The Shape of Progressive Gymnastics By the Angry Granny, Mrs Vera West
Right, let’s get to it in rounding up this week’s leading news items in the theatre of the absurd, or should I say, gymnastics?

“Female gymnasts of all ages at thousands of British clubs must now use the same changing facilities and toilets as males who identify as female, following a ruling by the sport’s governing body. Women and girls travelling to official competitions have also been told they must share accommodation with boys and men who identify as female. Controversially, the edict by British Gymnastics, which has a membership of more than 350,000 – the vast majority of whom are under 16 – bans coaches from telling parents their daughter is sharing a room with a boy who has declared themself as female. It adds that anyone ‘unhappy’ with the new rules must make their own ‘alternative arrangements’. It is unclear whether males who identify as females will be allowed to share showers with female gymnasts. There has been a furious backlash from parents, who say the organisation’s transgender policy – introduced after advice from transgender campaigners – puts their daughters’ safety at risk. In a further ruling, boys and men who identify as female are allowed to participate in female-only competitions.
Does anyone see any problem with this? Not to worry for transgender wrestlers are doing just fine, and that is what really matters in the world:

“For the second year in a row, a transgender wrestler has won the Texas girls’ Class 6A 110-pound division. Mack Beggs, an 18-year-old senior from Euless Trinity High School near Dallas, entered the tournament in Cypress outside of Houston with an undefeated record. He beat Chelsea Sanchez — whom he beat for the title in 2017- in the final match Saturday. Video posted online showed a mix of cheers and boos from the crowd following Beggs‘ win. Beggs is in the process of transitioning from female to male and taking a low-dose of testosterone. It was his steroid therapy treatments while wrestling girls that stirred a fierce debate about competitive fairness and transgender rights last season
Oh, it is just a game, don’t be so intolerant, embrace your inner diversity! Come on, this is 2019, and men can give birth to babies, even though being a male is a social construction, as is giving birth, and babies.

“A transgender man who gave birth to a baby boy says being pregnant cemented their bond, but admits he wouldn't do it again after receiving 'daily abuse and judgement' from strangers. Wyley Simpson, 28, who lives in Texas with fiancé, Stephen Gaeth, 28, began transitioning to male from female at the age of 21. Despite taking testosterone therapy and being told by doctors that he could not fall pregnant as he had stopped having periods, the couple discovered he was pregnant in February 2018. Although they initially did not feel ready to become parents, Wyley carried through with his pregnancy - while battling abuse and judgement from strangers on a daily basis. In September 2018, Wyley gave birth to their 7lb 5oz son, Rowan, via emergency C-section, and admits all of the comments were worth it- but he wouldn't go through it again. The couple have just celebrated their son reaching the six-month mark, and have revealed what pregnant life and parenthood is like.”
This one touched me so deeply, so profoundly, that I had to cry, using more tissues than I could afford. Not to worry, I have spare toilet paper to wipe my beak when things get emotional again! Don’t be shocked, for this is early days now, and we have not seen anything yet. Even more good things are in store for us, like we have seen from the 1960s to today. Just imagine the world in 100,000 AD!
