When There is No Farm Left to Sell by James Reed
Another day, yet more Australian farms sold to China. The Australian, March 6, 2017, p. 1. It could be grain, wool, pig or poultry, the Chinese buy it all. Moreover, the local elites celebrate this as the splendour of the “free” market, even though China will not reciprocate and allow the same economic assault to be done to them, and their economy is protectionist, not “free.”
You can see for this reason alone that the standard media justifications of the buy-ups are just more “false news” and deception, propaganda by the globalists, for the global class.
The utter insanity of the “free” trade position is well illustrated by considering the surge in dairy imports into Australia following the introduction of free trade agreements: $ 1.7 billion worth of dairy imports have been dumped on Australia, as part of a global dairy glut, but there is a slump in local production: http://www.weeklytimesnow.com.au/agribusiness/dairy/dairy-imports-surge-as-exports-stagnate/news-story/1b1354da35d86c7e8da61b586e07f219. This article says that Australian dairy exports have stagnated at $ 3 billion for the past 17 years, while imports have sky rocketed from $ 337 million in the year 2000 to almost $ 1.67 billion in 2016. We do not need any dairy imports.
As I see it, the Australian dairy industry is likely to be destroyed by globalisation, and farms bought at fire sale prices by China.
China has the capacity to buy up Australia’s entire agricultural sector. By the logic, or illogic of “free” (actually “unfree” trade), this is the best thing that Australia could do. Likewise for all infrastructure, everything. Even the parliament could in principle be sold, made a part of China, which is what it now essentially is: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-09-28/former-australia-ambassador-to-china-warns-government-of-beijing/7885140.
There is even a case for the re-introduction of slavery for the dispossessed Australian people within this libertarian framework: http://www.ellerman.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Philmore-1982.scan_.pdf.
The result of free trade and globalisation is the destruction of the smaller society and its enslavement as a virtual colony. Our elites are quite happy to sell us down the river: https://hbr.org/1986/09/the-folly-of-free-trade, selling our birthright for a mess of pottage, as Madison Grant once put it: https://www.amren.com/news/2010/07/madison_grant_a/.
