The Trump vs Biden presidential debate was very much a fizzer, with the predictable mudslinging. While no doubt Biden had been pumped full of every drug known to the Deep State to ensure some sort of performance, it does seem that the opening stages of the debate have alarmed the Democrats by Biden's poor performance. As News.com notes:
"Joe Biden suffered an awkward verbal stumble while trying to talk about the health system.
"... making sure that we're able to make every single solitary person eligible for what I've been able to do with the Covid – excuse me, with dealing with everything we have to do with. Look, if – we finally beat Medicare," Mr Biden said.
And that was the end of his answer. Mr Trump pounced.
"Well, he's right – he did beat Medicare. He beat it to death. He's destroying Medicare," said the former president.
"Because all of these people are coming in. They're putting them on Medicare, putting them on Social Security. They're gonna destroy Social Security."
That was a mistake made by a president seeking re-election, which does not generate much confidence. The internet, such as YouTube, has numerous Leftoid social media types freaking out over this under-performance.
Indeed, it seems that Democrats are now panicking about the performance, going into damage control. However, there are technicalities about replacing Biden now, so it will be interesting to see how this goes.
"CNN morning host Kasie Hunt wrote on X before the debate was over that Biden's weak demeanor had all her Democrat friends "nearly beside themselves."
"The voice, open-mouthed look, and visual contrast between President Biden and former President Trump all have Democrats I'm talking to nearly beside themselves watching this debate," she said.
ABC News' Jonathan Karl said Democrats are saying "Biden is so diminished it's undeniable now."
In a piece at the New York Time's, columnist John Healy wrote: "I'm Hearing High Anxiety From Democrats Over Biden's Debate Performance."
Nicholas Kristof wrote on X: "I wish Biden would reflect on this debate performance and then announce his decision to withdraw from the race, throwing the choice of Democratic nominee to the convention. Someone like @gretchenwhitmer or @SherrodBrown or @SecRaimondo could still jump in and beat Trump."
From start to finish, Biden looked and sounded weak. His voice was raspy, he stumbled repeatedly over his words, and told stale, long-debunked lies like the "very fine people" hoax and military "suckers and losers" hoax. When the topic turned to the border, Biden falsely claimed that the Border Patrol union had endorsed him.
"By the way the border patrol endorsed me, endorsed my position," Biden said, as Trump shook his head in disbelief.
Border Patrol Union (NBPC) immediately responded on X: "To be clear, we never have and never will endorse Biden."
During the CNN roundtable after the debate, the network's liberal pundits shared their dismay at Biden's performance
