It is now the aftermath of the Charlottesville riots. If you read only the mainstream media, you would be reading that a group of neo-Nazis bashed poor innocent antifa folks, who were holding flowers, and then a crazed killer drove around killing people in his Mad Max car, or nearly that bad.

     Let’s start with the killing of Heather Heyer by 20-year-old James Alex Fields. Of course, the media was quick to portray this tragic event as a deliberate murder by a Nazi. Fields may or may not have been a Nazi, but it does not follow that he committed murder, and nor does this annul his legal rights. There is a case that he was attacked by antifa prior to the event and sped off to save himself, accidentally killing Heyer:

These cities host significant Muslim populations; and politicians -- the same who frantically are enacting mandatory multiculturalism -- want to please “Islam”. It is now a “feminist” talking point to advocate sharia policy, as does Linda Sarsour. The result is that, today, few feminists dare to criticize Islam.
It is happening everywhere. Dutch municipalities are “advising” their employees to not wear mini-skirts. There are women-only hours at Swedish swimming pools. German schools are sending letters to parents asking children to avoid wearing “revealing clothes”.
The first to suggest calling for a ban on posters or advertisements that “reduce women or men to sexual objects” was German Justice Minister Heiko Maas, a Social Democrat.”

     In news that should worry all Australians, the Coalition government has today told public servants that they can be sacked for their political opinions.  From The Australian:

The Turnbull government will today seek to impose restrictions on public servants criticising the Coalition on social media, warning that employees risk disciplinary action for “liking” anti-government posts or privately emailing negative material to a friend from home.
Documents obtained by The Australian show public servants would also be warned they could be in breach of the public service code of conduct if they do not remove “nasty comments” about the government posted by others on the employee’s Facebook page.

     A recent article has noted that about sixty percent of US respondents in two surveys want to stop all legal and illegal immigration. The polls, which gave people the freedom to voice their real thoughts, surprisingly showed that white American college graduates are more, not less, opposed to immigration than the average American. Almost three-of-four white liberals hide their preference for zero net immigration, and they are more likely than moderates and conservatives in doing this. In fact, 71 percent of liberals support immigration restriction. That is good, but it will do nothing unless these people take action, and they are unlikely to do so, because it would threaten their jobs and creature comforts.

     Now to Australia. An article in Quadrant, July 26, 2017, E. R. It’s time for that to change. We need to reassert our self-determination. That means we need to revisit the treaties, agreements and pacts of decades past to make sure they are working in our interest.
Let’s review them to see if they are achieving what we thought they would. We could start with the UNHCR refugee treaty. It was written in 1951 and the driving forces and key players have changed since then.
Just as every prudent person would insist that every contract has a termination or review date, so too should we insist on reviewing our government’s international agreements at regular intervals.

     Migrants in Australia, we are told, have delivered an almost four-fold increase in employment growth between 2011 and 2016: The Australian, July 21, 2017, p. 7.  It though is a Ponzi scheme, with the growth being caused by migrants anyway, who tend to be put into what jobs are available. The claim is made that the only jobs lost are those of the unskilled, but this is manifestly untrue, because local skilled also miss out, such as some university graduates.

There is considerable flexibility in the economy to absorb workers, and to not require more for increased output. More efficiency is simply squeezed out of existing workers.      Many centuries ago, I grew up on a pig farm in Queensland. My old man, who was a bigger drunk than even I would be, decided that it would make sense to feed the pigs on food scraps from supermarkets, stores and even fish shops, to have more money for booze.  So, after school, in my school uniform, we would go and collect the waste, tipping the scraps onto the tray of an old FC Holden (remember them?) ute. Kids would viciously humiliate me, identifying me as filth and scrap. My father enjoyed this, sitting in the car, having yet another beer, in anticipation of the big drinking session with his mates after about 5.30 pm, once the 6 o’clock swill ended in the 1960s.

     To save money so that the maximum amount of alcohol could be consumed, we ate what scraps we could salvage from the ute. I did grow food when I got older, and searched for wild bush food and shot the odd bunny, so eventually this humiliation was phased out, especially after I refused to help any more, after I stuck up for my mother in conversation against him while we were at a farmer’s supply centre, and he struck me in the head with a large padlock, leading me unconscious to die on the railway track. When I regained consciousness, I ran into the centre, where he was having a beer with some guys, and hit him in the nose with all my might, then ran. That was my first night on the streets, the start of lifetime of homelessness.  Life is wonderful, isn’t it?
