Welcome Not to Country, but to Truth! By James Reed
Dave Pellowe reports on his victory in his case involving Welcome to Country, where he was critical of, from a Christian perspective, critiquing traditional Aboriginal religion. A complaint was lodged with the Queensland Human Rights Commission. The case was eventually won by Mr Pellowe, as detailed below. The important thing now is that 1,300 people made generous donations, and that is now in a fighting fund to defend others against woke, DefendingDemocrascy.au. Overall, a great victory, one which can help other freedom fighters in the future. It is something worth donating to.

"VICTORIES FOR COMMON sense and freedom seem few and far between these days, and so should be relished and celebrated all the more.
Six months ago, a gentleman began a legal trial against me because he chose to take offence at my criticisms of traditional Aboriginal religion and modern rebellions against Australia. I'm thrilled to now be able to announce, with your generous assistance, we have won!
The always punishing process the complainant instigated has been resolved in the favour of peace and freedom, instead of striving and bitterness. Though coming at a cost which no other reasonable and innocent person should ever be subjected to, it is a magnificent victory which can give courage to us all.
Never silence yourself. Never stop speaking the Truth in love. Never apologise to the woke mob. Never surrender the good fight. Never think you're alone.
Too good not to SHARE!
To recap, I had refused to do an acknowledgement of "Country" at the beginning of a ticketed, Christian, political event in a church, by Christians and for Christians. I replaced the pagan ritual with Scripture which teaches that, actually, the Earth belongs to God. During Q&A time at the end of the night, the complainant's friend asked why I wasn't concerned about offending Aboriginals, to which I gave a frank and full teaching in response.
Aboriginal religion, and the commonly observed extremes of Aboriginal activism, are incompatible with Christianity.
"Country" means something very different in traditional Aboriginal religion, something distinctly religious which clearly contradicts Christian doctrines of Creation, eternal destiny, nature-worship and communicating with the spirits of the dead.
The chronic rebellion and resentment observed in Aboriginal separatism, such as the Aboriginal Tent "Embassy" and the racially-exclusive Aboriginal flag, is also un-Christian.
It should be uncontroversial for a Christian to publicly teach Christian doctrine in a nation which begins its Constitution by acknowledging all people humbly relying on the blessings of Almighty God.
Not only have we prevailed in the booby-trapped legal system, but in the larger culture there has been a noticeable discontentment and rejection of welcome to / acknowledgment of "Country" rituals since my trial became public. I urge all non-pagan Aussies to politely excuse themselves from this imposed religious observance in every possible context with the simple reason, "I'm not pagan."
The scandal isn't my criticism of false religion, but that we have forgotten our national identity in the vainly proud attempt to idolise multiculturalism, as if all ideas are equal. They're not. We've sanctified feelings, at the tragic cost of the sacred freedom to pursue Truth.
Thirty years ago Australians mocked petty, litigious, irresponsible Americans who would sue each other for the silliest of things for personal profit. We mourn that culture coming to Australia, resulting in an over the top safety culture putting warning signs and fences around everything.
The grievance industry, comprised of federal and state human rights commissions, anti-discrimination tribunals and other para-judicial kangaroo courts, has groomed this generation of people to become snowflakes who go to water when exposed to the mild warmth of political or religious debate.
What happened to adult resilience, the ability to take risks like a public conversation about contested ideas, and to accept personal responsibility for your feelings and responses? The grown ups on the right side of most debates hear outrageous, false accusations against us – personally – all the time, and still somehow manage to not become victims demanding Daddy Big Gov punish our critics.
Yet the craven masses sadly manipulated by Marxist entities (such as fill the ranks of the grievance industry) hear criticisms of not even them personally but ideas and actions they choose to identify with, and feel the immediate response justified is to bring the sword of government down on their critics.
If the grievance industry ever was a good idea, it's been commandeered by "progressive" political activists and weaponised against half the nation.
A frivolous, vexatious complaint such as was made against me should never have been allowed, let alone nurtured for more than 23 weeks. When mandatorily dragged before the Queensland Human Rights Commission, there was no sincere attempt at conciliation, and absolutely zero substance to the accusation presented, and yet the QHRC still refused to reject the complaint at every stage.
In a mature society where legal systems were designed to promote justice instead of victimhood, such complainants would be told to grow up and stop wasting the Commission's time and taxpayers' money.
Instead, the grievance industry soothingly strokes their insecurities and validates their emotional incontinence like a meme in "gentle parenting" gone wrong.
I genuinely feel no malice toward the gentleman, but instead compassion for the way ordinary people are turned into victims, consumed by "big feelings" they should have more self-discipline over. We see them far too often in news and social media: engulfed by rage, deceived by delusions, and drowning in despair – all while living in far better freedom to flourish than nearly every generation in preceding human history.
No, my friends, the belligerent complainants are not to be hated. They are to be helped. They really are victims, although not of the people they blame – the alleged "oppressor" class. They are truly victims of the grievance industry, an oppressive, anti-democratic industry hostile to the Truth.
The grievance industry must be reduced to smoking rubble by the next right-thinking government for the sake of arresting and maybe reversing the learned helplessness it promotes among those it claims to help, and for the sake of numerous innocents targeted by activist lawfare.
No nation can long survive the perpetual assault on the freedom to debate which our generation sustains. The freedom to pursue Truth is so sacred, so fundamental to our reason for living that the deprivation of it will surely bring a civilisation to ruin. For the sake of cultural maturity and healthy democracy, the grievance industry must be razed to the ground.
My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go always and humbly to Almighty God, upon Whose blessings I rely. Whether He vindicates me or not, I will never bow down; will never apologise for preaching His Gospel or refusing to worship false gods.
This victory must also be shared and celebrated with the dozens of public figures who participated in the Free Speech telethon to raise funds for both my defence and the defence of other targets of lawfare by the HRLA.
If you find yourself being legally threatened for the actions your conscience demands, firstly stop communicating with the aggressor, secondly get good legal advice.
Over 25,000 people watched the 4.5 hour livestream, over 1,300 people donated an average of $130, and we've (so far) raised over $172,000 as a warchest to defend people with less profile. This is their victory, as will be the victories which will follow from the significant funds leftover.
We've won this important battle, but it was a mere skirmish in a much larger war. DefendingDemocracy.au must now become an annual free speech event, because the freedom to pursue Truth is worth fighting for, and we all need a shield when the sword of government is tyrannically raised against freedom of speech and religion."
