Why Do We Need a World Health Organization, Anyway? By Chris Knight

In a rare show of courage, President Trump has suspended US funds to the World Health Organization until there has been an inquiry into its handling of the coronavirus crisis, since WHO gave the US the advice that this was just a flu that would blow over. As these quotes will show, this is yet another globalist organisation pursuing anti-nation agendas, soaked in political correctness, and a servant of China:

“President Donald Trump ordered a hold on funds sent to the World Health Organization Tuesday, demanding that they answer for their failures to properly warn the world about the coronavirus. The president criticized the WHO for criticizing his travel ban on China during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic. “The WHO’s attack on travel restrictions put political correctness above life-saving measures,” Trump said. Trump announced his decision at a press conference in the Rose Garden on Tuesday. “We spend $500 million a year,” Trump said, noting that China only spent $30-$40 million. He noted that the WHO played a role in “mismanaging and covering up” the spread of the coronavirus around the world. “The WHO pushed China’s misinformation about the virus, saying it was not communicable and there was no need for travel bans,” he said.

What is astonishing is the World Health Organization fully supported, and still does, the Chinese wet markets, where the coronavirus, according to the received narrative, arose. Even Australia is having trouble with that one:
  https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/04/14/unfathomable-australia-hits-who-support-for-china-wet-markets-in-coronavirus-epicenter/

“Australia confronted the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday over claims it supports so-called wet markets reopening in the Chinese city of Wuhan, the source of the global coronavirus outbreak. Prime Minister Scott Morrison demanded answers about the markets,  saying it was “unfathomable” for WHO to back live animal markets (open-air slaughterhouses) at a time when the Chinese coronavirus pandemic is sweeping the world. “I’m totally puzzled by this decision,” Morrison said, according to the Canberra Times.  “We need to protect the world against potential sources of outbreaks of these types of viruses. “It has happened too many times.” The conservative coalition leader also demanded transparency in understanding the origin of the disease and protection from the global threat of China’s notorious open marketplaces. Morrison described the WHO decision as “unfathomable” claiming the wet markets were a “global health threat.” “Australia and the world will be looking to organisations like the WHO to ensure lessons are learned from the devastating coronavirus outbreak,” Morrison told the Australian newspaper. “There must be transparency in understanding how it began in Wuhan and how it was transmitted. We also need to fully understand and protect against the global health threat posed by places like wet markets.”

Global leaders have previously urged China to ban the “deadly and diseased” food markets, but the World Health Organisation disagrees, saying it can advise but not force the closures many ask for. Stop press, after criticism WHO has caved in ands done a 180 degree turn:

One has to ask why this incredible situation is happening. And, the answer is not too hard to find: the World Health organization, is, to put it mildly, under the influence of communist China:
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2020-04-13-purge-world-health-organization-chinese-influence.html

“The head of WHO, Ethiopian microbiologist Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, did almost nothing to warn the world of the burgeoning outbreak that he and other members of his organization had to know was coming. Instead, Tedros served as chief China propagandist, deflecting criticism of the ChiCom regime while covering for Beijing’s lies about how bad COVID-19 really was, where it actually came from, and what effects it had on humans. The WHO, the United Nations, and any other global body that continues to bend to China’s will instead of being deferential to the world’s democracies, should be forced to reform or we should abandon them. And the sooner, the better. As John Hayward at Breitbart News notes, it was good to see President Donald Trump call out the WHO and its director-general, Tedros, over it’s “China-centric” attitude while also threatening to withhold funding from the organization. However, “we should be demanding specific measures to purge it of Chinese influence, beginning with a list of mandatory resignations topped by” Tedros, Hayward writes, adding:

WHO should also present an action plan for cleansing itself of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence, and every other international organization that asks for American funding should do the same. One simple step in the right direction would be banning anyone from a country that participates in China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) from assuming top leadership posts.

The UN has never been any good at what it was designed to do, either
The BRI is a financial vehicle used by Beijing to ‘buy’ influence in other countries and in globalist organizations. Billed as an infrastructure investment initiative, what it really does is allow Beijing to exert undue influence over governments who often go into Beijing’s debt by accepting money for internal projects those countries really can’t afford to build. In exchange, China gets an IOU and ‘access.’ Also, most of the time the projects are built with imported Chinese labor. But the United States also invests in countries, and we do so, generally speaking, with few strings attached. And even so, if there were requirements for our investment, we aren’t an authoritarian regime; our government stands for and promotes freedom and democracy, while China’s does just the opposite. As for WHO and Tedros, Hayward argues — correctly — that he did more to spread the virus than contain it. Even into January, Tedros was shilling for the Chinese. He lavished praise on the ChiComs, and later, when governments like ours began slapping travel bans on China, Tedros criticized them as unnecessarily unfair and harmful to Beijing’s economy. In mid-January, WHO tweeted: “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus (2019-nCoV) identified in #Wuhan, #China.”

For the record, as The Daily Caller adds, lying about the means of transmission wasn’t the only one told by the Communist regime in Beijing. The government reported that the first cases of the virus were recorded in mid-December, but later, outside sources reported that Chinese health officials were documenting and tracking cases a month earlier, but failed to report it. The UN has never been any good at what it was designed to do — serve as a world forum to prevent conflicts. And obviously, the WHO is being led by people who have more in common with tyrants than republics. It’s time to abandon them both.”

We all agree with that sentiment at this site, and since the time of Eric Butler have been attacking the UN and like globalist one world organisations. The present corona disaster shows the flawed nature of such bloated centralised bodies. Far better are national scientific organisations, that freely associate and co-operate with other bodies, reaching consensus by the careful assessment of the scientific evidence, rather than politically correct propaganda.

Postscript: Little old Australia pays more to the World Health Organization than economic super power China:
  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8219731/How-Australia-donates-World-Health-Organisation.html?ito=push-notification&ci=13099&si=1326534

“Australia has donated vastly more money to the World Health Organisation (WHO) than China according to financial documents - even though the Communist nation has been accused of having WHO in its pocket. Prime Minister Scott Morrison is under pressure from his own MPs to slash funding to the UN agency after US President Donald Trump announced he would stop funding WHO over its bungled coronavirus response. Federal Cabinet ministers on Wednesday were shocked that, in a further sign of submission, WHO signed off on China re-opening its 'wet markets' where COVID-19 is believed to have first transmitted from bats to humans. The size of Australia's payments compared with the rest of the world's are laid bare in WHO financial documents, which outline how each country pays both compulsory fees and voluntary contributions to the health agency. The WHO says in recent years, as much as three-quarters of its funding have come from voluntary contributions - and by all accounts, Australia's voluntary contributions are bigger than China's. Australia, population nearly 25 million, paid the UN agency AUD$54.5 million in 2018 - the eight biggest voluntary contribution of 71 member countries. Meanwhile, China, a less wealthy nation with a population of almost 1.4 billion, paid a pitiful $9.83million. Rich countries such as France, population 66 million, coughed up $14million and Canada, with 37.5 million, paid $41.8million, the documents show. The United States and the United Kingdom chipped in the biggest voluntary donations with the US paying $AUD436.8million and the UK $318.7million.”

Friends, we Australians have been suckers, and it is time to wake up and cut WHO funding too.  Who does WHO think they are?
