Unvaccinated Tennis Champ Novak Djokovic, Targeted By Chris Knight (Florida)

After his disgraceful treatment by the Covid mad Australian authorities, tennis great Novak Djokovic has been hit by the present US vaccine mandate. Yes, this still exists, the elites love their Covid, and cling to it like security blankets. Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio just wrote a  letter to President Biden, urging him to grant Novak Djokovic’s request to waive the current Covid-19 “vaccine” mandate, because, it makes no sense whatsoever, if as Biden said, the pandemic is over. “In light of these changing circumstances, and admissions by you and members of your own administration, the current restrictive vaccine mandate which you have maintained for international travelers entering the United States seems outdated and worthy of rescission.”

That is so, but the Covid Left are not giving up easy the thing which gave them so much totalitarian joy.

Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio just wrote a graceful letter to President Biden, urging him to grant Novak Djokovic’s request to waive the current COVID-19 “vaccine” mandate for international travelers entering the United States. The Senators show great restraint in their missive, which sets forth a rational argument for letting the champion into the country to play. I would have been tempted to tell the president that his discriminatory policy against foreign national visitors is an insult to common sense, science, basic principles of liberal democracy, and the spirit of international sportsmanship going back to the ancient Olympic Games.

There will come a day when the Biden Administration’s conduct in this matter is generally regarded as an embarrassing disgrace. It seems to me that those who are responsible for it are either captured by undisclosed interests, completely out of touch with reality, or (most likely) a combination of both. Even the Australian government, with its abominable treatment of Djokovic in 2022, had the common sense to let him play in this year’s Australian Open.

Bravo Senators Scott and Rubio. Shame on Djokovic’s fellow players and the US Professional Tennis Association for their failure to protest the exclusion of their distinguished colleague. Without him, it will be a hollow victory for whoever wins the men’s division.

It has come to our attention that your administration is in receipt of a request to waive the current vaccine mandate for international travelers entering the United States from top-ranked men’s tennis player Novak Djokovic. We write to urge you to grant the requested waiver, which is necessary to allow Mr. Djokovic to compete in the Miami Open professional tennis tournament held in our home state of Florida beginning March 19, 2023. In September 2022, you plainly declared to a national audience on 60 Minutes that “the [COVID-19] pandemic is over,” and, earlier this year, Dr. Anthony Fauci published a professional article acknowledging the limited efficacy of vaccines in protecting against respiratory pathogens, like the novel coronavirus. In light of these changing circumstances, and admissions by you and members of your own administration, the current restrictive vaccine mandate which you have maintained for international travelers entering the United States seems outdated and worthy of rescission. Mr. Djokovic is a world-class athlete in peak physical condition who is not at high-risk of severe complications from COVID-19. It seems both illogical and misaligned with the opinions of your own administration to not grant him the waiver he requests so that he may travel to the U.S. to compete in a professional event. The lack of public health risk, along with the clear benefit of his participation in an event that will be a major driver for our local economies should make the decision before you simple and serve as a precedent for others in his position, while hopefully leading to the full reversal of this mandate for other foreign visitors who wish to legally travel to our great nation.
