America’s Immigration Pause? By Charles Taylor (Florida)

Trump has implemented an immigration pause, with so many exceptions that it will probably be business as usual. Still, the thought counts, or does it?

“Republicans seem mostly supportive of President Donald Trump’s announcement that he would temporarily suspend legal immigration into the United States to protect Americans from the coronavirus and a flooded job market when more than 22 million workers are unemployed. Details about the expected executive order are not clear, but despite Democrats slamming Trump for dismissing the contributions of some foreign workers, Bloomberg News reported it obtained a draft of the order, which includes exceptions for people working directly in the supply chain and also those working in health care or as medical research professionals. In a statement, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany described the order as aimed at protecting both the “health and economic well-being of American citizens as we face unprecedented times,” the Daily Journal reported. “At a time when Americans are looking to get back to work, action is necessary,” McEnany said. Thomas Homan, Trump’s former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told Reuters: “It’s really not about immigration. It’s about the pandemic and keeping our country safer while protecting opportunities for unemployed Americans.”

To even talk about doing anything to immigration, except increase it, goes against the spirit of the religion of the age, which is the Great Replacement of Whites in an orgy of white genocide and ethno-masochism, so this is at least a symbolic victory. It remains to be seen how many extra jobs will go to deplorable American; maybe two or three:

“President Trump says his upcoming executive order to pause most legal immigration to the United States will ensure that the roughly 22 million unemployed Americans will be “first in line” for jobs when the nation reopens in the midst of the coronavirus crisis. During his daily press briefing on Tuesday, Trump outlined some specifics of his executive order pausing most legal immigration to the U.S. — a plan that will include a moratorium on issuing green cards to foreign nationals for at least 60 days. Trump said the decision is one based on morals and fairness for American workers: So the noble fight against the invisible enemy has inflicted a steep toll on the American workforce as we all know, millions of Americans have sacrificed their jobs in order to battle the virus and save the lives of our fellow citizens. We have a solemn duty to ensure these unemployed Americans regain their jobs and their livelihoods, therefore, in order to protect American workers, I will be issuing a temporary suspension of immigration into the United States.  By pausing immigration, we’ll help put unemployed Americans first in line for jobs as America reopens. So important. It would be wrong and unjust for Americans laid off by the virus to be replaced with new immigrant labor flown in from abroad. We must first take care of the American worker — the American worker. This pause will be in effect for 60 days after which, the need for an extension or modification will be evaluated by myself and a group of people based on economic conditions at the time. This order will only apply to individuals seeking a permanent residency, in other words, those receiving green cards. It will not apply to those entering on a temporary basis.  Trump said his pause on immigration will also prevent newly arrived immigrants from draining hospital and medical resources that are needed for America’s working and middle class during the time of crisis. “This pause on new immigration will also help conserve new vital resources for American citizens,” Trump said. “A short break from new immigration … will protect the solvency of our healthcare system and provide relief to jobless Americans.”

If the immigration pause has these benefits to American workers, then why did it not be put into place before the whole coronavirus stuff? Who needs immigration anyway, apart from those pushing the Great Replacement? Well, no sooner did I finish this then this came up on the news feed: Trump’s son-in-law, and the real ruler of the White House, is pushing back against the immigration ban, because, well that is just what he does:

“The White House is currently facing an internal battle over President Trump’s announcement Monday night that he will sign an executive order temporarily halting immigration amid the coronavirus outbreak. The details of the order had not been finalized as of Tuesday morning, causing frantic debate over which groups of immigrants will be exempt from the ban. Immigration restrictionists have been trying to sell the president on the idea of a ban for at least a week, pointing to various polling that shows it is popular among voters due to fears of the spread of COVID-19 and the high unemployment numbers in the US. Twenty-two million people thus far have filed for unemployment as the economy has practically shut down because of social distancing measures. However, some members of the administration were angry that the president announced the ban on Twitter. They immediately began scrambling to take control over the details. Sources familiar with the situation told The Spectator that the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is one of the loudest voices pushing back on a full ban and is seeking to carve out exemptions for refugees, temporary workers under the H1B visa program, and farmworkers under the H-2A visa program. These provisions, one source warned, would defeat the purpose of protecting Americans unemployed due to the COVID crisis. The New York Times, however, reported that the president intends to announce Tuesday evening that he will only temporarily halt the issuance of green cards, hardly the sweeping halt advocates were pushing for.”

I suppose Emperor Jared will tell Trump that a nation made of immigrants cannot stop immigration for even a second, because immigration is what their bosses want, and there can never be a valid reason to shut the gates. Really, America deserves what it is going to get. And, what a pathetic creature Trump is, to allow his family such influence in the running of America. Trump is a bloody disgrace, there is no polite way of putting it. Kushner should not have been allowed anywhere near the White House, let alone setting the policies of the old fool Trump.
