Will the Real Dole Bludgers Please Lay Down? By James Reed

I was just about to write my reply to these Leftoid university types who were celebrating the death of the Queen, calling her a “bludger,” when the ultimate refutation came up in my news feed in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. There was concern that there might be a falloff on money generated by the Royals for Britain, as the Queen, heading the Royal family generated billions for Britain in tourism, while what do the socialists give us? Why, not even a “happy” communist society, just millions of dead in their revolutions.

“A group of university students staged an event called 'It's good that the Queen is dead' to celebrate the death of the British monarch, who they described as 'one of the biggest dole bludgers'.

The University of New South Wales 'Socialist Alternative' group, which has more than 1,200 followers on Facebook, set up the event called, 'It's good that the Queen is dead - A Socialist Forum'.

'If you're also disgusted by the barrage of mainstream condolences for the death of Queen Elizabeth II, come join the UNSW socialists for a forum about why it's good to see her go!' the group said in publicity for the event.

It described the Queen was 'one of the biggest dole bludgers, sponging off workers' taxes while they choose between heat and food this winter, and oversaw one of the bloodiest empires in the world, second only to the US in its colonial and imperialist violence'.

Alexander Voltz, a spokesperson for the Australian Monarchist League, told Daily Mail Australia both the university and the community should be repulsed by the actions of the Socialist Alternative group.

'The Australian Monarchist League is absolutely repulsed to have learnt that a University of New South Wales student society called UNSW Socialist Alternative yesterday hosted an event on campus called 'It's good that the Queen is dead – A Socialist Forum',' Mr Voltz said.

'The University of New South Wales should, quite frankly, be embarrassed by the ignorance of its students.

'So too should the general public be appalled that the university's administration permitted a venue – likely at the expense of compulsory student amenities fees – for this anarchistic celebration to take place.'

Mr Voltz said the university should be appalled that the students acted in such 'obscene fashion' following the death of the Queen who he described as 'a great lady, but a human being who was the very personification of courage, benevolence and wisdom'.

The University of New South Wales (UNSW) told Daily Mail Australia it did not shy away from controversy and will continue to support freedom of speech.

'Our university is a place where many different views and opinions are expressed and vigorously debated,' said a spokesperson for UNSW.

'We do not shy away from what is controversial and expect those engaged in these debates to treat others with respect.

'UNSW supports freedom of speech within the law and has an unequivocal commitment to freedom of speech.

'We will continue our efforts as a university community to ensure our campuses support freedom of speech in a safe and respectful environment.'
