I have covered this topic a number of times at the blog, and the question of viral evolution was one of my arguments given against the reliance upon the Covid vaxxes back at the time of the rollout. My argument was that with the corona viruses, vaccines will be of limited use given the rapid mutation of the virus itself. And, that was proven true by the way variant after variant was found. As well, the Covid vaxxes proved to be of limited effectiveness, with people getting vaxxed, and still getting the disease. What has been proposed is the mass vaccination regime has put evolutionary pressure upon the Covid-19 virus to mutate, and as the vaccines are “leaky” and do not prevent transmission, the virus has spread and will continue to spread. Petrol has been put on a small fire, to make it into a bushfire. If societies were not at the mercy of Big Pharma, the Covid issue could have ben dealt with like any other flu, and herd immunity would have happened long ago.

“So many people around the world have witnessed first hand the obvious failure of COVID-19 vaccines. Put simply, they took all the shots and still got COVID-19. Sadly some were hospitalized and died despite being “fully protected” from one of the COVID-19 vaccines.
Because SARS-CoV-2 makes mistakes in replication, there is always a flora of mutants and when a new ecological pressure is exerted, for example, antibodies raised by the next COVID-19 vaccine, the variants that can most successfully thrive in the nasopharynx of the vaccinated will predominate.
Van Egeren and colleagues have performed meticulous calculations of spread and virulence according to ecological pressures and continued propagation of the outbreak. They have concluded that it is impossible for frequent injections of either the same or modified boosters to be successful. In other words, even with perfect compliance the vaccine campaign is destined for failure. The nail in the coffin for COVID-19 vaccination is that even if they worked, only 16% of adults are risking any more booster shots.”

“Abstract
The rapid emergence of immune-evading viral variants of SARS-CoV-2 calls into question the practicality of a vaccine-only public-health strategy for managing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It has been suggested that widespread vaccination is necessary to prevent the emergence of future immune-evading mutants. Here, we examined that proposition using stochastic computational models of viral transmission and mutation. Specifically, we looked at the likelihood of emergence of immune escape variants requiring multiple mutations and the impact of vaccination on this process. Our results suggest that the transmission rate of intermediate SARS-CoV-2 mutants will impact the rate at which novel immune-evading variants appear. While vaccination can lower the rate at which new variants appear, other interventions that reduce transmission can also have the same effect. Crucially, relying solely on widespread and repeated vaccination (vaccinating the entire population multiple times a year) is not sufficient to prevent the emergence of novel immune-evading strains, if transmission rates remain high within the population. Thus, vaccines alone are incapable of slowing the pace of evolution of immune evasion, and vaccinal protection against severe and fatal outcomes for COVID-19 patients is therefore not assured.”
