The Modern West: An Anti-Social Social Club By Brian Simpson

     I saw a student wearing one. Fine, but is the very idea contradictory, that of having a club that no one goes to, much like Groucho Marx's one-liner: “I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.” Actually, this is not contradictory either, as the asserter will not join any clubs. However, the very idea of an anti-social social club is not necessarily self-contradictory. Suppose a social club is a club where people interact, or at least a space where they are together, however discordant. Being anti-social means having a profound dislike of socialising, but not necessarily not socialising at all, merely disliking it. Hence in the anti-social social club, we would have a most sorry bunch of individuals who while together hated the experience, and fought, perhaps.

     It is the model of modern diverse society, which has the social cohesion of a handful of sand thrown into the wind.

“Maybe she was sad about the lack of migrant kids available for a photo op? That’s the question we’re asking after finding new photos of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) at a border entry gate days before she won the Democratic primary. Photographer Ivan Pierre Aguirre recently posted pictures from AOC’s trip to the border last year, which depict the congresswoman crying, presumably at the sight of nearby migrant children being inhumanely detained. “Before @AOC hit the national stage & was just a fairly unknown House candidate frm NYC,she took time awy frm her campaign & came dwn to #Tornillo to protest the #tentcity housing migrant children.” Aguirre wrote on Twitter. “I made these previously unpublished fotos a yr ago today.” AOC helped bring the photos international attention after writing of the images: “I’ll never forget this, because it was the moment I saw with my own eyes that the America I love was becoming a nation that steals refugee children from their parents,& caged them.”

“More kids died after this,” she added. “To date, no one has been held accountable. We need to save these kids.” Grabien News searched Getty Images’ archive and located alternate-angle photos from this same event. The images, seen below, indicate AOC was crying at the sight of … a mostly empty lot. Getty photographer Joe Raedle also did not mention migrant children being visible. Here’s his description of the photos: “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stands at the Tornillo-Guadalupe port of entry gate on June 24, 2018 in Tornillo, Texas. She is part of a group protesting the separation of children from their parents after they were caught entering the U.S. under the administration's zero tolerance policy.”

     It gets even more cynical, with democrats actively working to create a more intense border crisis, in an evil dialectics:

“As you probably know, Nancy Pelosi, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), and a slew of other mealy-mouthed leftist Democrats love to rile up their cultists by spreading fake news about President Trump detaining illegal alien children in “scary” border “cages.” But it’s these same leftist Democrats who refuse to send assistance and supplies to these children, including simple bedding for them to sleep on in comfort as they await processing.

Darrell Issa, another Republican, has expressed similar sentiments. “This is the first time, and I served 18 years in the House, this is the first time that I’ve seen Democrats refuse to provide humanitarian aid because they hate the president more than they are concerned over the welfare of those people at the border,” he’s quoted as saying. But don’t expect the truth from the likes of AOC, who recently took to Twitter in contrived, virtue signalling fashion to lay it on thick about those poor, poor children at the border whom she hypocritically refuses to support due to her hatred for President Trump.”
