The Avengers: Endgame; All the Spoilers for the Ultimate Social Justice Movie By Uncle Len, Resident Lunatic at the Movies

I am aware that there is a no spoilers code about reviewing this movie, and that the directors, the Russo brothers begged fans not to reveal the plot. That is why I am going to spill my guts here. If you have come to this website via the magic of Google stay tuned because we have everything here. Take me for example, a genuinely mentally disturbed person, who lives in a small tool shed, and writes movie reviews. Others talk about more serious financial stuff, which is beyond me, but check it out. What you may ask gives with these movie reviews, how is that possible? Well, my social worker comes and takes me in handcuffs, sometimes to movies to relax me, as part of my therapy …  but wait you want the spoilers, so here goes, dear new friends …

Ok, well, the first part of the movie has Iron Man and cyborg Nebula heading back to earth, only problem is Iron Man will die, not from rust but lack of oxygen. Nebula is ok being a robot. Then the uber-feminist super-woman Captain Marvel comes by, rescues everybody, goes to Earth. All very DC.

Reflections on the Notre Dame Fire By Richard Miller

It is said that the Notre Dame fire was not arson, and that those who think so are racist! Well, that ends the debate and speculation, like slamming into a brick wall. Still, the mind wanders:

When Will the $243 Trillion Global Debt Bomb Explode? By James Reed

It seems it is only a matter of time now before the entire house of cards of the global economy comes crashing down.
  https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-04-22/cataclysmic-243-trillion-global-debt-bomb-will-explode-impoverishing-everyone

“Global debt now stands at a terrifying $243 trillion according to a report by the Institute of International Finance this week. That’s quarter of a quadrillion. We’re in the realms of the absurd and the unsustainable. That’s money that will never be repaid. The debt-based system is irrevocably broken and is still propped up by the lies told by central bankers and governments in order to remain in positions of power over others. The record debt figure stands at three-times the world’s total gross domestic product (GDP). In other words, it’s three times larger than the value of all products and services on the planet.  And the United States is contributing massively to this problem, propping up a debt bubble that will crush everyone when it finally bursts. It’s pretty safe to say that if you aren’t concerned, you simply aren’t paying attention and will be hurt when it all collapses. An irresponsible monetary system addicted to printing money and issuing credit is destroying the standard of living almost everywhere on the planet. It’s time to admit that we, as human beings, need a new alternative to the control, wealth redistribution, theft, and slavery that’s overtaken humanity. And one website dares to say that while it’s far from perfect, bitcoin offers a viable solution with its fixed supply. According to CCN, Bitcoin, the decentralized cryptocurrency, is a way out of the poorly designed monetary system forced down all of our throats by power-hungry sociopaths. When economic growth is insufficient, governments and companies borrow more money.  But this is nothing more than a cycle of addiction, writes  John Mauldin inForbes:

So Much for Electric Cars! By James Reed

I hate bloody electric cars; isn’t the case that some of them just burst into flames? Anyway, I will not go there because I have dug up something more damaging, namely a study showing that electric cars are more polluting in terms of the dreaded carbon dioxide than even diesel ones!
  http://www.brusselstimes.com/business/technology/15050/electric-vehicles-emit-more-co2-than-diesel-ones,-german-study-shows?

“Electric vehicles in Germany account for more CO2 emissions than diesel ones, according to a study by German scientists. When CO2 emissions linked to the production of batteries and the German energy mix - in which coal still plays an important role - are taken into consideration, electric vehicles emit 11% to 28% more than their diesel counterparts, according to the study, presented on Wednesday at the Ifo Institute in Munich. Mining and processing the lithium, cobalt and manganese used for batteries consume a great deal of energy. A Tesla Model 3 battery, for example, represents between 11 and 15 tonnes of CO2. Given a lifetime of 10 years and an annual travel distance of 15,000 kilometres, this translates into 73 to 98 grams of CO2 per kilometre, scientists Christoph Buchal, Hans-Dieter Karl and Hans-Werner Sinn noted in their study. The CO2 given off to produce the electricity that powers such vehicles also needs to be factored in, they say. When all these factors are considered, each Tesla emits 156 to 180 grams of CO2 per kilometre, which is more than a comparable diesel vehicle produced by the German company Mercedes, for example. The German researchers, therefore, take issue with the fact that European officials view electric vehicles as zero-emission ones. They note further that the EU target of 59 grams of CO2 per km by 2030 corresponds to a “technically unrealistic” consumption of 2.2 litres of diesel or 2.6 litres of gas per 100 kms.”

Canada will be Part of China Even before Australia! By James Reed

I hope you are impressed, for we are dragging out gems of information that the mainstream media here is not reporting on. Take for example Clive Hamilton’s analysis of China’s takeover of Canada. This surprised even me:
  https://nationalpost.com/news/world/academic-who-blew-the-whistle-on-chinas-influence-on-australia-says-canada-is-in-even-worse-trouble

“Some experts suggest the problem of Chinese soft-power interference is much more pronounced in Australia and New Zealand than here. Do you agree? I think it’s more of a problem in Canada. Yes, Australia’s economic dependence is higher — in terms of trade — but when I look, as I have been doing, at the subtle but intense influence of China on Canadian institutions — parliaments, provincial governments, local governments, universities, the intellectual community, the policy community — it makes me deadly worried. Can you give some examples of what disturbs you so much here? When I was last in Canada — in Ottawa, a few months ago — I was pretty dismayed at the extent of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence in the federal Parliament. I should probably not say any more to stay on the right side of the libel laws.

The Incoherence of the Singing Class By Chris Knight

The Mainstream Media Show What They are Made Of By Peter Ewer

WikiLeaks revealed the high level of corruption … everywhere …  and for doing what journalists should have been doing instead of writing pieces to rub the bloated bellies of their masters, Assange now faces being drawn and quartered, literally because the US engages in torture. Already the character assassination is in full scale operation, where any bit of dirt is thrown at poor Assange, to get the public ready for the show trial.

  https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-04-15/ron-paul-long-assange-prison-we-are-all-prison

“Last week’s arrest of Wikileaks publisher Julian Assange by the British government on a US extradition order is an attack on all of us. It is an attack on the US Constitution. It is an attack on the free press. It is an attack on free speech. It is an attack on our right to know what our government is doing with our money in our name. Julian Assange is every bit as much a political prisoner as was Cardinal Mindszenty in Hungary or Nelson Mandela in South Africa. They, and so many more, were imprisoned because they told the truth about their governments. Repressive governments do not want their citizens to know that they are up to so they insist on controlling the media. We are taught, at the same time, that we have a free press whose job it is to uncover the corruption in our system so that we can demand our political leaders make some changes or face unemployment. That, we are told, is what makes us different from the totalitarian.

A Symbol of the West, Burns Down By Richard Miller

The fire at Notre Dame in Paris, is, I feel, a symbol of the future of the West. Slowly, but at an accelerating pace, all the achievements of Western man are being dismantled and disassembled. Everything is under attack, and there is no defence. Yet. The cathedral of the West is being burn down, with Nordic (Northern European) man, to be burnt at the stake. And, the sad thing is that many of out own kind are ethno-masochistic enough to like it, perhaps until the flames lick their feet, or they lose their stuff. Then, sheer fear and panic.

The Dangers of Thinking Machines By Brian Simpson

I have been covering the issue of the rise of the machines and the dangers of high tech, which the average punter seems oblivious to. One aspect of this problem relates to the mind of robots, which have thought processes quite unlike humans, and that is where the dumb human race could come unstuck:
  https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-04-06/robots-have-no-sense-humor-and-might-kill-you-over-joke
  https://www.theorganicprepper.com/ai-hate/
  https://www.apnews.com/bae71c3bef8145ecaaa84bca24d77430

“A robot walks into a bar. It goes CLANG. Alexa and Siri can tell jokes mined from a humor database, but they don’t get them. Linguists and computer scientists say this is something to consider on April Fools’ Day: Humor is what makes humans special. When people try to teach machines what’s funny, the results are at times laughable but not in the way intended. “Artificial intelligence will never get jokes like humans do,” said Kiki Hempelmann, a computational linguist who studies humor at Texas A&M University-Commerce. “In themselves, they have no need for humor. They miss completely context.” And when it comes to humor, the people who study it — sometimes until all laughs are beaten out of it — say context is key. Even expert linguists have trouble explaining humor, said Tristan Miller, a computer scientist and linguist at Darmstadt University of Technology in Germany. “Creative language — and humor in particular — is one of the hardest areas for computational intelligence to grasp,” said Miller, who has analyzed more than 10,000 puns and called it torture. “It’s because it relies so much on real-world knowledge — background knowledge and commonsense knowledge. A computer doesn’t have these real-world experiences to draw on. It only knows what you tell it and what it draws from.” Allison Bishop , a Columbia University computer scientist who also performs stand-up comedy, said computer learning looks for patterns, but comedy thrives on things hovering close to a pattern and veering off just a bit to be funny and edgy. Humor, she said, “has to skate the edge of being cohesive enough and surprising enough.”

The Russian Collusion Hoax and Journo Awards By Chris Knight

Here is one for the records, when some alien species having what humans lack, intelligence, sort through the rubble of our decayed world. The Russia stole the US election mania, which dominated the manic progressives since Hillary Clinton’s defeat, has been knocked firmly over. Yet, what about all of the articles excreted by mainstream journalist championing this idea, made with no evidence at all, or based upon secret sources? Well, as the articles below indicate, there is no recognition of error, let alone guilt. There is no point going through each article, as the titles, and hubris, are clear. This is further evidence that a collapse of the internal coherence of American society has occurred. It is difficult to see how this divide could be bridged, since the chasm now is so great. Thus, people need to recognise this, and cease the delusional belief that the system can be saved, or is even worth saving. That position is much worse than embracing the decline, and planning to rebuild anew, on fresh foundations.

The same issue surfaced with the Jussie Smollett case of fake hate crimes, where Smollett gave a clearly absurd story which the mainstream media ran with just to attack white Americans. Then the “injustice” system let Smollett off, because, well, he was not white, for whites usually go down for faking crimes:

Can One Really Photograph a Black Hole? Some Scepticism By Brian Simpson and Mrs Vera West

The mainstream media have been jumping up and down about a 29-year old female physicist who has allegedly photographed a black hole, or that is the impression generated by some reports. Thus, she is promoted as the face of feminist STEM. Better reports say that she was part of the team of around 200 researchers, although some reports imply that she led the team. However, we could find no evidence of this from an examination of the main academic paper:

Civil War 2.0 By Charles Taylor

This mainstream article is behind a pay wall, and the only site I could find that had it in all of its glory was an anarchist Leftist one with an ironic twist, so forgive me, but Keith Preston is critical of multiculturalism, so he will only go to purgatory:
  https://attackthesystem.com/2019/04/12/in-america-talk-turns-to-something-not-spoken-of-for-150-years-civil-war/

“At a moment when the country has never seemed angrier, two political commentators from opposite sides of the divide concurred last week on one point, nearly unthinkable until recently: The country is on the verge of "civil war." First came former U.S. attorney Joseph diGenova, a Fox News regular and ally of President Trump. "We are in a civil war," he said. "The suggestion that there's ever going to be civil discourse in this country for the foreseeable future is over. . . . It's going to be total war." The next day, Nicolle Wallace, a former Republican operative turned MSNBC commentator and Trump critic, played a clip of diGenova's commentary on her show and agreed with him - although she placed the blame squarely on the president. Trump, she said, "greenlit a war in this country around race. And if you think about the most dangerous thing he's done, that might be it." With the report by special counsel Robert Mueller reportedly nearly complete, impeachment talk in the air and the 2020 presidential election ramping up, fears that once existed only in fiction or the fevered dreams of conspiracy theorists have become a regular part of the political debate. These days, there's talk of violence, mayhem and, increasingly, civil war.

Letter to The Editor - My statement unequivocally condemned this heinous act of murderous violence

To The Age        The argument of Gillian Triggs and Julian Burnside in favour of stronger legislation to prevent events such as the Christchurch massacre ("We need stronger laws to deal with hate speech", 15/4) is fraught with danger for the principle of free speech, which is so vital to the wellbeing of the open society, such as we currently enjoy in Australia, but which millions of human beings in closed societies around the world do not. Their plea in fact looks like a carefully manicured proposal for the political censorship of views they happen to dislike and disagree with. This is suggested by their thoroughly misleading description of Senator Fraser Anning's commentary on the massacre. In his open letter to the Prime Minister dated 27th March the senator wrote: "My statement unequivocally condemned this heinous act of murderous violence. After putting the immediate blame where it belongs, I looked for contributing causes." There is thus no justification for the description of his comments as "a vile response" that "constitute an abuse of free speech."

Letter to The Editor - There is no likelihood that any "constitutional recognition" proposal will succeed in a referendum

To The Age        Denny Meadows says that the Uluru Statement from the Heart "was outrageously dismissed out of hand" (20/4) by the government, but the truth is that the rejection was wise, because the attached proposals are inequitable (contrary to the interests of most Australians) and separatist (leading towards a loss of our national unity and security). There is no likelihood that any "constitutional recognition" proposal will succeed in a referendum. Holding one would be a waste of public money.

Facebook Shows its True Colours, Again! By Brian Simpson

It is truly amazing how things work. On day one, Julien Assange is kicked out of the Ecuador embassy, then the next day the IMF approves a giant 4.2 billion dollar loan for Ecuador. Letter to The Editor - Most Australians will not be fooled out of seeing the obvious

To The Australian        If the ALP does win the coming elections, it is to be hoped that common sense will trump fanaticism in the management of Aboriginal affairs ("Dodson under pressure to deliver", 20-21/4). Expectations that "Labor would deliver a first-term referendum on a 'voice to parliament'" will need to be disappointed. All models of "constitutional recognition" involve an innate inequity and capacity to divide, not unify, the nation. Most Australians will not be fooled out of seeing the obvious, so any referendum proposal looks doomed to failure and that is as it should be. Moreover, a failed referendum would see strengthened international pressure put on our government. That also is an ill that should be avoided by common sense and fair play.

Our open society is under grave threat, Calls for stronger laws to curb hate speech are dangerous By Nigel Jackson

In my local newspaper this week (the Ferntree Gully Belgrave Mail) the front page story (“Cross of Easter”) deals with an art installation at the front of nearby Tecoma Uniting Church which is said to draw “parallels between Christ’s crucifixion and the treatment of asylum seekers in Australia”.

Described as “confronting”, the work shows three figures representing asylum seekers hanging on crosses. The artist, the Reverend John Tansey, is reported as stating that his art work reflects “the crucifixion of the human rights of asylum seekers”. There is no reason to doubt his sincerity or compassion for detainees on Manus Island, Nauru and Christmas Island – or the church’s good intentions or those of its minister, the Reverend Matt Cutler.
