But, it is interesting to see how their evil minds work; let’s see what we can get on him, as if it would be in the tax returns! It was a fishing expedition. Probably, at worst, they want to show how he minimises tax, but this is something all of these elites do, so it is no big cheese. “On September 11th, Gallup headlined “Bias in Others’ News a Greater Concern Than Bias in Own News”, and reported (based upon polling a randomized sample of 20,046 American adults) that: “69% of Americans say they are more concerned about bias in the news other people consume than its presence in their own news (29%).” In other words: 69/29, or 2.38 times, as many Americans are closed-minded (prejudiced) regarding information-sources which don’t fit their ideology, than are not. Overwhelmingly in America, only Democratic Party information-sources are trusted by Democrats, and only Republican information-sources are trusted by Republicans. Each side distrusts the other’s information-sources. Gallup’s news-report aptly noted the important fact that “This plays into the political polarization in the U.S. national discourse.” The more prejudiced a population are, the more polarized it will be. Of course, one would expect this to be the case, but Gallup has now found striking new empirical evidence for it — that the public’s closed-mindedness is greatly increasing America’s political polarization. Each side is craving propaganda instead of truth, but each side’s voters want only the type of propaganda that is funded by the billionaires who also fund that side’s politicians and control that side’s ‘news’ media. “The new study—“Racial/Ethnic Variation in Nasal Gene Expression of Transmembrane Serine Protease 2 (TMPRSS2)”—was published in the prestigious journal on September 10th and was carried out by three researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York [Supinda Bunyavanich; Chantal Grant, MD; and Alfin Vicencio]. It sets out to make sense of why African-Americans suffer a death rate from Covid-19 that is around three times their proportion of the U.S. population. The researchers tested a sample of 305 people in their local hospital system, the sample being 8.2% Asian, 15.4% Black, 26.6% Latino, 9.5% mixed race/ethnicity, and 40.3% White. Their key finding: the expression of the Transmembrane serine protease 2 (shortened to TMPRSS2) was significantly higher among black individuals than it was in Asian, Latino, mixed race/ethnicity, or white individuals. Why is this important? Covid-19 enters the body via contact with its airways, such as the tissues in the nose. If the TMPRSS2 gene is present in its strong form, then the body will produce high levels of the enzyme. This enzyme, present in the body’s tissues, means that the virus is better able to enter the tissues and so spread throughout the body, potentially killing the host. If the host has a high expression of TMPRSS2 in its nasal tissues, then, write the authors, “this activates the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and cleaves the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 receptor to which the virus binds, enabling SARS-CoV-2 to enter the body” and also more easily spread. According to the research, blacks expressed TMPRSS2 at a higher rate than Asians. Asians expressed it more than Latinos, Latinos had a higher expression than Mixed race people and these, in turn, had a higher expression than whites.

     I was referred to this article by James Reed, and do not know much about the site, or care, as my main interest is civil liberties. But there is a nice summary of what has been done by a largely conservative Supreme Court in the US. Just ask yourself what a radical Left court would have done! In fact, there are no real conservatives on the court at all, since the legal institution in the US, and all of the West, has long been taken over. In that time, I have watched John Roberts replace William Rehnquist (2005), Samuel Alito replace Sandra Day O’Connor (2006), Neil Gorsuch replace Anthony Scalia (2017) and Brett Kavanaugh replace Anthony Kennedy (2018). Clarence Thomas is the only conservative member of the Supreme Court who is still there. Otherwise, there has been a complete turnover in my adult lifetime. For most of my adult lifetime, the conservative narrative was that Anthony Kennedy was the libertarian swing vote on the Supreme Court. Anthony Kennedy was the reason that social conservatives had amassed a solid losing streak on the court in big decisions like Lawrence v. Texas (2003) which legalized sodomy and most famously with Obergefell v. Hodges (2015) which legalized gay marriage. There were other important decisions like Grutter v. Bollinger (2003) and Fisher v. Texas (2016) which upheld affirmative action. In the Fisher case, Anthony Kennedy upheld affirmative action. In Arizona v. United States (2010), Kennedy was joined by John Roberts in striking down Arizona’s SB 1070 immigration law. Donald Trump was elected in 2016, Anthony Kennedy retired and Gorsuch and Kavanaugh were confirmed and were supposed to consolidate a solid conservative majority on the Supreme Court.

     The script of this play is pretty easy to see, as if Trump romps back in, there will be corrupt mail votes suddenly overturning election results.  Civil war is inevitable, and as natural as any immune system defence, or to use another metaphor Aussies know, like a bushfire racing through the undergrowth and rubbish left from past seasons.

     Here is one from the green leafy suburbs that the writers here are always raging about. White women who feel safe, go for Biden; those unsafe go for Trump. That does not increase my respect for the IQ of such women. Oh, a criticism of women, can we say that still?

“White suburban women who feel safe in their communities overwhelmingly support Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, but those who feel unsafe support President Donald Trump, according to an Axios/SurveyMonkey poll released on Thursday. The “survey of 14,043 U.S. adults who are white and live in suburbs,” was part of a “SurveyMonkey poll of 35,732 U.S. adults” that was conducted between August 31 and September 6 on the SurveyMonkey platform and has a margin of error of one percent. The popular SurveyMonkey platform — on which more than two million Americans participate in surveys of all sorts each day — uses a different polling methodology than most other polling firms, many of which begin with a file of confirmed registered voters whom they contact by landline phone, cell phone, or online, and ask questions about their likelihood of voting. Many polls use samples of registered voters only, while the subset of likely voters is considered by many polling professionals to be a more accurate predictor of actual voting behavior. In contrast, SurveyMonkey polls are open to all adults who reside in America. That sample includes registered voters, but also residents of the country — not necessarily American citizens — who are not registered to vote. With those caveats in mind, the SurveyMonkey poll results paint a clear and compelling picture. Fifty-eight percent of poll respondents who are white and live in suburbs say they feel “very safe” in their community, while 38 percent say they feel “somewhat safe” and four percent said they feel “unsafe.”
