Current attacks on the celebration of Australia Day are too often misleading. Gregory Smithers (‘January 26 has long been a political catalyst’, 24/8) focuses on ‘white privilege’ but neglects to consider white achievement in our history. Ordinary Aussies are not superficial, as he suggests they are, to see the attacks as destructive of ‘the myths and symbols that give meaning to collective national identity.’ And the ‘changing of political power’ in the nation is a matter of deep concern for lovers of traditional Australia. It smacks of incipient totalitarianism.
As for John Armstrong’s generalizing reference (Letters, 24/8) to ‘white settlers’ seeing Aboriginals as ‘part of the fauna’, it is a grossly unjust insult for which no adequate evidence exists at all.

Coalition MPs such as George Brandis and Christopher Pyne, who are claiming (‘Religious rights threat in state laws’, 24/8) that the coming postal vote is about nothing else than ‘allowing gay couples to wed’, are doing further damage to their party by such an inaccurate, head-in-the-sand approach.
Sufficient evidence has now come to light, both from overseas experience and analyses of Australian laws, to show that a ‘yes’ vote will lead to a serious diminution of religious freedom in the nation, unless very great care is taken beforehand to adjust and introduce legal protections for adherents of religions and other persons motivated by conscience.
If the High Court allows the postal vote to proceed, there should be an immediate bipartisan declaration by the PM and Leader of the Opposition that, whatever the result, no change to our marriage law will be legislated until satisfactory protections are in place.

Heard the one about the oh-so-pure politicians, who advocate anti-racist, non-discriminatory everything – except for one thing – their own perks:

The Libtards are hoping to save $ 3.6 billion, plus get lots of extra yummy tax, as those who are unlucky enough to have a job will now work until they die. Hey, maybe if we abolished the government, philosophical anarchism-style, we could save even more! Look, some people think that this can be done:

daddy said that we are no longer goin to have father day because just like when they tok away australa day, and ANZAK day (in 2018), there were really bad things about father like all the staues of the white explorers who killed everybody, so we got bulldozers and smashed al the staues real good my teacher Ms Gutkicker said that all men are bad because they take jobs away from women and they all do terrble tings to women and kids abuse them she said i was made to stand in the rubbish bin, being the only boy in my class because I may hurt people when I grow up so I must bepunish now to be god Ms Guutkicker threw rubbish at me to tell me about somethug she called “white priviledge” but I don’t now why because she has white skin too
another kind lady said that a lot of little kids don’t have fathes and having a day for them made them sad, so we should not have the day which Ms Gutkicker said was right so I believ her or I have to stand in the bin all day and get junk on my legs and have rubbis thrown in my face, like rotten egg sanwichs

Australia does not have writers along the lines of Jeff Cooper (1920-2006), just like it does not have bad ass cultural heroes such as Jim Bowie (1796-1836). Sure we have Ned Kelly, but couldn’t anyone have put on a tin can and got shot up? Just joking irish fans, I love old Ned and his tin suit, real cool and clever. We Aussies were once as tough as our brother Yanks, but now it is a moot question who has the lowest T.
Anyway, back to Jeff Cooper, the father of American pistol craft, and the thinking man’s survivalist:
https://www.buckeyefirearms.org/quotations-jeff-cooper
While there are a lot of Cooper’s works out there, I found a real gem from Special Weapons, 1983 Annual, “The fighting Rifle: Forgotten but Not Gone.” I was culling out my bag of papers to get paper to use as fire-stater, and I read this one before burning it. You see, living in a tent, space is premium and there is no room for such luxuries such as storage.

It is good to see some critical reflection about the dark side of immigration, especially in the light of compounding absurdities, such as the suggestion of using chemicals such as oxytocin to make Whites love refugees, migrants, transgenders, and anyone the globalists want them to like:

Realities like this need to be drugged away, Brave New World style:

Well, the backlash from Charlottesville is rolling over the world like nuclear clouds of radiation soon will. The Left and antifa are going plain mad. Examples abound. An Asian with the name Robert lee, has been removed from his assignment of calling a football game at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville because his name sounded like the Confederate General! Yes, they are in power, so they are allowed to be dopey.
Then there is the “Kill all whitey statues,” rampage that the Left is now on, moving on from attacking Confederate statues, to all White historical figures including Christopher Columbus:

“U.S. infrastructure is in “a pre-9/11 moment” when it comes to cybersecurity and time is running short to shore up its cyber defenses, an industry advisory committee warned Tuesday.
If government and industry don’t dramatically boost their efforts to protect critical infrastructure, such as the financial system or electric grids, they risk missing a “narrow and fleeting window of opportunity before a watershed, 9/11-level cyberattack,” according to a report approved by the Homeland Security Department’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council.”

Peter Hartcher rightly suggests (‘The dangers in playing the politics of identity’, 26/8) that a wise political party will seek to ‘lift the collective gaze to a political vision for the nation.’ What might that vision be for Australia?
It will have to be inclusive of all major interests, so it will not accept Hartcher’s claim that ‘the Imperial British vision of Aboriginal people’ was that they were ‘non-existent.’ We know very well that the 18th and 19th century British authorities fully recognized the existence of the Aboriginals but did not adequately understand the quality of their tribal and inter-tribal lifestyle. Thus they assumed that there was no government to deal with and that they had an obligation to bring civilization to a people viewed as ‘primitive.’
An authentic national vision will be both realistic and equitable. The Coalition and the ALP could co-operate on articulating this, with elections centering on different ways of promoting the shared ideals. We would then have a happier and calmer country.

Kim Scott, as a defender of Aboriginal culture, is right to advocate a collaborative and non-polemical approach to inter-ethnic relationships in Australia (‘Putting Indigenous heritage at heart of nation’s story’, 25/8); but his actual language (‘The colonisers grabbed the land’ and ‘people who the land was stolen from’) is polemical, simplistic and unhelpful.
From no person living today was any land stolen and the British settlers endeavoured from the start to co-operate with the Aboriginals and to befriend them. Mistakes and wrongful actions were committed by both sides. Finally, Scott is over-ambitious in wanting to ‘put Aboriginal identity at the centre of nation state identity.’ Australia is essentially, for better and worse, a British foundation.

Has America become the land of the special interest and home of the double standard?
Lets see: if we lie to the Congress, it’s a felony and if the Congress lies to us its just politics; if we dislike a black person, we’re racist and if a black dislikes whites, it’s their First Amendment right; the government spends millions to rehabilitate criminals and they do almost nothing for the victims; in public schools you can teach that homosexuality is OK, but you better not use the word God in the process; you can kill an unborn child, but it is wrong to execute a mass murderer; we don’t burn books in America, we now rewrite them; we got rid of the communist and the Socialist threat by renaming them progressives; we are unable to close our border with Mexico but have no problem protecting the 38th parallel in Korea; if you protest against President Obama’s policies you’re a terrorist but if you burned an American flag or George Bush in effigy it was your First Amendment right.
In the end, the wisdom of nature, and the cosmic powers that be, will win, and the light of natural order will shine through, whatever happens to our kind. Consider: things are now so bad in the US, and soon here in Australia as well, that most people now live from pay check to pay check, and have no spare money at all for emergencies, including prepping for the inevitable doomsday, which we all know is coming:

But, millennials are supporting socialism in places where it is collapsing fast, or has already collapsed, such as Venezuala, and presumably in the West as well, right up to the end:

Look, I will quote for you, for full dramatic impact:
It is all happening, rather quickly now. Following the adventures of the Alt Right in America, the ever politically correct Left have ramped up the volume on the removal of all things relating to white European history, especially British in Australia. This led to the meek squeak from John Howard, “not to rip up our proud history,” because British symbols represent the origins of this country: The Australian, August 25, 2017, p. 4; http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/dont-rip-up-our-proud-history-says-john-howard/news-story/4fd1189c540b7cf77bf8c302547626f5.
Well John, you could have done something about this, but instead you increased the immigration of Asians by record numbers beginning a displacement of traditional Australians as argued here: https://www.bookdepository.com/Howard-Legacy-Peter-Wilkinson/9780980400809

Alison Davies (28/8) wants to see same-sex marriage regarded as ‘normal’. Does she mean ‘average’ (the norm being the mean) or ‘right, true’? Only the latter could be applicable. Australia needs to get the answer right on this. Maggie Morgan (28/8) confuses equality before the law with ‘marriage equality’ and then claims that the plebiscite ‘is about equality and basic human rights.’ This doesn’t answer the concerns ‘no’ advocates have expressed about the interests of children and the interests of society. The plebiscite is actually about whether or not these interests trump those of same-sex attracted people. Maybe they do and sacred tradition is wise to insist that marriage should be viewed as the union of a man and a woman for the purpose of raising children securely to the ultimate benefit of society as a whole.

Rejection of ‘supernatural explanations’ of the universe and scornful descriptions of them as ‘a fairy tale’ (Letters, 28/8) fly in the face of abundant evidence that there is much more to human nature than positivistic science and the logical mind can see. First and foremost is their total inability to explain why there is a universe at all. ‘It just happened’ won’t do.
There is an enormous amount of convincing testimony from cultures worldwide over ten thousand years or more that intuition, conscience, inspiration, ‘the sixth sense’ and ‘second sight’ really do exist and afford vital guidance for individuals and societies. Through them the divine speaks to the human. We are more than we ordinarily perceive ourselves to be. That is why philosophical tradition in ancient Greece stressed the vital first requirement to ‘know oneself’ - to know, in fact, that one is far more than what first appears. The teaching of Jesus about the need for a ‘second birth’ makes the same point.
I tremble for Australia if the nation collectively turns its back on these windows to eternity.

Gasp…it seems that the super-rich are not content with a metaphorical draining of the blood of the young, but are now actually slurping, or rather, transfusing blood: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/item/347828f8-6e7f-4a9b-92ab-95f637a9dc2e.
Studies in mice have apparently shown that old mice get a new jolt of life when given young blood, so, since people are just big mice, according to some authorities, it must work in humans too. Of course, the treatment is controversial, but the parasitic, narcissistic baby boomers will do anything to keep their ugly hides together longer. Hopefully, the treatment will fail and the Earth and future generations will be rid of “my generation,” the worst to walk the planet:

What was the World War II generation doing while all of this was going on, the real war? Daddy, what were you doing AFTER the great war?
Play in the background “Food, Glorious Food”: from the musical Oliver (1995), based upon Charles Dickens’ classic novel Oliver Twist (1838). But today, replace “food’ with “fat.”
Showing that fat is a feminist issue: http://dailycaller.com/2017/08/24/feminist-professor-claims-fatness-is-liberatory-is-shocked-by-women-who-laughed-at-her/, Arizona State University Professor Breanne Fahs, a self-described “fat woman,” who teaches Women and Gender Studies at the said university, was surprised when the women in a survey she conducted thought that gaining 100 pounds was a negative thing, while she thought that getting fat was a “liberatory” experience. A “lavatory” experience would also be an option. Which just goes to show that one woman’s fat is another woman’s poison.
Australians, obviously enough, may not be able to feel the same intense disappointment which we American traditionalists, now feel about President Donald Trump. He was elected to stand up to the globalists, and the globalists like Soros and Obama have been working to destroy his presidency:

Here is Putin on Soros: “Make no mistake, his endgame is revolution through civil war. In America he is using exactly the same tactics he uses everywhere.” “George Soros is a well-known pyromaniac with matches in his back pocket pouring petrol onto a bonfire.” “He does not own the world and he does not have the right to do whatever he wants. The people must come together and reject this dragon. We have no room for his divisive politics in Russia, and I think you will all agree we are much the better for that. With all due respect, America must reject George Soros’s vision.” Putin regards Soros as a threat to Russian national security. Have a read what Soros thinks:
