1 March 2019,          The media loves disaster stories – floods, cyclones, heat waves, droughts and fires - each one “the worst Evaaaah” (evaah since the last one). Each report of catastrophe is usually followed by a religious chant about “man-made global warming”. Pretending we can change global climate by waging a war on carbon dioxide is foolish and dangerous nonsense. Sensible people accept that natural disasters have happened, and will happen again. We cannot stop that, but like the Boy Scouts, we can “Be Prepared” by ensuring our essential infrastructure is more weather-proof. When cyclones, floods, droughts and bushfires strike we need disaster-proof helipads, rail links, roads, bridges, water and electricity supply. Not one solar farm or wind turbine will survive a severe cyclone, and in wild, cloudy weather they will produce zero power. And giant batteries/pumped storage are just a short-term energy crutch, not a source of reliable energy. We cannot change the climate no matter what we spend. But we must adapt and prepare for the inevitable cyclones, floods, droughts and bushfires. There will always be one that challenges past records. Three things are needed:

     I have not fully digested everything about the current fears over China’s mega-high-tech firm, Huawei, but the internet has numerous mainstream articles and items expressing alarm about what is going on. Thus, The Epoch Times of December 2018, has an entire special edition devoted to the “company’s opaque operations.” The Chinese Communist Party has a big role in the company’s leadership, and why should we be surprised at that? Well, this raises the issue about whether the company shares data with the Chinese authorities. But, again I think, no shock here, why would they not, for this is not a liberal capitalist country, but a communist dictatorship, and that is what they do? The West seems to be upset that China is not playing by the liberal/globalist rules, but why should China?

     Should we astonished to learn that Huawei plays a role in the Chinese Communist Party’s surveillance of the entire society? Why would it not? Thus, nothing surprising for anyone who knows even a little about how China works.      According to mainstream science, about 97 percent of biologists, life evolved from the primal slime, moving from single cell organisms to humans. It did this without the intervention of intelligence, no space people, or gods/God. The mechanism was, and is, random mutations, that are then subjected to natural selection. But selection by definition means that there has to be something to first select, so everything goes back to random mutations. Geneticists admit that most random mutations are deleterious, and thus bad, but there are low probability mutations that are beneficial, and these are selected. What is supposed here is that there is some sort of pre-established harmony between environmental needs and these random mutations. Thus, moths in an industrial area, where there is pollution, would benefit from darker colours. Sure, natural selection would favour the darker moths of species X, but what if there were NO darker moths to start out with? How would a random mutation happily occur to produce just the needed colour change? Surely the chances of this are infinitesimal, since there is no mechanism linking the need of the species, with its genetic; it is all random after all.
