The second thing is that some of the young people feel hopeless, that they don’t do well in school and that they feel that there is no place for them in society”, the Interior Minister concluded.

         There could be some excitement on the horizon to liven up the rather boring life of Earthlings. Nothing like a good old fashioned alien invasion by little green men, to spice things up. Let me explain.

         It would be the stuff of a “great” adventure movie; a group of terrorists, who by definition must be Nordic blondes, maybe Germans, hack into the US power grid and threaten to bring it down. A group of multicultural heroes assemble, and save the day, after having sex with all the blonde female villains, who then turn “good,” so that obese people can go back to playing video games. Anyone out there interested in a film script for this potential blockbuster?

Susan Rennie engages in much special pleading to try to justify a change of date for Australia Day ("Darebin not anti-Australia Day, just January 26"). She claims that the City of Darebin Council is "simply opposed to celebrating our national identity on a date that is not inclusive and respectful of First Nations peoples." In reality the council seeks to change Australians' sense of that identity and, eventually, the very nature of our constitution and political order.
