at

“With the ascendancy of cancel culture and the looming prospect of a white minority, the time has come to create a parallel economy. The left’s strategy is obvious: import third-world populations and isolate us economically. Fortunately, there is a way out of this, and it is a 2-pronged plan:

Peaceful Violent Protesters By Charles Taylor (Florida)

It is a “foul is fair, and fair is foul” world, where antifa urban terrorists, who have smashed and burnt down a fair chunk of “Amerika,” get the hero treatment by the mainstream media. Even private residences, now of officials, are not safe:

“A group of left-wing protesters marched to the private home of Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf on Sunday in Alexandria, Virginia, to demonstrate against the use of federal law enforcement in Portland, Oregon. The unusual demonstration, targeting the private residence of a Cabinet secretary, received favorable coverage in the Washington Post: At a triangular park in a tranquil Alexandria, Va., neighborhood, a group of about 30 gathered Sunday morning and awaited directions for a disruptive mission. They would protest the detaining and removal of demonstrators in Portland, Ore., by federal officers last week, and they would do it outside the home of acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf.… Together they went, in bicycle jerseys and tie-dyed shirts, chanting Black Lives Matter protest slogans as well as a specific message for their target. The group was mostly white people, young and old, walking uphill as the temperature climbed into the humid 90s. Some huffed and puffed behind face masks, which everyone wore to ward off the novel coronavirus.…

Walk Softly, but Carry a Thumping Big Stick By John Steele

The US conservative sites, to be distinguished from survivalist (prepping plus guns), are concerned about the developing chaos in the US, and are now talking about self-defence. Not so much guns, and getting ready for the inevitable zombie apocalypse, when everything falls apart, but, more polite stuff like carrying a gentleman’s cane, as men in the Victorian era did, while strolling back from a big  dinner, and going to the theatre, cigar in hand. The following relates to the US, only. As defenceless Aussie bunnies, we simply watch, unblinking, dazzled by the spotlights.

“Any sort of implement is better than no implement at all. A simple walking stick can be a devastating tool of self-defense. There are many sites on the net where the proper use of a cane to protect yourself can be studied. If nothing else, get a cane and practice what you see there on an old duffle bag. Better yet, round up a few friends and ask your local martial arts dojo to set up some classes for proper instruction. It would be hard to imagine police confiscating canes from, let’s face it, our somewhat silver-toned ranks. Do not bring anything that looks like a cudgel or shillelagh to a meeting/event. The cops will confiscate them—and they are actually less useful than the common cane with its crooked end. In this new age we find ourselves in, I don’t know why we all don’t just carry walking stick all the time. They are not illegal and are quite traditional. Let’s start a right-wing fashion trend.”

Now it’s Cognitive Privilege! By Brian Simpson

It had to happen, as the cultural Marxist nihilists work their way down the list: now even brain power is  discriminatory, which come to think of it, looking at these moron  ferals, must be true.

“There’s a new kind of “privilege” in town, and if you suffer from it, you can’t help it any more than you can help your skin color or your gender. (Although, of late, gender seems to be completely open to debate and have nothing to do with biology.) If you are an intelligent person, you have “cognitive privilege” according to an op-ed in the Daily Iowan. Well, that’s just really not fair, is it? With all the “privileges” out there that need to be kept in check, may God help you if you are white, male, attractive, and smart. You are public enemy #1 to the social justice set, you privileged scumbag. I’ll let the author, Dan Williams, explain cognitive privilege because I couldn’t possibly do it justice in a summary: We now know that intelligence is not something we have significant control over but is something we are born with. We are living in a society in which success is increasingly linked to one’s intelligence. This is not to say that intelligence is the only factor that is important. All that is implied is that below a certain threshold of intelligence, there are fewer and fewer opportunities. These opportunities are being shifted upward to jobs that require heavier cognitive lifting or else are being replaced by robots. Thus, the accident of having been born smart enough to be able to be successful is a great benefit that you did absolutely nothing to earn. Consequently, you have nothing to be proud of for being smart. So, in other words, if you’re not that smart, your job may be taken by a robot, and that isn’t your fault. I assume that this will eventually lead to the assumption that if you cognitively “disabled,” the world probably owes you something. Because we’re all about “fairness” in the United States, right? RIGHT? Furthermore, if you are smart, in the wise (cough) words of former President Obama, “You didn’t build that.”  You just hit the genetic lottery and should be humbled (and perhaps a little embarrassed) as opposed to proud. Will this be the next thing that kiboshes people who deserve it from getting a job? “We wanted to hire her, but she is smart. We have already exceeded our quota of cognitively privileged individuals, so we’ll have to go hire that dumb guy or we’ll be breaking labor laws.” Sometimes there is so much ridiculous stuff out there that you all must just think, “She has to be making this up.” Oh, that I was so creative. Nope, this is the society in which we dwell, with one ridiculous outrage on top of another.’”

No Christianity Please … We are China! By James Reed

As China’s power grows, so does its persecution drive. Christians are a good target.

“Chinese communist authorities have ordered poor Christian villagers to remove Christian images from their homes and replace them with portraits of Chairman Mao and President Xi Jinping or risk losing their welfare benefits.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has continued its program of “Sinicization” of religion by channeling religious fervor in the country toward the Party rather than God, the Christian Post reported this weekend.
In May, an official in the eastern province of Shandong raided the home of a local Christian and hung pictures of Mao Zedong and Xi Jinping on the wall in place of Christian images. “These are the greatest gods. If you want to worship somebody, they are the ones,” the official told them. This year, China’s “social credit system” was scheduled to become fully functional, assigning points to each individual based on how much the Communist Party approves of them and using their rating to control their behavior and access to certain benefits.. “There are fears that China’s new ‘social credit system’ – designed to reward good citizenship and punish bad – will be used to discriminate against Christians,” wrote the Catholic charity organization Aid to the Church in Need in a 2019 report. The fears are tied to “cash rewards for those who inform on underground churches and other ‘unofficial’ places of worship,” indicating that the government might also reward the persecution of Christians with high “social credit” scores. According to the religious liberty magazine Bitter Winter, the CCP is now using state welfare benefits as leverage to coerce people into worshiping the Party rather than Jesus. In April, for instance, party officials visited the homes of Christians in Linfen, in the northern province of Shanxi, ordering those who receive welfare payments from the government to remove crosses, Christian symbols, and images in their homes and replace them with portraits of China’s communist leaders. The officials threatened the Christians that non-compliance with the order would result in suspension of their welfare subsidies. “All impoverished households in the town were told to display Mao Zedong images,” a local house church preacher said. “The government is trying to eliminate our belief and wants to become God instead of Jesus.” Officials have often made good on their threats, ruthlessly suspending benefits to Christians who fail to give up their devotions.”

Bikini Girl Stripped Down by Politically Correct BLM! By Michael Ferguson

It is all basic Skinnerian operative conditioning psychology of reward and punishment, of teaching people a lesson, and display of power. The elites will destroy you, no matter how good one looks in a bikini. Even me.

“The US talent boss boyfriend of the Miss Swimsuit UK stripped of her crown after posting an anti-Black rant has himself declared that white privilege is a 'leftist lie' in a series of his own outbursts following George Floyd's murder, MailOnline can reveal today. Jasmine Archer-Jones, 23, from Chester, who moved to Texas shortly after winning the title last year, took to Facebook to share her view that Mr Floyd may not have been innocent and that 'ALL lives matter'. Miss Archer has been in a relationship with US-based talent agency boss Todd Markey since March, according to her Facebook profile. Based in Houston, Texas, Mr Markey, who spent some of his childhood in South Africa, is believed to be a Donald Trump supporting separated father-of-two who shares his girlfriend’s views on the Black Lives Matter movement. Last month he posted a photograph of white BLM protesters with the caption: ‘White guilt is real, white privilege is a leftist lie' and declared: 'Couldn't have said it better myself'. Miss Archer-Jones made her controversial post on June 3 relating to the wave of protests sweeping the globe. She wrote: 'This is ridiculous now. It HAS to STOP. ALL lives matter, if you look deeply into statistics, more UNARMED WHITE people DIED than BLACK last year', reports The Sun. She added: 'Yes some people may say George Floyd died when he was innocent but I am yet to see hard evidence of this.”

No Street Protests Over this Black Life By Chris Knight

     The latest shocker:

“A black Trump supporter who was well known in his community for standing on street corners with "Vote Trump" signs as well as signs plastered with Bible verses was killed in broad daylight in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood Thursday afternoon. Bernell Tremmell, 60, was shot in front of his business, Expression Publications, at 911 E. Wright. The building is covered in handmade signs, the most prominent of which read "Vote Donald Trump 2020," and "Re-Elect Trump 2020." Law enforcement sources tell "The Dan O'Donnell Show" that it is impossible to know the motive for the shooting since the suspect is not yet in custody, but detectives are investigating the possibility that Tremmell was killed over his political beliefs.”

John Ioannidis on the Concept of a Covid-19 Death By Brian Simpson

Lots of shonky things have happened, and are happening re Covid-19 construction and reporting. Academic debunker of all things statistical, Professor John Ioannidis, has been working overtime:

“A Florida health official told a local news station that a young man who was listed as a COVID-19 victim had no underlying conditions. The answer surprised reporters, who probed for additional information. “He died in a motorcycle accident,” Dr. Raul Pino clarified. “You could actually argue that it could have been the COVID-19 that caused him to crash. I don’t know the conclusion of that one.” The anecdote is a ridiculous example of a real controversy that has inspired some colorful memes: what should define a COVID-19 death? While the question is important, such incidents may be just the tip of the proverbial iceberg regarding the unreliability of COVID-19 data. In May, a public radio station in Miami broke what soon became a national story. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had been conflating antibody and viral testing, obscuring key metrics lawmakers use to determine if they should reopen their respective economies. The story was soon picked up by NPR, who spoke to an epidemiologist who condemned the practice. "Reporting both serology and viral tests under the same category is not appropriate, as these two types of tests are very different and tell us different things," Dr. Jennifer Nuzzo of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security told NPR. The Atlantic soon followed with an article that explained the agency was painting an inaccurate picture of the state of the pandemic. The practice, the writers said, was making it difficult to tell if more people were actually sick or had merely acquired antibodies from fighting off the virus. Public health experts were not impressed.

Does a Cat Mind-Altering Parasite Cause Leftism? By Brian Simpson

It is interesting to speculate about the finding that a zombie parasite, that alters the minds of cats in a racially suicidal manner, is widespread in people. Some scientists see this as producing mental illness in humans. But I ask: could leftism be a product of a mind virus infection?

“A surprising new study suggests two-thirds of Australians have been exposed to a potentially mind-altering cat parasite. Toxoplasma gondii is famous for manipulating the brains of infected mice so they run towards cats, instead of away from them – raising questions about what it could be doing to human brains. New research from a team of Edith Cowan University scientists found 66 per cent of the 150 people they studied had antibodies to the parasite. “It blew us out of the water,” said Dr Aus Molan, the Edith Cowan University researcher who led the study. Toxoplasma gondii is a cat parasite that has the ability to infect other species, which has allowed it to become incredibly widespread. A review published in February suggested about half of Australian domestic and wild cats have it, but many other animals suffer too – it has even turned up in Australian dugongs. While it can live in other animals, it can only reproduce in cats. That seems like a fatal flaw. But the parasite has developed the ability to rewire the minds of mice and rats, making them attracted to the smell of cat urine – essentially bringing the parasite back to the cat. When it infects a human, our immune systems force toxo to become dormant. The parasite hides as cysts in the brain and muscle. For the vast majority of people the cysts will seem to remain there harmlessly. “If you talk to clinicians, they say ‘you don’t need to worry about it’,” said Dr Tonkin. “But it’s really not known.

Try This for Official Degeneracy! By Mrs Vera West

This horror speaks for itself. And, it is from the Canadian government, which says it all. Adult discretion please, shocking thing for news reporting I agree.

“B.C. health officials are recommending an age-old, occasionally cutting-edge tactic for sex during the coronavirus pandemic: “glory holes.” The B.C. Centre for Disease Control added new recommendations for socially distant sex to its COVID-19 website this week. One of those tips was to try using a “glory hole” — a hole cut into a wall that’s only large enough for a penis to slip through. Glory holes are typically used for anonymous oral or penetrative sex, according to Urban Dictionary, but they’re also an excellent way to limit physical contact during intercourse, the B.C. CDC says. “Use barriers, like walls (e.g., glory holes), that allow for sexual contact but prevent close face-to-face contact,” the health organization writes on its website. The recommendation is just a tip and not a firm rule, according to the website. The site includes many other tips for reducing your risk of spreading the coronavirus during sex, such as wearing a mask, refraining from kissing, using a condom and washing your body with soap and water. Health officials across the country have echoed most of that advice, although they haven’t said anything about glory holes. New York City health officials hinted at using glory holes in a recent three-page document without specifically naming them. “Be creative with sexual positions and physical barriers, like walls, that allow sexual contact while preventing close face-to-face contact,” the document said.

The French Revolution 2.0 By Chris Knight

Comparisons are being made that the BLM movement is like the early stages of the French Revolution, designed to tear down the old order. This will be interesting, since it is unclear what could possibly hold the present cesspool together. And the parasites are quite likely to deprive themselves of their host:

“The Black Lives Matter movement may be on its way to becoming a mass movement similar to the French Revolution, Hoover Institution senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson said. In an interview with author and conservative radio show host Eric Metaxas, Hanson cited glaring similarities between the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement and the French Revolution’s Jacobin dictatorship, which is known for its “reign of terror.” According to Hanson, the similarities between the two become even more apparent once their ideologies get inspected, noting that Black Lives Matter takes after the French Revolution’s values of “egalitarianism and fraternity,” which sought to change every aspect of the citizens’ life. “Everything is on the table. I never imagined that NPR would be telling listeners to decolonize their library or there would be women to shave their heads so they wouldn’t have non-African American hair, or they wouldn’t privilege their whiteness,” Hanson said, describing the acts as reflective of “reeducation camp mentalities.” “That’s what we are witnessing now with this movement,” Hanson said, echoing statements he made during a prior appearance at Fox’s The Ingraham Angle. Hanson, during his Ingraham Angle appearance, noted that while Black Lives Matter had legitimate concerns regarding African-American issues during the early days following George Floyd’s death at the hands of a White police officer, the movement has since devolved and become what he called a forum for “blanket condemnation” of law enforcement and authorities. “…All of a sudden people were cutting their hair and saying ‘I’m not black.’ Children were accusing their parents of racism or suddenly it was ‘defund the police’ or you have to remove books from your bookshelf if they display inordinate attention to white authors,” Hanson said, referring to the social justice-related trends that have since emanated from the movement. “You’ll never be able to satisfy the iteration as they get more radical,” Hanson told host Laura Ingraham. This, Hanson said, stems in part from globalization and multiculturalism, noting that there are approximately 55 million people in the country who, due to their being born and raised abroad, may not be familiar with traditional American values.”

Kill a White; Get a Medal? By Charles Taylor (Florida)

Wow, there goes the rule of law! A killer is let off without any jail time at all because the judge thought that said killer had a positive impact upon the community. Guess the colour?

“A New York City judge has sentenced a former Wake Forest University assistant basketball coach to three years of probation with no jail time in the one-punch death of a tourist from Florida. Jamill C. Jones, 37, was sentenced on Thursday for third-degree assault in the August 2018 homicide of 35-year-old Sandor Szabo in Queens. He had faced a maximum of one year in jail. Judge Joanne B. Watters explained in her ruling that a jail sentence would ‘would only serve to punish Mr. Jones,’ adding ‘it is my opinion that Mr. Jones is repentant.’ Watters cited the ‘the positive impact Mr Jones has had on his community,’ which according to his attorney, Eric Renfroe, included mentoring young black girls without fathers. The ruling came as a shock to Szabo’s family, including his mother Donna Kent, who delivered a stirring, tearful impact statement at the sentencing hearing, which was conducted over video-conference after months of delays due to the pandemic. ‘He will always be a murderer, a coward,’ Kent said in her remarks. ‘No parent should ever have to endure this kind of torture.’ Current New York laws only allow misdemeanor assault charges in single-blow cases where prosecutors are merely able to show an intent to injure, rather than an intent to kill. Kent, as well as District Attorney Kirk A. Sendlein, who prosecuted the case, had both asked Judge Watters to impose the maximum possible sentence of one year in jail, citing the fact that a homicide was being charged as a misdemeanor.

Will there be a UFO Invasion Soon? Will George Soros Work with Alien Over-Lords for Cosmic Diversity? By Brian Simpson

Just to add icing to the cake, what we need next is an alien invasion. Sure, we have mass immigration, but that is humans. How about alien spaces craft from other worlds? Or, perhaps, the latest fear, space germs, sent here specially to wipe us out. Far fetched?  Well, the truth is out there, somewhere.

“Despite Pentagon statements that it disbanded a once-covert program to investigate unidentified flying objects, the effort remains underway — renamed and tucked inside the Office of Naval Intelligence, where officials continue to study mystifying encounters between military pilots and unidentified aerial vehicles. Pentagon officials will not discuss the program, which is not classified but deals with classified matters. Yet it appeared last month in a Senate committee report outlining spending on the nation’s intelligence agencies for the coming year. The report said the program, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force, was “to standardize collection and reporting” on sightings of unexplained aerial vehicles, and was to report at least some of its findings to the public every six months. While retired officials involved with the effort — including Harry Reid, the former Senate majority leader — hope the program will seek evidence of vehicles from other worlds, its main focus is on discovering whether another nation, especially any potential adversary, is using breakout aviation technology that could threaten the United States. Senator Marco Rubio, the Florida Republican who is the acting chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, told a CBS affiliate in Miami this month that he was primarily concerned about reports of unidentified aircraft over American military bases — and that it was in the government’s interest to find out who was responsible.”

Armed, 10-Year-Old Car Jackers! By Charles Taylor

This is how it is likely to end, as children arm themselves, or are armed by adults with guns, then go on crime sprees, something common in Africa.

“A band of armed children allegedly committed 15 carjackings since late June in Chicago’s South Side and have yet to be caught, police said. The majority of the auto theft has taken place in the past week with six separate carjackings on Saturday alone, according to a Chicago Police bulletin that was provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation. Law enforcement are on the hunt for between four and six African American suspects aged 10 to 17,  the bulletin said. The group of kids has reportedly fired guns in two of the incidents and allegedly approached their victims while idle or parked at a gas station. Many of the robberies occurred in broad daylight, the notice read. “I’m scared to use my garage. I don’t feel safe in my neighborhood,” carjacking victim and Chicago elementary school teacher Alyssa Blanchard told Fox 5. Blanchard said she was forcibly removed from her BMW by two kids brandishing handguns in a hospital parking lot on July 14. The group pointed the firearms at her head, grabbed her purse and sped off with her luxury vehicle, according to Fox 5. The following day the armed teens allegedly used the BMW to steal another vehicle from a 21-year-old, injuring the young woman in the process. Police found Blanchard’s car days later after it had been crashed, the local outlet reported. “I teach this age group and I can’t believe they would do this,” Blanchard told Fox 5.

Hot Dog Eating: Vital News By Brian Simpson

The really important question for science is: how many hot dogs can a human eat in ten minutes? Have a guess, then read on for the most ground shattering research humanity has ever conducted:

“A professor at High Point University in North Carolina has released a study of how many hot dogs a human being can possibly eat in a ten-minute time span. Using data from 39 years of the traditional Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, Dr. James Smoliga has determined that 83 hot dogs is the most a human can consume in that time period. “Dr. Smoliga’s calculations show that when adjusted for body mass, the world’s most competitive hot dog eaters could outeat a grizzly bear or a coyote, as measured by the amount of food per unit of time,” wrote the New York Times, although the paper added that “Humans do not come close to eating as much as the Burmese python, which can consume up to 75 percent of its body weight in a single meal.” “The maximal limits of human performance are a perpetually interesting, interdisciplinary topic of scientific discourse,” writes in his study, adding, “Digestive system capacity is not typically explored as a measure of human performance, but the ability to consume and digest large quantities of food is advantageous if resource availability is unpredictable.” After watching hot dog eating champion Joey Chestnut break his own eating record year after year, Smoglia grew interested in what the upper limit of human encased meat endurance would be. Over the most recently 4th of July weekend, Chestnut consumed 75 hot dogs, winning for the 13th time. Miki Sudo won her seventh straight women’s championship by eating a record 48.5 hot dogs. (Sudo also holds world championships in eating kimchi, hotdish, and ice cream.) In making his calculations, Smoglia used an existing formula by Stanford researchers that figured the limits of running speeds for dogs, horses, and humans. But not all academics are buying Smoglia’s inter-species calculations, arguing that normal eating habits, of, say, snakes, are different than abnormal human eating habits in contests. “It’s nice to make a comparison amongst species, but I don’t know if it’s exactly the same,” said Annelies De Cuyper, an animal nutritionist at Ghent University in Belgium, to The Times. “If you put them all together in a contest, I don’t know who would win,” she told the paper.”

Turning on Their Own By Bruce Bennett

A professor says that the publishing industry is not racist, and now he faces sacking. And, he is a supporter of BLM. Well, the revolution is “eating its own,” now:

“‘I am pro-Black Lives Matter. I am not racist, not by a long shot’
A University of Pennsylvania professor may be kicked out of leadership in a prestigious literary group for privately disputing the wording of a proposed Black Lives Matter statement. The National Book Critics Circle said it’s “facilitating a special membership meeting” to vote on the removal of Carlin Romano from its board, citing a request from “more than 30 regular members.” Romano’s critics are trying to get him fired by Penn as well. More than 240 people have signed a petition demanding that Penn’s Annenberg School for Communication, where Romano (above) teaches media theory and philosophy, “prohibit Carlin Romano from teaching at Penn this fall or ever again.” The professor’s job at Penn does not appear to be in immediate danger. Neither Penn media relations nor Annenberg Director of Communications Julie Sloane responded to College Fix queries about Romano’s job. While NPR described Romano’s comments as “racist,” his primary objection to the proposed statement was that it ignored the American publishing industry’s efforts to promote black authors in the past few decades. Romano, a former NBCC president and its current vice president of grants, also said he bore no “culpability” for the supposed “erasure of BIPOC [black, indigenous and people of color] voices” in publishing, as the statement described the industry. “I myself have probably written more articles and reviews about Philadelphia’s black literature and traditions in my 25 years at the [Philadelphia] Inquirer than anyone living, black or white,” he wrote in the email to fellow board members that is now being used against him. He also objected to the media’s portrayal of his comments in the private email, telling The Daily Pennsylvanian: “I am pro-Black Lives Matter. I am in favor of greater diversity in the book publishing business. I am not racist, not by a long shot.”

On Banning all Non-Aboriginal Religions? By Ian Wilson LL.B

Here is a petition before the Queensland parliament, which illustrates how mad things are getting:

“TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House certain religious organisations operating in Queensland have a prime belief that a supreme being created the Earth about 6000 years ago. This is an anathema to many sciences and in particular to Aboriginal culture which is 60,000 to 120,000 years old. The creationist religions effectively deny Aboriginal history and culture thereby breaching our racist vilification laws. Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ensure that religious organisations preaching that a supreme being created the Earth about 6000 years ago not receive any State government assistance, exemptions, subsidies or funding.”

Coon Cheese gets Cancelled By James Reed

I understand; someone found it offensive; but at least we still have the tastiest cheese on the planet, to eat at home under lock down and cancellation. Once cheese is banned itself, whatever shall I do for fibre?

“The Coon cheese brand name will be scrapped from Australian supermarkets after 78 years by its Canadian owners. Aboriginal activists have spent the past 20 years lobbying to have the brand name changed as the word 'coon' is demeaning to people of colour. On Friday, the company announced it had decided to retire the Coon brand name. The move comes after the Black Lives Matter movement gathered momentum in the wake of the death of George Floyd. The company confirmed it would look for a new name which 'aligned with current attitudes'. We performed a careful and diligent review of this sensitive situation,’ the CEO of Saputo, which makes the cheese, Lino Saputo Jr said. 'We wanted to ensure we listened to all the concerns surrounding the COON brand name, while also considering comments from consumers who cherish the brand and recognise the origin of its founder Edward William Coon, which they feel connected to. 'After thorough consideration, Saputo has decided to retire the COON brand name. 'As part of this process of transformation, we commit to keep our stakeholders informed as we move forward.”
