Here Come the Famines of Biblical Proportions: UN By Brian Simpson

“Noting that the global spread of COVID-19 this year has sparked “the worst humanitarian crisis since World War Two”, Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) David Beasley pointed to deepening crises, more frequent natural disasters and changing weather patterns, saying “we’re already facing a perfect storm”. As millions of civilians in conflict-scarred nations teeter on the brink of starvation, he said, “famine is a very real and dangerous possibility”. Mr. Beasley painted a grim picture of 135 million people facing crisis levels of hunger or worse, coupled with an additional 130 million on the edge of starvation prompted by Coronavirus, noting that WFP currently offers a lifeline to nearly 100 million people – up from about 80 million just a few years ago. “If we can’t reach these people with the life-saving assistance they need, our analysis shows that 300,000 people could starve to death every single day over a three-month period”, he upheld. “This does not include the increase of starvation due to COVID-19”.

Go Ahead, Make My Day: Sue the Universities!! By James Reed

I just want to put the idea out there, but students across Australia are all going on-line because of social distancing, receiving tuition less than what they were offered when they enrolled. Hello, breach of contract, if I remember my TV legal shows. So, why not follow the American way and sue, because litigation is the one thing that makes America great, and that China is sorely lacking in, being a totalitarians society that makes all of our goods, like face masks, and likes buying up our farms, for no reason at all.
  https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/its-not-same-college-students-revolt-against-online-classes-sue-tuition-refunds

“College students are in revolt against their universities as the institutions have refused to budge on tuition reimbursements or reductions while offering sub-par remote learning classes in online-only format. "The coronavirus crisis is forcing a reckoning over the price and value of higher education," The Washington Post wrote earlier. Angry students and their parents are in some cases suing their schools. The suits focus on everything from seeking significant tuition reimbursements - hinging on the argument that normal higher class prices are tailored to the costs associated with physical classroom instruction - to full refunds for campus housing and meal plans (some schools have offered housing prorated refunds and campus fees, while others haven't returned anything). Forbes detailed some of the latest class action lawsuits as follows: "Students at the University of Miami have filed a class action lawsuit claiming they have paid for in-person courses at a higher rate and, with online instruction, they aren’t getting what they paid for this semester. Students at Drexel University in Pennsylvania have filed a similar suit asking for tuition refunds." But school administrations have remained aloof to student demands given schools are already losing tens of millions in campus and summer fees given shutdowns, also as the question of whether in-person instruction will even happen next Fall is a huge unknown, potentially delivering a financial fatal blow to a number of already struggling schools. Endowment values have plunged along with markets to boot. "Schools geared toward full-time students... offer, in normal times, academic programs with a personal touch, including seminars, laboratory classes, office hours and research opportunities with faculty," WaPo wrote.”

President Michelle Obama By Charles Taylor

This may be what is going on with the push to have senile old Joe Biden as president: he will not be, serving only as a place holder for the likes of Michelle Obama, or some clone:
  https://www.zerohedge.com/political/joe-biden-would-pick-michelle-obama-running-mate-heartbeat

“Joe Biden says he'd pick Michelle Obama to be his running mate with no hesitation, though he says he doubts she'd be interested in the position, according to The Hill. "I'd take her in a heartbeat," said the former Vice President during a Monday interview with Pittsburgh's KDKA on Monday. "She's brilliant. She knows the way around. She is a really fine woman. The Obamas are great friends." No word on whether he thinks Michelle would be 'the first mainstream African-Amerian who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking woman' - praise he showered on Barack Obama in 2007. Talk of the former First Lady joining Biden on the ticket was given new life over the weekend after a Saturday Op-Ed in the New York Post posited that the Obamas could have eight more years in the White House if Michelle became Biden's VP, and on January 21, 2021, "On live television, Joe and Dr. Jill Biden tearfully announce that the 78-year-old president is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,” and that under the 25th Amendment, he’s resigning. Michelle Obama is now president of the United States and will not only fill out Biden’s term but will retain her eligibility to run again in her own right in 2024 when she will have turned 60." So while it may not be Michelle Obama, Biden says he's committed to picking a woman as his running mate - though he didn't comment on whether she will be a minority. "I'll commit to that [it will] be a woman because it is very important that my administration look like the public, look like the nation. And there will be, committed that there will be a woman of color on the Supreme Court, that doesn't mean there won't be a vice president, as well," he said. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said last week in an interview with MSNBC's Rachel Maddow she would say yes if Biden asked her to be vice president, and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) said last week she would be "honored" if she were being considered as Biden's running mate. Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has also said she would like to serve as vice president. Abrams told Elle magazine last week she would make an "excellent" running mate for Biden. Biden also confirmed earlier this month that he is considering Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) for the spot. -The Hill”

America’s Immigration Pause? By Charles Taylor (Florida)

Trump has implemented an immigration pause, with so many exceptions that it will probably be business as usual. Still, the thought counts, or does it?
  https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/04/21/republicans-show-support-for-trumps-immigration-order-citing-millions-of-jobless-americans/

“Republicans seem mostly supportive of President Donald Trump’s announcement that he would temporarily suspend legal immigration into the United States to protect Americans from the coronavirus and a flooded job market when more than 22 million workers are unemployed. Details about the expected executive order are not clear, but despite Democrats slamming Trump for dismissing the contributions of some foreign workers, Bloomberg News reported it obtained a draft of the order, which includes exceptions for people working directly in the supply chain and also those working in health care or as medical research professionals. In a statement, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany described the order as aimed at protecting both the “health and economic well-being of American citizens as we face unprecedented times,” the Daily Journal reported. “At a time when Americans are looking to get back to work, action is necessary,” McEnany said. Thomas Homan, Trump’s former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told Reuters: “It’s really not about immigration. It’s about the pandemic and keeping our country safer while protecting opportunities for unemployed Americans.”

Rich Rats Have Deserted this Sinking Ship By John Steele

I have been reporting on the elites buying up bolt holes in New Zealand for a SHTF moment. That time has come; in fact, they were off the starting gate even before IT started flying, which shows how money can buy survival, and survival in style, not the sort that yours truly goes by in his tent out in the scrub. Some news reports had it that the socialist femo government of NZ had clamped down on this buy up, but, like the rest of the West, everything is one big fire sale now:
  https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/rich-americans-escaped-luxury-doomsday-resort-shelters-new-zealand-panic-grew

“New Zealand has become the 'doomsday resort' and #1 pandemic escape destination for America's rich. Those in Silicon Valley or Manhattan lucky enough to have caught the last international flights into Auckland before borders were shut to foreign travelers late last month — to say nothing of the uptick in private jets landing in the country even days after the ban took effect — in many cases for the first time moved into their multi-million dollar specially designed luxury doomsday bunkers. Bloomberg profiles how rich Americans escaped in droves just as US coronavirus cases began to explode, arriving in isolated and beautiful New Zealand over 1,000 miles off Australia's southern coast — and among the least impacted countries on the earth, currently at a little over 1,400 COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths, out of a population of almost 5 million. As coronavirus infections tore across the U.S. in early March, a Silicon Valley executive called the survival shelter manufacturer Rising S Co. He wanted to know how to open the secret door to his multimillion-dollar bunker 11 feet underground in New Zealand," the Bloomberg story begins dramatically enough. “He went out to New Zealand to escape everything that’s happening,” Gary Lynch, general manager of Rising S Co., described of one elite bunker owner. “And as far as I know, he’s still there.” The Texas-based company specializing in high-tech luxury survival bunkers and homes has multiple such clients moving into what are often their third or fourth homes designed specifically for just such an apocalyptic pandemic or other scenario. “For years, New Zealand has featured prominently in the doomsday survival plans of wealthy Americans worried that, say, a killer germ might paralyze the world,” writes Bloomberg. The report describes further: Rising S Co. has planted about 10 private bunkers in New Zealand over the past several years. The average cost is $3 million for a shelter weighing about 150 tons, but it can easily go as high as $8 million with additional features like luxury bathrooms, game rooms, shooting ranges, gyms, theaters and surgical beds. The ultra-wealthy have long bet that New Zealand would be the safest place in the world to hunker down during a global crisis, and so far that bet is proving right.”

Sweden May be a Paradise for Rapists, but will have Herd Immunity Soon By Richards Miller

With Sweden being basically a social welfare state for gang rapists, perhaps second only to the UK, which is slightly more into farming off their children to be raped, it did not go for the lockdown. Could this because they feared it might upset the rapists, not being good for business, let alone gang wars with grenades, but save that for another time?

“Amnesty International:  Sweden has the highest incidence of reported rapes in Europe but the lowest conviction rate, and worsening levels of violence against women, despite its good reputation for gender equality. A study commissioned by the European Union found that Sweden has the highest incidence of reported rapes in Europe. And an Amnesty International report on rape in the Nordic Countries was highly critical of Sweden for an abysmally low conviction rate for rape cases. Which adds considerable weight to criticism of Sweden for pursuing Julian Assange for purely political reasons. In an open letter to the Swedish government on his blog, Michael Moore quotes these findings from Katrin Axelsson of Women Against Rape:

Panicdemic USA: Thanks China! By Chris Knight

Well, China has been up to mischief, having secret agents stirring up the sheeple. Shame!
  https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2020/04/23/report-chinese-agents-helped-sow-coronavirus-pandemic-panic-in-u-s/

“The New York Times reported that six unnamed “American officials” claim online Chinese agents amplified the panic surrounding the novel coronavirus pandemic. “The officials interviewed for this article work in six different agencies,” the paper said. “They included both career civil servants and political appointees, and some have spent many years analyzing China.” Their conclusion? China had a deliberate hand in spreading coronavirus panic in the U.S. In March, text messages sent to Americans claimed President Donald Trump was preparing a nationwide lockdown order, leading to the National Security Council issuing a tweet to dispel those rumors: “Text message rumors of a national #quarantine are FAKE.” The agents reportedly behind disinformation efforts allegedly “adopted some of the techniques mastered by Russia-backed trolls,” also using social media accounts to share inaccurate information produced by other subversive elements. One of the officials told the Times that “American intelligence officers are also examining whether spies in China’s diplomatic missions in the United States helped spread the fake lockdown messages.” Others claimed “top [Chinese] officials issued directives to agencies to engage in a global disinformation campaign around the virus” and expanded their work toward the UK — spreading division during the crisis and praising the PRC’s “donation diplomacy.”

Coronavirus and the Homeless By Uncle Len Lord of the Zombies

I was pleased to learn that so many of my homeless brothers and sisters in the US have met with Mistress Corona and survived her so-called savage embrace. In fact, for most of these hard survivalist types, coronavirus is the least of their problems; just surviving the day, and the dark, dangerous nights on the streets, is hard enough:
  https://www.breitbart.com/health/2020/04/23/cdc-report-66-of-homeless-in-san-francisco-shelter-have-coronavirus/

“A report released Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed that 66% of homeless people in a San Francisco shelter tested positive for coronavirus, renewing concerns about indoor housing during the pandemic. The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) investigated 19 homeless shelters nationwide, including 15 in Seattle, one in Boston, two in Atlanta, and one each in Boston and San Francisco. Overall, the average prevalence of coronavirus among residents was 25%, and the average prevalence among staff was 11% (and 16% in San Francisco). San Francisco’s result was particularly striking — not only because it was so large, but because the overall infection rate in the area was low. The report explained (footnotes omitted): Homelessness poses multiple challenges that can exacerbate and amplify the spread of COVID-19. Homeless shelters are often crowded, making social distancing difficult. Many persons experiencing homelessness are older or have underlying medical conditions, placing them at higher risk for severe COVID-19–associated illness. To protect homeless shelter residents and staff members, CDC recommends that homeless service providers implement recommended infection control practices, apply social distancing measures including ensuring residents’ heads are at least 6 feet (2 meters) apart while sleeping, and promote use of cloth face coverings among all residents. San Francisco is attempting to move homeless people into individual hotel and motel rooms to minimize the spread. It is also allowing homeless people who currently live in tents on the street to remain there, because of the higher risks of spreading the coronavirus indoors in congregate settings. A recent CDC paper suggested outdoors spread was far less likely. Los Angeles has faced criticism for its policy of moving homeless people into temporary shelters set up in recreation centers in residential neighborhoods, contrary to CDC guidelines: “Unless individual housing units are available, do not clear encampments during community spread of COVID-19. Clearing encampments can cause people to disperse throughout the community and break connections with service providers. This increases the potential for infectious disease spread.”

Would China Lie to Us? By Paul Walker

There is a song by the pop group the Eurythmics, which always reminded me of a form of contraception, consisting of the weird Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, who formed in Wagga Wagga in 1980. They have a song Would I Lie to You? which always invited one to sing back; of course, you bloody well would! That applies to China now:
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uhpu2N4rQZM
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2020-04-26-did-china-cover-up-the-deaths-of-millions-from-coronavirus.html

“A social media sensation is drawing attention to herself once again with new claims that the Chinese government is lying about the number of people in China who have died from the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). According to Ruomei Zhou, who first became popular on Twitter after calling on all of China to apologize to the United States for polluting it with the virus, millions, not thousands, of people have died in China due to complications associated with the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). While the communist Chinese regime claims that just under 5,000 people have died there from the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19), Zhou says that as many as five million people have actually died, and that a major coverup is taking place. Chinese authorities admit that early on the count of people who died at home and in hospitals was probably too low because of tracking failures. But the official tally of deaths is nowhere close to what Zhou is claiming. Sky News, however, seems to agree with her. The news outlet says that the British government was informed that China was spreading disinformation about the actual number of deaths, and that the country “lied about the extent of their own outbreak by a factor of 40.” Intelligence officials here in the U.S. also reportedly told the White House that the Chinese government has been playing games with its Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) numbers to make it appear as though the death count is far lower than it actually is. Even Caixin, a media outlet based out of China, reported on thousands of urns that were supposedly spotted in Wuhan, the epicenter of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19).”

Let’s Not Re-Open the Universities at All! By James Reed

Oh, the US universities are crying, as well they should, in this endgame of globalism, and these entities have globalism in their very name, which just has to be bad:
  https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/math-not-pretty-covid-concerns-spark-existential-threat-many-colleges

“Colleges across the country are trying to figure out whether they can reopen campus this fall. Right now, it's a 50/50 shot. No one knows, and with a second coronavirus wave looming later this year, face-to-face classes might not be seen until early 2021. Ted Mitchell, president of the American Council on Education, said reopening colleges could be a drawn-out process and lead to a 15% decline in students, resulting in billions of dollars lost for schools. "The math is not pretty," Robert Kelchen, a student at Seton Hall University in New Jersey, told NPR News. "Colleges are stressed both on the revenue side and on the expenditure side." The transition to virtual classes has been epic. Schools in nearly every state have moved courses online in just weeks, triggering lawsuits filed by some students that claim refunds for tuition, fees, and room and board must be seen.  Dominique Baker, a professor of education policy at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, warned that every college would feel financial stress related to coronavirus lockdowns. NPR estimates that virus lockdowns are leading to significant losses for some universities:

The UN: Commo Rot from the Beginning By James Reed

We know that the UN is full of commos, but what many do not know is that this was always so, and that a leading communist of the time, got the whole globalist ball rolling:
  https://www.lifezette.com/2020/04/the-communist-spy-who-started-the-u-n/

“Since the United Nations was established in 1945, with one noted exception, the intergovernmental organization has not covered itself in glory. That exception was the 1950 U.N./American-led action in Korea that saved the South Korean people from communist tyranny. Aside from that the U.N. has been a long-running socialist and despot fan convention. For some time the organization has fallen for every Third World scam, every authoritarian tinhorn, and every racist and anti-Semitic lunatic that could afford the travel fare to Manhattan. One of the reasons for the failure of the U.N. lies in its inception. The American chiefly responsible for the U.N. Charter, the man who served as the U.N.’s first de facto Secretary General, was the entire time a high-level mole in the U.S. government spying for the communist Soviet Union. His name was Alger Hiss. Hiss guided the U.N. process from its very conception to the opening session of the organization in June of 1945. He was praised by Soviet officials for his “impartiality and fairness.” At the same time, he was passing internal U.N. documents and sensitive classified U.S. material to his Soviet handlers.

It Was all for Nothing By Peter West

Many World War II vets feel that their sacrifice was all for nothing, and I think that they are right:
  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1229643/This-isnt-Britain-fought-say-unknown-warriors-WWII.html

“Sarah Robinson was just a teenager when World War II broke out. She endured the Blitz, watching for fires during Luftwaffe air raids armed with a bucket of sand. Often, she would walk ten miles home from work in the blackout, with bombs falling around her. As soon as she turned 18, she joined the Royal Navy to do her bit for the war effort. Hers was a small part in a huge, history-making enterprise, and her contribution epitomises her generation's sense of service and sacrifice. Nearly 400,000 Britons died. Millions more were scarred by the experience, physically and mentally. But was it worth it? Her answer - and the answer of many of her contemporaries, now in their 80s and 90s - is a resounding No. They despise what has become of the Britain they once fought to save. It's not our country any more, they say, in sorrow and anger. Sarah harks back to the days when 'people kept the laws and were polite and courteous. We didn't have much money, but we were contented and happy. 'People whistled and sang. There was still the United Kingdom, our country, which we had fought for, our freedom, democracy. But where is it now?!'

Sweden and the Surging Wuflu By Brian Simpson

Sweden has been a test case for those of us who believe that Covid-19, is not a regular flu, but is still no Black Death. Sweden had minimal isolations and social distancing. It is the model of what many conservatives think should have happened:
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2020-04-21-coronavirus-killed-more-americans-in-last-17-days-than-regular-flu-year.html
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2020-04-22-china-locks-down-city-of-11-million-sweden-death-rate-surges.html

“It seems that optimistic reports about China having the coronavirus completely under control and Sweden avoiding infections without resorting to lockdowns are both premature. In news that broke today, China has just placed a city of 11 million people under lockdown as an asymptomatic carrier of the coronavirus managed to infect 70 other people even after she spent 14 days in quarantine and showed no symptoms. The city is Harbin, and the carrier is a 22-year-old student who returned to China from New York, according to The Daily Star UK. She inadvertently infected dozens of people at a gathering, and one of those people ended up in the hospital, ultimately causing an outbreak that spread across two different hospitals in the region. “The city has implemented a strict lockdown, with gates to all communities and villages remaining guarded,” reports The Daily Star. “Citizens have been asked to wear face masks when stepping out of villages, as well as have their temperatures checked. Public events have been cancelled and gatherings have been banned.” So much for the theory that the coronavirus is easy to control.

The Coming of Starvation in the West By Brian Simpson

It looks like the horsemen of the apocalypse are riding in the West. Regardless of the debates about the severity of Covid-19, and coronaviruses to quickly come after it, there is a growing concern about food shortages, arising from the economic shutdowns. (In my tiredness  I accidentally typed “sh*tdown” which I think may have to become a word.). It would be a bitter irony if more people ended up dying of malnutrition and associated diseases that from the virus.

“The journey from field to plate has been interrupted in our locked down world. Why it matters: With some crops rotting in fields and others subject to export bans, the coronavirus crisis could cause shortages in richer countries and hunger in poorer ones. In Europe, as in North America, the harvest depends on migration.

Why Do We Need a World Health Organization, Anyway? By Chris Knight

In a rare show of courage, President Trump has suspended US funds to the World Health Organization until there has been an inquiry into its handling of the coronavirus crisis, since WHO gave the US the advice that this was just a flu that would blow over. As these quotes will show, this is yet another globalist organisation pursuing anti-nation agendas, soaked in political correctness, and a servant of China:
  https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/04/14/donald-trump-berates-politically-correct-who-orders-hold-on-funding/

“President Donald Trump ordered a hold on funds sent to the World Health Organization Tuesday, demanding that they answer for their failures to properly warn the world about the coronavirus. The president criticized the WHO for criticizing his travel ban on China during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic. “The WHO’s attack on travel restrictions put political correctness above life-saving measures,” Trump said. Trump announced his decision at a press conference in the Rose Garden on Tuesday. “We spend $500 million a year,” Trump said, noting that China only spent $30-$40 million. He noted that the WHO played a role in “mismanaging and covering up” the spread of the coronavirus around the world. “The WHO pushed China’s misinformation about the virus, saying it was not communicable and there was no need for travel bans,” he said.

The Corona New World Order By Paul Walker

Covid-19 has put the old globalism on hold, the one involving totally open borders and mass movements of people. That is not going away in the longer term, since the main agenda of the top-level elites is to eliminate basically a Nordic racial feature in the human population, for whatever aesthetic reasons they have. They will be getting back to that program, but for the moment, the coronavirus pandemic has given them a new horizon, to achieve other evil agendas that were previously bubbling along ok in their own cauldron, but which now go intro over-drive, like a Health Care Patriot Act, detailed by US Ron Paul, who allowed reproduction with link:
  http://ronpaulinstitute.org/archives/featured-articles/2020/april/13/a-healthcare-patriot-act/

“According to a story in Politico, the White House Coronavirus Task Force is considering creating a national surveillance system to track Americans’ health information. Supporters of this initiative claim it would enable the federal government to quickly identify areas in need of additional medical supplies and other assistance because the areas are coronavirus “hot spots.” Of course, it is unlikely that this system would be limited to only tracking coronavirus patients. The government may eventually keep track of every hospital admission — or even all visits to doctors’ offices — in the United States. This system could, and likely would, be used to violate privacy and harass and intimidate those challenging existing government policies. Anyone who doubts this should ask themselves what J. Edgar Hoover or Lois Lerner would have done with access to every American’s medical history. No wonder some have described this as a healthcare PATRIOT Act. Despite official denial that the White House is considering a new tracking program, the coronavirus panic may be used to justify giving the federal government access to our medical records. Politicians, bureaucrats, and special interests have for years been trying to create a database of all Americans’ medical records that could be accessed by federal bureaucrats and government-favored special interests. The 2008 “stimulus” bill included federal funding to develop a system to store healthcare records electronically. This was a step toward creating a federally controlled database of all Americans’ healthcare records.

When You Social Distance So Well the Cops have to Find You by Helicopter! By Bruce Bennett

Overseas folk are laughing at this classic piece of new-world-orderism, but really, the police are only doing their job, and if you have a helicopter, why try and use it to bust ethnic drug growing, now an institution in certain cities,  when you can track down isolated family campers, who may be passing on Covid-19 to … nobody:
  https://www.theaustralian.com.au/arts/books/reporter-bob-bottom-shone-light-on-darkness/news-story/0773866231a97cb51ff57614fa2af4e2

“Police in Tasmania are using a surveillance helicopter to track down people camping in remote locations in violation of coronavirus lockdown laws. “Tasmania Police officers conducting aerial surveillance around the state, including on the North-West Coast located several campsites where people were directed to leave and return home,” reports The Advocate. “When u social distance so well that the cops have to find u by helicopter,” tweeted Twitter user @PetiteNicoco. 17 people across the state were charged with a lockdown offense in a period of just 24 hours over the Easter weekend. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter “landed near campsites which were viewed from the air” to interrogate campers in the region. Where the chopper couldn’t land, officers were dispatched to the area on foot. Commander Rob Blackwood called the campers “selfish” for endangering other people during the COVID-19 pandemic despite them literally being around no other people. “Covert and marked police vehicles, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, will continue to undertake patrols around the state, so if you’re away from your primary residence you can expect police to stop and speak to you about your movements,” Tasmania Police said on their Facebook page. The practice was denounced by many as absurd overkill given that the campers are hardly posing a threat to anybody.”

The Zombie Economy By Chris Knight

Health ranger, Mike Adams, over at Natural News.com, is pro-freedom libertarian type, with Christian conservative values, I think. Thus, he opposes the Universal Basic Income, and I suppose the social credit dividend as well, although I found nothing at his site on our form of social credit; of course, he is dead against the Chinese version, bad social credit. However, he does have a point, that Trump paying oil drillers not to drill is crazy, when what should be done, is oil drillers getting the latest protective equipment against the virus. This mentality is leading to zombie economics, even sending free money to the dead, and heaps of errors too:
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2020-04-15-zombie-nomics-are-you-ready-for-the-universal-basic-collapse.html
  https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/indiana-man-waiting-1700-stimulus-finds-82-million-bank-account-instead

“What’s being rolled out in all this, of course, is a “zombie economy.” It is characterized by the astonishing fact that federal bailout checks are being sent to dead people. If we don’t stop the rise of the zombie economy with its endless bailouts and government control over markets, incomes and debt, here’s where all this leads: In a zombie economy, everybody is paid to do nothing. All the prices of assets and goods are set by the government to create the appearance of “wealth” when no one is producing anything of value. Homeless millionaires. People living on the street will think they “own” millions of dollars in stocks and pension funds. It’s all illusion, of course, designed to continue the coordinated bankster looting of America which will transfer all the wealth of the working class into the pockets of the politically connected elite. Right now in America, we have “quantity limits” on everyday goods. Soon, they will evolve into price controls. Once that kicks in, there will be horrendous shortages of basic goods such as groceries, gasoline, automobiles and household goods. To create the illusion of affordability, the government will dictate price controls that result in immediate shortages and large-scale black market trading of essential items like toilet paper and garden seeds. One day soon, garden seeds will be “contraband” if sold at non-government prices (i.e. free market prices), and “seed smugglers” will be arrested and imprisoned for trafficking in lettuce seeds or “unauthorized” fertilizer. Grocery stores will become prison camps, with strict item limits, long waiting lines and mandatory biometric identification to make sure people don’t buy “too much” stuff at the government-controlled prices. Essentially, America will become Venezuela.

“A German medical lawyer who criticized the coronavirus lockdown law was arrested and taken to a psychiatric ward, where she says she was violently abused by authorities. Beate Bahner published a press release on April 3rd decrying the German lockdown laws as “flagrantly unconstitutional, infringing to an unprecedented extent many of the fundamental rights of citizens.” “These measures are not justified by the Infection Prevention Act, hurriedly amended just a few days ago,” she asserted. “Long-term restrictions on leaving home and meeting others, based on high-death-rate modelled scenarios, which fail to take account of actual critical expert opinions, and the complete shutdown of businesses and shops with no proof that they pose any risk of infection, are thoroughly unlawful.” Bahner called for a nationwide protest on Easter Sunday to “end the tyranny at once,” before Heidelberg Police announced that they would seek to prosecute her for inciting Germans to break the law. On April 13th, Bahner called her sister from Heidelberg’s Klinik fur Allgemeine Psychiatrie describing what happened to her. After claiming she was “suspiciously” followed by a car, Bahner says she asked another motorist to call the police only for the police to show up, handcuff her and push her to the ground “with massive force.” After being driven to the psychiatric facility, Bahner says she was treated like a terrorist. “I asked to be allowed to sit down and was shown to a bench. Then I asked to have the handcuffs taken off, since it was actually I who had requested police protection,” she recounted. “But instead, I was thrown to the floor again, having my head hurled onto the stone floor from a meter height, which nobody reacted to. Then I was forced to spend the night lying on the floor in some high-security Guantanamo psychiatric clinic…there was no toilet, no sink, though they did allow me water, and there was a bell I could ring, though they ignored it after the third time I pressed it.” The lawyer was charged for incitement yesterday, with her attorney sounding the alarm bell over her treatment.”

Approaching Infinite Corona Unemployment! By James Reed

This is sombre news for Australians as the projected unemployment from the coronavirus pandemic could lead to one quarter of the workforce being unemployed. And, once small businesses lose the critical momentum to keep going, they simply may not be able to restart. I walked through the city to find a place where I could use a computer, no easy task in itself, but it was all a ghost town, shops closed everywhere. It reminded me of the deserted streets scene form post-apocalyptic movies such ads On the Beach (1959):

“We knew it would be bad. But we’d hoped it wouldn’t be quite this bad. Over the past few weeks, we at Grattan Institute have been working on ways to estimate the impact of the COVID-19 shutdown on jobs in Australia. It’s a complex task, with few obvious precedents. The results, detailed in our new working paper, “Shutdown: estimating the COVID-19 employment shock”, are worrying. Our estimate is that between a sixth and a quarter of Australia’s workforce is likely to be out of work because of the COVID-19 shutdown and social distancing. It derives from two sources of information. The first is data from the United States on the extent to which each occupation requires workers to be near other people. The “physical proximity” requirements of a job are generally likely to be a good guide to how likely it is the job can continue during the shutdown. The second source of information is a set of estimates by Grattan researchers of the extent to which jobs are under threat in each of 88 industries in Australia. Our preferred method for estimating the hit to jobs combines both these sources. We also use two alternative methods, each of which is relying on a single source of data, which are outlined in our working paper. Our preferred method finds that about 26% of workers – 3.4 million Australians – could be thrown out of work as a direct result of the shutdown and social distancing. The alternative methods produce figures that are lower, but still distressingly high.”
