Would China Lie to Us? By Paul Walker

There is a song by the pop group the Eurythmics, which always reminded me of a form of contraception, consisting of the weird Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, who formed in Wagga Wagga in 1980. They have a song Would I Lie to You? which always invited one to sing back; of course, you bloody well would! That applies to China now:

  https://www.naturalnews.com/2020-04-26-did-china-cover-up-the-deaths-of-millions-from-coronavirus.html

“A social media sensation is drawing attention to herself once again with new claims that the Chinese government is lying about the number of people in China who have died from the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). According to Ruomei Zhou, who first became popular on Twitter after calling on all of China to apologize to the United States for polluting it with the virus, millions, not thousands, of people have died in China due to complications associated with the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). While the communist Chinese regime claims that just under 5,000 people have died there from the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19), Zhou says that as many as five million people have actually died, and that a major coverup is taking place. Chinese authorities admit that early on the count of people who died at home and in hospitals was probably too low because of tracking failures. But the official tally of deaths is nowhere close to what Zhou is claiming. Sky News, however, seems to agree with her. The news outlet says that the British government was informed that China was spreading disinformation about the actual number of deaths, and that the country “lied about the extent of their own outbreak by a factor of 40.” Intelligence officials here in the U.S. also reportedly told the White House that the Chinese government has been playing games with its Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) numbers to make it appear as though the death count is far lower than it actually is. Even Caixin, a media outlet based out of China, reported on thousands of urns that were supposedly spotted in Wuhan, the epicenter of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19).”

The Wuhan Flu, Flew By Charles Taylor

When my academic friend in Florida got his book banned, I said that he should just write about the Wuhan flu, and not the coronavirus, and if he knew more about what the Chinese did in their lab, he would surely agree:
  https://www.zerohedge.com/health/renowned-microbiologist-claims-wuhan-lab-did-absolutely-crazy-things-coronavirus

“A world renowned Russian microbiologist says that the novel coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic was the result of Wuhan scientists doing "absolutely crazy things" in their laboratory. Dr. Peter Chumakov of the Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology and Russian Academy of Sciences claims that while the Wuhan scientists' goal in creating the coronavirus was not malicious - instead, they were trying to study the pathogenicity of the virus, according to the Daily Mail. "In China, scientists at the Wuhan Laboratory have been actively involved in the development of various coronavirus variants for over ten years," he said. "Moreover, they did this, supposedly not with the aim of creating pathogenic variants, but to study their pathogenicity." "They did absolutely crazy things, in my opinion," he said, adding " For example, inserts in the genome, which gave the virus the ability to infect human cells. Now all this has been analyzed." 'The picture of the possible creation of the current coronavirus is slowly emerging.' He told Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper: 'There are several inserts, that is, substitutions of the natural sequence of the genome, which gave it special properties. 'It is interesting that the Chinese and Americans who worked with them published all their works in the open (scientific) press. 'I even wonder why this background comes to people very slowly. 'I think that an investigation will nevertheless be initiated, as a result of which new rules will be developed that regulate the work with the genomes of such dangerous viruses. 'It's too early to blame anyone.' -Daily Mail

Random Testing and the Coronavirus: Evidential Limits by Professor John Ioannidis By Brian Simpson

Here is evidence that the coronavirus is not another black death, dangerous to certain sectors of the population, but still so widespread that many people have antibodies to it and did not know until randomly tested:
  https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/21/health/coronavirus-antibodies-california.html

“Two new studies using antibody tests to assess how many people have been infected with the coronavirus have turned up numbers higher than some experts had expected. Both studies were performed in California: one among residents of Santa Clara County, south of San Francisco, and the other among residents of Los Angeles County. In both cases, the estimates of the number of people infected in those counties were far higher than the number of confirmed cases. The studies, conducted by public health officials and scientists at Stanford University and the University of Southern California, have earned the ire of critics who questioned both the recruitment methods and the analyses. In the Santa Clara County study, researchers tested 3,330 volunteers for antibodies indicating exposure to the virus. Roughly 1.5 percent were positive. After adjustments intended to account for differences between the sample and the population of the county as a whole, the researchers estimated that the prevalence of antibodies was between 2.5 percent and a bit more than 4 percent. The county’s population is 1.9 million. That means that 48,000 to 81,000 people were infected with the coronavirus in Santa Clara County by early April, the investigators concluded. In Los Angeles County, researchers conducted tests at drive-through sites and at participants’ homes and estimated that 2.8 percent to 5.6 percent of the county’s adult population carried antibodies to the coronavirus. There are 10.4 million people in Los Angeles County. If accurate, that would mean that 220,000 to 442,000 residents had been exposed. By comparison, only 8,000 cases had been confirmed in the county by early April, when the testing was done. While finding volunteers was not difficult, it’s not clear how representative they were of the populations at large.

Rich Rats Have Deserted this Sinking Ship By John Steele

I have been reporting on the elites buying up bolt holes in New Zealand for a SHTF moment. That time has come; in fact, they were off the starting gate even before IT started flying, which shows how money can buy survival, and survival in style, not the sort that yours truly goes by in his tent out in the scrub. Some news reports had it that the socialist femo government of NZ had clamped down on this buy up, but, like the rest of the West, everything is one big fire sale now:
  https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/rich-americans-escaped-luxury-doomsday-resort-shelters-new-zealand-panic-grew

“New Zealand has become the 'doomsday resort' and #1 pandemic escape destination for America's rich. Those in Silicon Valley or Manhattan lucky enough to have caught the last international flights into Auckland before borders were shut to foreign travelers late last month — to say nothing of the uptick in private jets landing in the country even days after the ban took effect — in many cases for the first time moved into their multi-million dollar specially designed luxury doomsday bunkers. Bloomberg profiles how rich Americans escaped in droves just as US coronavirus cases began to explode, arriving in isolated and beautiful New Zealand over 1,000 miles off Australia's southern coast — and among the least impacted countries on the earth, currently at a little over 1,400 COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths, out of a population of almost 5 million. As coronavirus infections tore across the U.S. in early March, a Silicon Valley executive called the survival shelter manufacturer Rising S Co. He wanted to know how to open the secret door to his multimillion-dollar bunker 11 feet underground in New Zealand," the Bloomberg story begins dramatically enough. “He went out to New Zealand to escape everything that’s happening,” Gary Lynch, general manager of Rising S Co., described of one elite bunker owner. “And as far as I know, he’s still there.” The Texas-based company specializing in high-tech luxury survival bunkers and homes has multiple such clients moving into what are often their third or fourth homes designed specifically for just such an apocalyptic pandemic or other scenario. “For years, New Zealand has featured prominently in the doomsday survival plans of wealthy Americans worried that, say, a killer germ might paralyze the world,” writes Bloomberg. The report describes further: Rising S Co. has planted about 10 private bunkers in New Zealand over the past several years. The average cost is $3 million for a shelter weighing about 150 tons, but it can easily go as high as $8 million with additional features like luxury bathrooms, game rooms, shooting ranges, gyms, theaters and surgical beds. The ultra-wealthy have long bet that New Zealand would be the safest place in the world to hunker down during a global crisis, and so far that bet is proving right.”

America’s Immigration Pause? By Charles Taylor (Florida)

Trump has implemented an immigration pause, with so many exceptions that it will probably be business as usual. Still, the thought counts, or does it?
  https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/04/21/republicans-show-support-for-trumps-immigration-order-citing-millions-of-jobless-americans/

“Republicans seem mostly supportive of President Donald Trump’s announcement that he would temporarily suspend legal immigration into the United States to protect Americans from the coronavirus and a flooded job market when more than 22 million workers are unemployed. Details about the expected executive order are not clear, but despite Democrats slamming Trump for dismissing the contributions of some foreign workers, Bloomberg News reported it obtained a draft of the order, which includes exceptions for people working directly in the supply chain and also those working in health care or as medical research professionals. In a statement, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany described the order as aimed at protecting both the “health and economic well-being of American citizens as we face unprecedented times,” the Daily Journal reported. “At a time when Americans are looking to get back to work, action is necessary,” McEnany said. Thomas Homan, Trump’s former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told Reuters: “It’s really not about immigration. It’s about the pandemic and keeping our country safer while protecting opportunities for unemployed Americans.”

Vaccination Ideology and Tennis By Mrs Vera West

Here is what happens to someone questioning the vaccination world bview, even if that person is at the top of the tennis tree, or is it racket?
  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-8236039/Novak-Djokovics-reluctance-halt-world-No-1s-tennis-career-post-coronavirus-crisis.html

“World No 1 Novak Djokovic's opposition to vaccines could stand in the way of his return to tennis when it eventually it resumes following the coronavirus pandemic. A push is growing for all players to be vaccinated when tennis starts again, provided one is produced by then. Former world No 1 Amelie Mauresmo last month said tennis should not resume unless players can be vaccinated, although the scientific community has repeatedly said that may be a year away. 'Personally I am opposed to vaccination and I wouldn't want to be forced by someone to take a vaccine in order to be able to travel,' Djokovic said in a live Facebook chat with several fellow Serbian athletes on Sunday. But if it becomes compulsory, what will happen? I will have to make a decision. 'I have my own thoughts about the matter and whether those thoughts will change at some point, I don't know. 'Hypothetically, if the season was to resume in July, August or September, though unlikely, I understand that a vaccine will become a requirement straight after we are out of strict quarantine and there is no vaccine yet.'”

Corona Riots Begin By Richard Miller

The World Health Organization, which for the moment has taken top spot of hatred of all Dissent Righter like me, does not want their coronavirus lockdowns to be lifted … under pain of the virus getting a second life:
  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8239301/WHO-warns-lifting-coronavirus-lockdowns-gradual.html

“The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said rushing to ease coronavirus restrictions will likely lead to a resurgence of the illness. The warning comes as governments across the world start rolling out plans to get their economies up and running again. Dr Takeshi Kasai, the WHO regional director for the Western Pacific, said: 'This is not the time to be lax. Instead, we need to ready ourselves for a new way of living for the foreseeable future.' He said governments must remain vigilant to stop the spread of the virus and the lifting of lockdowns and other social distancing measures must be done gradually and strike the right balance between keeping people healthy and allowing economies to function. Australia said it will allow the resumption of non-urgent surgeries from next week as health authorities grow more confident that hospitals there will not be overwhelmed by Covid-19 patients. The reopenings come as politicians grow weary of soaring unemployment and the prospect of economic depression. Asian shares followed Wall Street lower on Tuesday after US oil futures plunged below zero because of a worldwide glut as factories, with cars and aeroplanes not being used. The cost to have a barrel of US crude delivered in May plummeted to negative $37.63 as traders run out of places to store it. It was at roughly $60 at the start of the year. Businesses which start operating again in the US are likely to engender goodwill with President Donald Trump at a time when his administration is doling out billions of dollars in relief to companies.”

Mutual Obligations? A Contradiction in Terms By James Cook

In the 1980s the term ‘mutual obligation’ [MO] was used in a way which caused me some concern. It was claimed by a ‘roads bureaucrat’ that the weighbridge operator had a ‘mutual obligation’ to report farmers whose
trucks arrived overloaded, before unloading at the wheat silos. This type of reporting was, in my opinion, very un-Australian and borders on ‘citizen’s surveillance’ found in totalitarian regimes. There was no thought of forgiveness because the farmer had to load as much as possible of his crop into the silo to avoid delays by weather or other harvesting problems. The same expression was used last week in relation to the government’s COVID-19 assistance packages, so I Googled ‘mutual obligation’ to find a recent definition and came across the attached article and appended below. We should be very concerned! The personal experience of the author navigating the bureaucratic labyrinths of Centrelink would be daunting to the most pugnacious citizen seeking help in a time of need. The concept of ‘MO’ today has its roots in a poorly devised financial system more in keeping with George Orwell’s Animal Farm, where all animals are equal but some are more equal than others.

Are there any realistic solutions to the dilemma which so many people find themselves in this reputedly wealthy Australia? There certainly is and it has been known for 100 years but almost completely hidden from
public view! The solutions can be found in two Social Credit financial policies. These should not to be confused with the Chinese variety of ‘social credit’ that is the antithesis of Social Credit formulated by C.H. Douglas. The first policy is known as ‘The Just Price’. It puts the brakes on financial Inflation by balancing the cost of goods and services between the manufacturer and consumer, thus putting value into the ‘People’s Money’. It is a policy which eliminates Inflation which is the ‘root-cause’ of ‘evil centralisation’ leading to destructive business practises of amalgamation, rationalisation, unforgiving debt, and finally bankruptcy. The second Social Credit Policy formulated by
C.H. Douglas is ‘The National Dividend’—it is a payment made to all citizens as a ‘Right’ to their enjoyment of a wealthy Nation. Australia is a very wealthy Nation by world standards and if it was a ‘corporation’ we would expect Australia to be paying handsome dividends to its shareholders--but it is not! Adopting these policies alone would make no end of improvement to the well-being of people like the author of ‘Life on the Breadline’ and end the bureaucratic bullying to enforce ‘mutual obligation’. These two policies alone would make families stronger by reducing violence and deprivation to women and children. It would reduce the demand for higher pay and have a beneficial effect on employment and business management, because consumers could be sure their dollar was worth the same every day, year in, year out. Neither would be Inflationary because the policies are based on the ability of ‘national affordability’ only. Further discussion of the finer mechanics of implementation will only lead to obfuscation in the voter's mind and let their political Representatives evade their responsibilities of supporting desirable voter policies. Social Credit ‘financial policies’ are complimentary to the concept of a ‘Basic Income for All’ or ‘BIG’--but far better because Social Credit demands policy financing should be in the form of ‘credits’ rather than ‘debts’. There is no need to delve into the realm of Finance here other than YOU demand better results from your elected Representative or else change the way you have voted in the past, otherwise you will only receive more of the same.

President Michelle Obama By Charles Taylor

This may be what is going on with the push to have senile old Joe Biden as president: he will not be, serving only as a place holder for the likes of Michelle Obama, or some clone:
  https://www.zerohedge.com/political/joe-biden-would-pick-michelle-obama-running-mate-heartbeat

“Joe Biden says he'd pick Michelle Obama to be his running mate with no hesitation, though he says he doubts she'd be interested in the position, according to The Hill. "I'd take her in a heartbeat," said the former Vice President during a Monday interview with Pittsburgh's KDKA on Monday. "She's brilliant. She knows the way around. She is a really fine woman. The Obamas are great friends." No word on whether he thinks Michelle would be 'the first mainstream African-Amerian who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking woman' - praise he showered on Barack Obama in 2007. Talk of the former First Lady joining Biden on the ticket was given new life over the weekend after a Saturday Op-Ed in the New York Post posited that the Obamas could have eight more years in the White House if Michelle became Biden's VP, and on January 21, 2021, "On live television, Joe and Dr. Jill Biden tearfully announce that the 78-year-old president is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,” and that under the 25th Amendment, he’s resigning. Michelle Obama is now president of the United States and will not only fill out Biden’s term but will retain her eligibility to run again in her own right in 2024 when she will have turned 60." So while it may not be Michelle Obama, Biden says he's committed to picking a woman as his running mate - though he didn't comment on whether she will be a minority. "I'll commit to that [it will] be a woman because it is very important that my administration look like the public, look like the nation. And there will be, committed that there will be a woman of color on the Supreme Court, that doesn't mean there won't be a vice president, as well," he said. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said last week in an interview with MSNBC's Rachel Maddow she would say yes if Biden asked her to be vice president, and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) said last week she would be "honored" if she were being considered as Biden's running mate. Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has also said she would like to serve as vice president. Abrams told Elle magazine last week she would make an "excellent" running mate for Biden. Biden also confirmed earlier this month that he is considering Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) for the spot. -The Hill”

China Gloats, the US Bloats, Australia, Notes By James Reed

All hail mighty China, leader of the unfree world; we are but primitive savages before your majesty, or words to that effect:
  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8240963/The-no-match-China-Beijings-state-media-compares-America-primitive-society.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailus

“A Chinese newspaper has slammed America's handling of the coronavirus crisis and compared the US to 'a primitive society' in a recent opinion article. Beijing's state media Global Times claimed that the US is 'no match for China in terms of anti-epidemic organization and mobilization' in a column published on Sunday. The startling comment was followed by another opinion piece in which the newspaper declared that 'American democracy is dying'. It comes as Chinese officials stated yesterday that the enemy of the US is the coronavirus rather than China. In a column titled 'Smearing China a lame trick to aid reelection for White House', the Global Times described the escalating epidemic in the US is 'like that of a primitive society', blasting Washington's poor handling of the virus outbreak. 'The COVID-19 spread in the US is almost like that of a primitive society. It should not have been like this if the US had the slightest science and organization,' the Chinese state media outlet said. 'To put it bluntly, the U.S. is no match for China in terms of anti-epidemic organization and mobilization. 'The US political system has been hit by the pandemic on its weak side and we were willing to show understanding for that. After all, every system has its weaknesses,' the newspaper asserted.”

Go Ahead, Make My Day: Sue the Universities!! By James Reed

I just want to put the idea out there, but students across Australia are all going on-line because of social distancing, receiving tuition less than what they were offered when they enrolled. Hello, breach of contract, if I remember my TV legal shows. So, why not follow the American way and sue, because litigation is the one thing that makes America great, and that China is sorely lacking in, being a totalitarians society that makes all of our goods, like face masks, and likes buying up our farms, for no reason at all.
  https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/its-not-same-college-students-revolt-against-online-classes-sue-tuition-refunds

“College students are in revolt against their universities as the institutions have refused to budge on tuition reimbursements or reductions while offering sub-par remote learning classes in online-only format. "The coronavirus crisis is forcing a reckoning over the price and value of higher education," The Washington Post wrote earlier. Angry students and their parents are in some cases suing their schools. The suits focus on everything from seeking significant tuition reimbursements - hinging on the argument that normal higher class prices are tailored to the costs associated with physical classroom instruction - to full refunds for campus housing and meal plans (some schools have offered housing prorated refunds and campus fees, while others haven't returned anything). Forbes detailed some of the latest class action lawsuits as follows: "Students at the University of Miami have filed a class action lawsuit claiming they have paid for in-person courses at a higher rate and, with online instruction, they aren’t getting what they paid for this semester. Students at Drexel University in Pennsylvania have filed a similar suit asking for tuition refunds." But school administrations have remained aloof to student demands given schools are already losing tens of millions in campus and summer fees given shutdowns, also as the question of whether in-person instruction will even happen next Fall is a huge unknown, potentially delivering a financial fatal blow to a number of already struggling schools. Endowment values have plunged along with markets to boot. "Schools geared toward full-time students... offer, in normal times, academic programs with a personal touch, including seminars, laboratory classes, office hours and research opportunities with faculty," WaPo wrote.”

Here Come the Famines of Biblical Proportions: UN By Brian Simpson

  https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2020/apr/21/coronavirus-pandemic-will-cause-famine-of-biblical-proportions

“Noting that the global spread of COVID-19 this year has sparked “the worst humanitarian crisis since World War Two”, Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) David Beasley pointed to deepening crises, more frequent natural disasters and changing weather patterns, saying “we’re already facing a perfect storm”. As millions of civilians in conflict-scarred nations teeter on the brink of starvation, he said, “famine is a very real and dangerous possibility”. Mr. Beasley painted a grim picture of 135 million people facing crisis levels of hunger or worse, coupled with an additional 130 million on the edge of starvation prompted by Coronavirus, noting that WFP currently offers a lifeline to nearly 100 million people – up from about 80 million just a few years ago. “If we can’t reach these people with the life-saving assistance they need, our analysis shows that 300,000 people could starve to death every single day over a three-month period”, he upheld. “This does not include the increase of starvation due to COVID-19”.

Corona Crash: How the Looters are Set to Destroy Us By Mrs Vera West

Great article by The Thinking House wife, and  mind you all house wives, resisting feminism must be thinking, although we are underrated:
  https://www.thinkinghousewife.com/2020/04/why-the-lockdowns/

“The Corona lockdowns have nothing to do with the virus. We are witnessing the controlled demolition of our economic system. Its collapse will be blamed on the virus. This recent interview with German author Ernst Wolff is highly relevant. “It’s a deliberate induction of a crash,” he says. “And, in the end, [the economy] is being plundered …. We are witnessing a looting orgy by the major investors.” “The hysteria surrounding the Coronavirus serves the purpose of dispossession, They will need to have the people under control.” “We are witnessing an internationally orchestrated, fascistic financial coup.”

The Possible Futility of an Alleged Coronavirus Vaccine By Mrs Vera West

One line of thought emerging is that the lock-downs will continue until there is a vaccine, because if people are let out of their cages, they may get infected in round 2, 3, 4, … of this coronavirus pandemonium. But, there is a problem, that of the endless mutations that is the day job of viruses:
  https://www.foxnews.com/science/significant-coronavirus-mutation-discovered-could-make-vaccine-search-futile

“Researchers have discovered what they described as a "significant" mutation of the novel coronavirus, which they believe "raises the alarm" that the search for a vaccine could become "futile" down the line. The study, published on the biorxiv.org repository, notes researchers were able to analyse a sample of SARS-CoV-2 from India on January 27 and found a mutation that "leads to weaker receptor binding capability." The receptor, known as ACE2, is an enzyme in a person's lungs. "The discrepant phylogenies for the spike protein and its receptor binding domain proved a previously reported structural rearrangement prior to the emergence of SARS-CoV-2," researchers wrote in the study. "Despite that we found, the spike glycoprotein of SARS-CoV-2 is particularly more conserved, we identified a mutation that leads to weaker receptor binding capability, which concerns a SARS-CoV-2 sample collected on 27th 26 January 2020 from India. This represents the first report of a significant SARS-CoV-2 mutant, and raises the alarm that the ongoing vaccine development may become futile in future epidemic if more mutations were identified." The research has not yet been peer-reviewed. Despite the ominous discovery, the researchers were also able to discover that SARS-CoV-2 "has a much lower mutation rate and genetic diversity" than severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), which appeared in China in 2002. The researchers also discovered "the spike (S) protein encoding gene of SARS-COV-2 is found relatively more conserved than other protein-encoding genes, which is a good indication for the ongoing antiviral drug and vaccine development."

China Endangers the World: German Press Proclaim By Richard Miller

This is strange for the cucked Germans, a rare show of strength, stating that China has endangered the world:
  https://www.jpost.com/international/germanys-largest-paper-to-chinas-president-youre-endangering-the-world-625074
  https://www.bild.de/politik/international/bild-international/bild-chief-editor-responds-to-the-chinese-president-70098436.bild.html

“Dear President Xi Jinping

Your embassy in Berlin has addressed me in an open letter because we asked in our newspaper BILD whether China should pay for the massive economic damage the corona virus is inflicting worldwide.

Let me respond:

1. You rule by surveillance. You wouldn't be president without surveillance. You monitor everything, every citizen, but you refuse to monitor the diseased wet markets in your country.
You shut down every newspaper and website that is critical of your rule, but not the stalls where bat soup is sold. You are not only monitoring your people, you are endangering them – and with them, the rest of the world.
2. Surveillance is a denial of freedom. And a nation that is not free, is not creative. A nation that is not innovative, does not invent anything . This is why you have made your country the world champion in intellectual property theft.
China enriches itself with the inventions of others, instead of inventing on its own. The reason China does not innovate and invent is that you don't let the young people in your country think freely. China’s greatest export hit (that nobody wanted to have, but which has nevertheless gone around the world) is Corona.
3. You, your government and your scientists had to know long ago that Corona is highly infectious, but you left the world in the dark about it. Your top experts didn't respond when Western researchers asked to know what was going on in Wuhan.
You were too proud and too nationalistic to tell the truth, which you felt was a national disgrace.

4. The "Washington Post" reports that your laboratories in Wuhan have been researching corona viruses in bats, but without maintaining the highest safety standards. Why are your toxic laboratories not as secure as your prisons for political prisoners?

Would you like to explain this to the grieving widows, daughters, sons, husbands, parents of Corona victims all over the world?

5. In your country, your people are whispering about you. Your power is crumbling. You have created an inscrutable, non-transparent China. Before Corona, China was known as a surveillance state. Now, China is known as a surveillance state that infected the world with a deadly disease.
That is your political legacy.

Your embassy tells me that I am not living up to the "traditional friendship of our peoples.” I suppose you consider it a great "friendship" when you now generously send masks around the world. This isn’t friendship, I would call it imperialism hidden behind a smile – a Trojan Horse.
You plan to strengthen China through a plague that you exported. You will not succeed. Corona will be your political end, sooner or later.

Yours sincerely

Julian Reichelt”

Trump Rediscovers that Globalism Does Not Work By Charles Taylor

While Trump back in 2016, gave speeches against globalism, written by Steve Bannon, who was then quickly disposed of after the election, as Trump moved his son-in-law into the main ruling position, he seems to have learnt a few things about globalism and national strategic control, mainly of supply chains. It does not make much sense to let bitter rival, commo China, make your vitals:
  https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/04/19/donald-trump-coronavirus-exposed-dangers-of-supply-chains-dependent-on-china/

“President Donald Trump said Saturday the biggest lesson of the coronavirus crisis was that the United States should not rely on China for their supply chains. “We’ve learned a lot about supply chains,” Trump said. “We’ve learned that it’s nice to make things in the U.S., I’ve been saying that for a long time.” The president discussed the issue during the White House press briefing, recalling he ran for president on the dangers of America’s dependence on bad trade deals and foreign countries while gutting our country’s industries. “If one thing comes out of this more than anything else is that we should make product in the United States,” he said. Trump noted that he also promised as a candidate to be tough on China and successfully pressured them with tariffs to make an important trade deal. “With China, we made the deal, and it became friendly, but then this happened,” he recalled.”

The McDonald Effect By Mrs Vera West

Thanks to young Brian Simpson for sending me this link about the McDonald effect. The author of the piece, Arthur Eby takes on a tour of one of New York’ best restaurants, the Rainbow Room, serving exquisitely tasting food. He chooses the dish the Parmesan profiteroles with herbed goat cheese, a delicious cream puffed éclair lightly toasted with fine oil and garnished with sweet dill. Only problem, at least for the health conscious is that these compare poorly even to McDonald’s French fires, having more saturated fat, sugar and sodium. Yes, most people do not think of the expensive cuisine as junk food, which it is. Thus, “this burrito has 1950 calories, 128 grams of fat, 910 mg of cholesterol, 3640 mg of sodium, 114 g of carbs, and 16 g of sugar. Equivalent to eating six egg McMuffins from McDonald’s! Hard to believe that something this fancy could be that high-calorie.” Indeed, it is.

“The McDonald’s effect is a cognitive bias in which consumers are more likely to believe that items which are more rare, more expensive, and/or harder to attain are more valuable in ways which appeal to them, i.e. healthier, taste better, more productive, more beautiful, etc. McDonald’s, as one of the most common, well-known, and cheap retailers of food in the world, constantly meets with criticism and much backlash as to their products and procedures. Hence the name, the “McDonald’s effect”. In reality, the price, time of production, and quantity do not actually play a role on quality of food. For example, many consumers are more likely to believe that food from a cheap, common burger restaurant like McDonald’s is less healthy compared to an otherwise more expensive, rare restaurant. One common belief caused by the McDonald’s effect is that foods which are less commonly eaten, which are harder to find, or which are harder to prepare, are somehow more “healthy” than more common foods. The McDonald’s effect is related to the IKEA effect in the sense that some of the food produced today requires little to no preparation by the individual buyer. Bread can be bought from the store easily in today’s world, and a consumer can enjoy it quicker and more easily than if a consumer were to buy and put together all the ingredients oneself. A consumer may conclude that because he/she is working to produce the bread, the bread tastes better, or is healthier. All the ingredients are the same, but the consumer may believe that the additional work they do to produce it makes it better. The phenomenon which involves perceived greater reward for greater effort has been observed in mice, pigeons, and even humans in experimental procedures. In one experiment, mice were given food from two different dispensers. One dispenser required one tap of a lever to dispense a food pellet, the other dispenser required 20 taps to dispense a food pellet.”

My Home, Now My Prison: We are All Under House Arrest! By Charles Taylor

That is how many of us feel here in Florida, but I    understand from League emails from Australia, you Aussies may not have been as hard done by as we by our overlords here in the US, and the police are out in force to keep us locked down, and enjoying their power, as US police are known for.  So, what happens if there are multiple rounds of the coronavirus, with successive mutations? Lockdown forever?

“We are seeing a massive backlash against the coronavirus lockdowns all over the United States, and it is likely that the protests against these lockdowns will only intensify in the days ahead. But some elected officials are doubling down and are insisting that “shelter-in-place” orders will remain in effect in their jurisdictions for quite a few months to come.  I honestly do not know how that is possibly going to work, because after just a few weeks millions upon millions of Americans have become deeply frustrated with these lockdowns.  Trying to confine people to their homes for the foreseeable future is likely to spark tremendous explosions of anger, but that appears to be exactly what authorities intend to do in some of our largest urban areas. For example, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio just told Fox News that he expects his city will be shut down until July or August… New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio joined Bill Hemmer today on FOX News Channel. The mayor told Hemmer he does not expect New York City to open until July or August. Does he honestly believe that New York City residents will put up with being confined to their homes for another three or four months? Over on the west coast, California Governor Gavin Newsom recently told the press that there probably will not be mass gatherings in his state “until we get to herd immunity and we get to a vaccine”… “The prospect of mass gatherings is negligible at best until we get to herd immunity and we get to a vaccine,” Newsom told reporters at his press briefing. “Large-scale events that bring in hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of strangers … [are] not in the cards based upon our current guidelines and current expectations,” he said. It is exceedingly unlikely that we will get to the point of “herd immunity” in the United States this year, and most experts do not anticipate a vaccine until some time in 2021.

We are All Survivalists Now! By John Steele

First, it was stockpiling hand sanitizer then toilet paper, then food, and for some, increased gun sales, but now people are getting down to the real fundamentals, of stockpiling seeds, and making home gardens. I am very impressed with this level of survivalist wisdom, probably a product of people having a steady diet of disaster film, such as TV shows like The Walking Dead:
  https://www.zerohedge.com/health/its-not-just-toilet-paper-seed-shortages-spread-locked-down-americans-turn-growing-their-own

“Americans are panic hoarding plant seeds as the coronavirus outbreak confines millions to their homes, crashes the economy, and disrupts food supply chains. This has resulted in people questioning their food security. A Google search of "buy seeds" has rocketed to an all-time high across the US in March to early April, the same time as supermarket shelves went bare. Seed companies who spoke with CBS News said they have stopped taking new orders after unprecedented demand. George Ball, chairman of Pennsylvania-based Burpee Seeds, said the recent increase in new orders is "just unbelievable." The company will start accepting orders again on Wednesday after it stopped taking new ones for several days to catch up on the backlog. Americans in quarantine are becoming increasingly concerned about their food security. What has shocked many is that food on supermarket shelves that existed one day, could be completely wiped out in minutes via panic hoarding. Some people are now trying to restore the comfort of food security by planting "Pandemic Gardens." "If I had to put my thumb on it, I would say people are worried about their food security right now," said Emily Rose Haga, the executive director of the Seed Savers Exchange, an Iowa-based nonprofit devoted to heirloom seeds.  "A lot of folks even in our region are putting orders into their grocery stores and having to wait a week to get their groceries. Our society has never experienced a disruption like this in our lifetime."

Just Suppose Trump is Right about the Chinese Virus! By Charles Taylor (Florida)

Trump has spoken of the Chinese virus, as the virus came from China, and did not back down when the anti-racist Leftoids said that this was racist. No, it is merely pointing out the place of origin. And that is relevant to Trump, since there is a growing case that the Chinese communist party were knowingly responsible for the pandemic:
  https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/04/19/bannon_chinese_communist_party_will_be_nervous_trump_said_they_were_knowingly_responsible_for_pandemic.html

“Former Trump White House advisor Steve Bannon told FNC's Maria Bartiromo on "Sunday Morning Futures" that President Trump's suggestion Saturday that maybe the Chinese government "deliberately" did not inform the world health organization or other countries about the early coronavirus outbreak. Bannon said China knew as early as December 2019 that the virus was spreading from human to human but told the world health organization in Mid-January that it was not. "This is about the Chinese Communist Party, and they are knowingly responsible for what happened," he said. TRUMP: Now, the question was asked, would you be angry at China? Well, the answer might very well be a very resounding yes. But it depends. Was it a mistake that got out of control, or was it done deliberately, OK? There's a big difference between those two. In either event, they should have let us go in. You know, we asked to go in very early, and they didn't want us in. I think they were embarrassed. MARIA BARTIROMO: Steve, that was the first time the president actually publicly raised the question of, was it deliberate? I found that stunning. You haven't heard the president raise such an issue before. Your reaction? STEVE BANNON: One of the key phrases the president used -- and I think, if I was in Beijing, I'd be very nervous right now -- he said, knowingly responsible, knowingly responsible. And I think -- let's set aside for a second, this is a biological Chernobyl. But let's set aside a second the lab, and did it leak out of the lab with a technician on trying to find a vaccine? Let's leave aside the fact that, were they doing gain of function experiments there, against everybody's knowledge? Let's leave aside for a second whether they have an offensive biological weapons program. That's all going to be investigated. As Pompeo and Senator Cotton says, that's all now being investigated by intelligence services, by the world's health organizations, et cetera. Let's go back to knowingly responsible. And let's be precise. This is not the Chinese people and this is not China. The Chinese people, the decent, hardworking people of China, are the single biggest victims here.
