Clexit Says “Trump must Dump Paris (and defund the UN climate industry)” by Viv Forbes

The International Clexit Coalition today joined the growing chorus urging President Trump to keep his election promises and dump every climate treaty “agreed” in Kyoto, Paris and the UN/IPCC.
The Secretary of Clexit (Climate Exit Coalition), Mr Viv Forbes of Australia, said that Clexit could call on over 190 well-qualified climate realists from 26 countries to provide scientific, business, legal and political support and advice.

Clexit Summary and Foundation statements:

Permission is given to reproduce this cartoon providing the source (www.clexit.net <http://www.clexit.net> ) and creator (Steve Hunter) are credited.

Mr Forbes said it was obvious from the Brexit vote in Britain, the election of President Trump in USA, the rise of Marine la Pen in France and Geert Wilders in Holland and the election of Senator Malcolm Roberts in Australia that the general population no longer trusts the globalists controlling the UN, the EU, and the UN/IPCC.
“The whole war on carbon is merely a grab for power using a world tax on energy to fund global government. Voters of the world are waking up and unless their politicians trim their sails to the new sceptical gale they will be swept from office.”

Impossible Matter: Supersolids by Brian Simpson

The League is always pleased to keep readers up-to-date with exciting scientific developments, well, at least those that I find interesting. Like “impossible” matter.
One recent paper, one of two, shows how to create matter which simultaneous has the properties of both a fluid and a solid is J. Li (et al.), “A Striped Phase with Supersolid Properties in Spin-Orbit-Coupled Bose-Einstein Condensates,” Nature, March 2, 2017. Unfortunately, you may not be able to create these weird quantum states in your kitchen, or out the back in the tool shed.

Cutting to the chase, Bose-Einstein condensates are a fifth state of matter, where atoms at super-cold temperatures begin to act like waves. Superfluids exist in ultra-cold states, near absolute zero, and have zero viscosity, flowing with no loss of kinetic energy. When stirred a superfluid continues to rotate indefinitely. Cool, eh?

The Green Socialist Pope on Population by Peter West

Now I would not want anyone to think that I am a religious bigot, but as a cradle Catholic, and one now departed from the faith, I believe I have the freedom to make stronger criticisms of Catholicism than my Protestant colleagues do.

All that out of the way, let us turn to the latest adventures of the no-hope Pope. I came from a traditional Latin mass Catholic family. That meant no contraception, openness to pregnancy in all sex, and ultimately large numbers of Catholics, to dilute the rest of the population, and keep numbers up on the pews. Sorry, but that is what it is in sociobiological terms. It is a rather cleaver evolutionary strategy.

Good News about Nuclear Destruction By James Reed

If you are like me, then you operate on the methodological principle that the truth must be the opposite of what the Greenies believe. Hence, they believe in global warming; so global cooling could be occurring. They believe in peak oil; so the world must be continuously making oil, coming from the deep crust and the molten core: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenic_petroleum_origin. This must be so because the oil wells, no longer being drawn down, will recharge their pressure. There is also the varying view of the age of the earth: https://answersingenesis.org/creationism/young-earth/young-earth-creationist-view-summarized-and-defended/.

Likewise for radioactivity and the nuclear threat. One of the main myths of the Left is that a nuclear war is not survivable, the Dr Strangelove (1964), and On the Beach (1959) thesis.  But, a very good refutation of this is made at http://www.goodnewnuke.com, which tells about nuclear destruction. The good news is that by use of civil defence methods, including bomb shelters, many people can survive nuclear war. A book dealing with this in more detail is Dr Bruce Clayton’s Life After Doomsday (1992), which has all the basics on surviving nukes: https://www.amazon.com/Life-After-Doomsday-Bruce-Clayton/dp/0873641752.
Then there are all the wildlife at Chernobyl who have returned, happy at  play the radioactive way: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/04/23/wildlife-returns-to-radioactive-wasteland-of-chernobyl/.
Take that, Greenies!

Green Enemies of the Environment by Viv Forbes

There was a time when true environmentalists strove to protect wild things. Now the green shirts have become enemies of the environment by pushing green energy and demonising the building blocks of life - carbon and carbon dioxide.

Wind turbines and their cobweb of connecting roads and transmission lines have destroyed native trees and grasses, scarred and uglified wild hilltops, and littered continental shelves with naval and aerial obstacles. They create wind and rain shadows and decimate resident and migratory birds and bats.

End Climate Propaganda

It’s time to stop wasting taxpayer funds on climate propaganda posing as “research”. In Australia, the CSIRO, BOM, government universities and media, federal state and local governments are all wasting our money trying to prove that the trace amount of colourless CO2 gas produced by human activities is producing dangerous global warming.
With a solidarity that makes North Korea look distinctly liberal, they have relentlessly claimed that “the science is settled”. This “fixed opinion”, supported by a deluge of government cash and media control means that open-minded research is impossible – all we get is one-eyed propaganda, doctored data and vilification of sceptics.

Worldwide, taxpayers have financed over 100 computer models needing massive computers with a well-paid priesthood all trying (unsuccessfully) to forecast global climate trends. If they worked, one is enough. Bigger, faster more expensive computers using the same failed Greenhouse assumptions just get the wrong answers faster. In addition there are the frequent climate conferences where well-financed bureaucrats and government propagandists get re-cycled through the world’s smartest cities seeking powerful roles for themselves in collecting carbon taxes and dispensing climate aid.
This vast expenditure has failed to forecast or change world climate, but has taken funds from the infrastructure needed to cope with inevitable recurring natural disasters such as floods, fires, droughts or earthquakes. In fact, the paranoiac focus on the supposed dangers of global warming has left the world more vulnerable to the biggest climate risk – global cooling. And it has starved research on bigger climate factors such as solar and ice age cycles, deep sea volcanism, plate tectonics and massive oceanic weather events like El Nino.
President Trump is right. All government expenditure on anything with “climate” in its title or mission statement should be scrapped immediately.

Reliable Energy - Weather or Not by Viv Forbes

We are told, incessantly, that man’s use of hydrocarbon fuels will cause climate catastrophe, with more droughts, heat waves, bush-fires, floods, blizzards, snow storms, typhoons, hurricanes, super-storms and “weird” weather. Why then would governments compound these claimed risks by pushing weather-dependent energy like wind, solar, hydro or tidal power?
During heatwaves on sultry summer afternoons, wind power fails when our cold rooms, fridges and air-conditioners need it most. And overheating turbines start bushfires. On cold still winter nights, wind and solar will produce zero power when all the trains, heaters, TV sets and coffee machines are sucking energy at the end of a footy match.

In a gale, turbines switch off to avoid damage; in still air they sit idle; in a snow storm they consume power to prevent icing up; and in a tsunami, offshore wind turbines and tidal generators are destroyed.
Solar panels shut down every night; their output varies even when the sun shines; they are blotted out by snow, clouds or dust; and are smashed by hail stones.
Even mighty hydro-power will fail if we suffer the never-ending Flannery Droughts. So if the alarmists are right, and if we are faced with wild weather FOR ANY REASON, we can’t trust weather-dependent energy.
Stick to reliable hydro-carbons – coal, oil and gas, and for dire emergencies - diesel.
They will produce electricity, weather-or-not.

Would The Nukes Even Work? by Brian Simpson

It seems that a malfunction occurred with a British nuclear missile, a Trident II DS missile fired from a nuclear submarine off the coast of Florida in June last year. The missile, which was unarmed at the time, veered in the wrong direction towards America. That obviously could have set off a global nuclear war.  Downing Street covered the disaster up, until now, so that a House of Commons vote on the missile system would not be disrupted. Ah, corruption, it’s everywhere.
Apart from that, it makes one wonder, if push comes to shove, would the nukes even work, especially if spare parts are needed from China?

The Delusional War on Warmth by Viv Forbes

For decades, global warming scaremongers have been stealing energy from the environment using windmills, solar collectors and biofuels, force-fed by carbon taxes and emission trading schemes. Their delusional dream is to cool the globe.
However, there has been no global warming for nearly 20 years. Right now, the great ice sheets are growing thicker and record snow is blanketing much of the climate change leader – the Northern hemisphere landmass. Solar panels are blinded by snow, and turbines don’t turn in the cold still air or have to be shut down because of icing or high winds. Like all green things, wind and solar power often hibernate in winter.

Meanwhile, the un-loved all-weather energy producers (coal, gas and nuclear) are straining at their limits, as families huddle around heaters fearing the first flickers of failure from overloaded power grids.
No food is produced from land smothered in snow – farmers fear late frosts and welcome early spring rains and warmth.
For the last million years, Earth has experienced long cycles of ice separated by short warm inter-glacials. Today’s warm era is already a mature twelve thousand years old and Earth’s climate is fluctuating naturally towards the next glacial cycle in which many animals and plants will perish. Only fools would assist the return of the ice.
Warmists are making a massive mistake by assuming that global cooling is better than global warming. They are ignoring their precious “Precautionary Principle”.
A frigid ice-house is far more dangerous and destructive than a warm greenhouse.

Power China plans to build a new gas-fired power station in SA

From the Adelaide Advertiser  Jan 2  2017

Power China plans to build a new gas-fired power station in SA, costing an estimated $350m.  Probably near Port Augusta.  Plans still in initial stages.

A bid for NSW Ausgrid by China Government owned State Grid Corporate and Hong Kong listed Cheung Kong Infrastructure (CKI) was blocked in August by treasurer Scott Morrison who cited national interest concerns.
CKI and an associate company own 51% of SA Power Networks (SAPN) and State Grid Corporate owns 46.5% of Electranet.

What was so wrong with the recently closed coal-fired power station (located at Port Augusta) being converted to natural gas or even coal seam gas?
When you pay your power bills, remember where most of the money finally resides!
Well done Jay!

Disarm and Defund the Green Globalists NOW

Napoleon’s Grand Army was defeated in the Battle of the Nations in 1813. The Emperor abdicated and was banished to Elba. But his army was not disarmed and destroyed by the victors. Just 2 years later, Napoleon escaped and quickly re-mobilised his army. Only Wellington blocked his path to Brussels, at Waterloo. After a fierce day of battle, a weary line of redcoats still held the ridge at Waterloo. But Napoleon’s Old Guard had been held in reserve for this decisive moment. Advancing like a spear, three columns wide, “The Invincibles” aimed to pierce the middle of the thin red line.

But a miracle occurred. Withering fire on both sides of the spear from the thin red line sapped their strength - Napoleon’s Old Guard broke and ran. This was the critical point of that battle (and for the Climate War now). It is at the moment of defeat, with the enemy disorganised and demoralised, that the greatest gains can be made. Too often, however, the weary victors waste this opportunity to pursue and destroy the enemy.

Wellington’s exhausted army was incapable of pursuit, but a miracle occurred – General Blucher arrived at sundown with fresh Prussian troops. The avenging German lancers pursued, captured, disarmed and slaughtered the fleeing French all the way back to Paris. Never again did the Grand Army threaten Europe. In the global Climate Wars, Trump and Brexit have given us a victory of Waterloo dimensions. But this will be only a temporary setback for the Green Globalists unless they are now ruthlessly disarmed and de-funded. If we rest and relax, we will soon be ground under their green sandals again.

Refuting the Laws of Physics? by Brian Simpson

When one hears of inventions that alleged violate the fundamental laws of physics, scientists generally dismiss such claims as being by “cranks”.
Yet the EMDrive which breaks one fundamental law of physics has been tested by NASA and found to work one team believes: H. White (et al.), “Measurement of Impulsive Thrust from a Closed Radio-Frequency Cavity in Vacuum,” Journal of Propulsion and Power (2016).

The EMDrive consists of a box that is propelled without fuel used to cause a chemical reaction, by virtue of electro-magnet waves bouncing inside the box. Newton’s law of the conservation of movement holds that the box should not move without an external force being applied, as does Newton’s third law of motion: “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” But propulsion of a craft without a reaction would be impossible, but according to NASA, seems to occur.

The Social “Cost” of Carbon is Positive by Viv Forbes

Nothing better illustrates the stupidity and evil intent of Green philosophy than their promotion of a mythical guestimate called the “social cost of carbon” (SCC). They use this bureaucratic weapon to demonise the fabulous fossil fuels that deliver food, heat, light and power to the modern world.
Let’s consider life before coal, oil and gas were harnessed.
There was no steel and no cars, tractors, trucks, trains, planes or electric power. It was a world of sulkies, sailing boats and sun-dried food. Hunters used bows and spears, farmers used oxen and wooden ploughs and threshed grain with wooden flails. Half of all crops grown went to feed draft animals. Forests surrounding towns were felled for firewood, charcoal, shingles, houses, ships, wagons and bridges. Whalers scoured the oceans to produce whale oil for lamps, and dung was collected for fuel. For most people, life was one of hunger and toil.

Fossil fuels changed all this and also brought many other social benefits.
Greens seem unaware that “carbon” coming from man-made CO2 is beneficial plant food supporting all life on Earth including polar bears, cane toads, prickly pear, rain forests and wheat.
Moreover, in those countries which use the most hydro-carbons (such as USA, UK and Australia) we see prosperous people, trees protected, whales revered, arts thriving, cleaner air and water, and agriculture producing more food and oxygen from less land.
The SCC is a fraud – carbon fuels have produced immense social benefits and will continue to do so.

Why Big Mining loves Big Green by Viv Forbes

The Labor/Green coalition in Australia has declared war on coal, oil and gas. So why is Big Mining not fighting back?
BHP Billiton is a big producer of coal, oil, gas, iron ore, copper, nickel and uranium. Rio Tinto is a big producer of uranium, coal, iron ore, copper and aluminium. Glencore is a big producer of coal, copper, zinc and nickel. And Shell is big in oil, gas and bitumen, manufactures biofuels, and generates peak power with natural gas.

These companies employ competent geologists, physicists and chemists who could tell them that CO2 is not a pollutant and is not the primary driver of climate. They must know there is no scientific justification for the green war on hydro-carbon fuels - but none of these big miners speak out against this baseless war on their products. Some even waste shareholder funds producing glossy brochures promoting the green agenda.
Big Mining is not that dumb. Their climate concern is more motivated by self-interest - they see long-term profits flowing from the silly green agenda. They are also political cowards.

CO2 levels data from the ice ages makes a laughing stock of global warming. It needs more attention.

By: Ref: http://www.climatedepot.com/2013/05/14/co2-nears-400-ppm-relax-its-not-global-warming-end-times-but-only-a-big-yawn-climate-depot-special-report/

...Scientists also note that geologically speaking, the Earth is currently in a “CO2 famine” and that the geologic record reveals that ice ages have occurred when CO2 was at 2000 ppm to as high as 8000ppm. In addition, peer-reviewed studies have documented that there have been temperatures similar to the present day on Earth when carbon dioxide was up to twenty times higher than today’s levels. And, a peer-reviewed study this year found that the present day carbon dioxide level of 400 ppm was exceeded — without any human influence — 12,750 years ago when CO2 may have reached up to 425 ppm.

Clean Green Batteries? by Viv Forbes

Greens and technically challenged scribes apparently believe that battery-powered cars and planes are exciting new clean “zero-emissions” vehicles. There is little new about batteries – battery powered cars were running on British roads over a century ago - they were pushed out of the market by petrol power. Batteries just store energy made elsewhere and all have a finite life. Every battery needs primary energy and resources for production, recharging, replacing and recycling, and every step produces its own emissions.

Batteries require lots of expensive raw materials - lead, calcium, nickel, cadmium, lithium, hydrogen, plus ancillary copper, steel, zinc, aluminium and plastic. All need primary energy like coal or gas for mining, manufacture, construction, recharging and recycling plus coking coal for smelting metals. Even wind and solar are not emissions-free once construction, maintenance, and life cycle replacement are fully accounted for.
All cars, even Green ones, need road maintenance using bitumen, concrete and diesel-powered machinery, all costing money and producing emissions. Green cars also need recharging stations, demanding more metals.
Batteries have an important place in our lives. But they are not “emissions free”.

Letter-to-the-Editor/Opinion Piece: Defund all CSIRO Climate Propaganda “Research”

It’s time to defund all CSIRO climate activities.
For years now CSIRO and their UN/IPCC puppet-masters have claimed that “climate science is settled”. If so, why are Australian governments still wasting some $150M annually on creating climate scares and producing propaganda for a political war on carbon energy and carbon dioxide?
Australia should cease all government funding for global warming “research” and carbon-centric climate models and leave the honest, useful and difficult business of weather forecasting to the BOM, which should revert to its once-proud name and role as “The Weather Bureau”.
The neurotic focus of Australian politicians and their research puppets on the UN man-made global warming agenda has starved useful research into real factors that do affect global climate. These include cycles and oscillations in solar activity, cosmic rays and clouds, crustal and magmatic movements, volcanic eruptions, and the periodic changes in planetary orbits and axial tilts within the solar system.

Australia is an island surrounded by the vast oceans of the Southern Hemisphere. But CSIRO is mesmerised by atmospheric greenhouse mirages and largely ignores the causes and timing of ENSO oscillations, the amount and locations of submarine volcanism, and the timing, drivers and locations of deep ocean currents and upwellings.
If CSIRO and the government Universities cannot do such basic research in our region their funds should be diverted to the deficit, or applied to weather-proofing our infrastructure.

Letter-to-the-Editor/Opinion Piece

Ref: http://clexit.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/grasslands.pdf
The Battle for our Grasslands and Livestock
Grasslands and arable land cover just 10% of Earth’s surface but (with the oceans) they produce all of our food and fibre. But the productivity and health of our grasslands, farms and livestock are under threat from global warming alarmists and green preservationists.
We are afflicted by methane madness. It is poor public policy that condones restrictions on grazing operations, or taxes on grazing animals, based on disputed theories that claim that bodily emissions from farm animals will cause dangerous global warming.
New Zealand was the first country to propose a “livestock fart tax”. Four hundred farmers then drove 20 tractors to the Parliament in Wellington waving placards and banners saying “STOP THE FART TAX”. The proposal was laughed out of Parliament. But the war on farmers and livestock continues.

Ruminants such as sheep, cattle and goats cannot make long-term additions to the gases in the atmosphere - they just recycle atmospheric carbon and nitrogen nutrients in a cycle-of-life that has operated for millennia
Grazing ruminant animals with their emission products have always been part of healthy grasslands. Only when large numbers of animals are confined on the one patch of land do pollution problems appear.

Many otherwise genuine environmentalists are assisting the destruction of grasslands with their native pastures and endangered grass birds. Blinded by their love for the trees, they neglect the grasses, legumes, herbs and livestock that provide their food. In Australia they pass laws to protect weedy eucalypts invading the grasslands but ignore the valuable and declining Mitchell grass that once dominated Australia’s treeless plains.
Grasslands are also under threat from cultivation for biofuel crops, from subsidised carbon credit forests and from the remorseless encroachment of fire-prone government reserves and pest havens.

Trying to control atmospheric gases with taxes is futile and anti-life. Even if carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere doubled, or more, the climate effect if any, is probably beneficial (warmer at night and near the poles and with more moisture in the atmosphere). More importantly, all life on Earth already benefits from the additional CO2 plant nutrient in the atmosphere, and would benefit even more were CO2 levels to double.
Nitrogen is the most abundant natural gas in the atmosphere, inhaled in every breath and an essential component of all protein. Grazing livestock merely recycle a few compounds of nitrogen, all of which either return to the atmosphere or provide valuable nitrogen fertilisers for the plants they graze on.

We also have the modern methane madness. Mobs of grazing ruminants have been roaming the grasslands since cave-man days. Methane has also been seeping from marshes, bubbling out of oceans, leaking from coal seams and oil seeps and being released in huge quantities from volcanoes. So what more can a few domestic cows and sheep do to affect this? Methane from domestic ruminants is a non-problem.
It is a foolish and costly fantasy to believe that Earth’s climate can be controlled by passing laws, imposing taxes, attempting to manipulate the bodily emissions of farm animals or trying to prevent farmers from clearing woody weeds invading their pastures.

The Clexit (ClimateExit) Coalition, comprising over 190 representatives from 26 countries, has formed the Clexit Grassland Protection Group with nine representatives from five big grazing countries.
This is an important problem. We hope you choose to publish part or all of our report. At least we hope you will read it.
Viv Forbes
