The Left Stalked a Female Politician By Mrs Vera West
I almost passed over this item received via email, but something caught my eye. It was about Nicolle Flint, former Liberal from South Australia, returning to politics. She left the Liberal Party after being subject to harassment, that apparently went unpunished. It was by Leftist politicians and Left activists. Men on the Left told her that she should be raped or killed; terrible stuff. I do not know from the story if the police were involved, but they should have been.
For our purposes this shows the utter ruthlessness of the Left, who do not by any means play fair, and will do what it takes to destroy an opponent. Nasty pasties, indeed. But, we knew that.
“It took a year and a few life changes but Nicolle Flint is back in the game. In 2021 she announced she would not recontest her seat and last year stepped away from federal politics, angry and exhausted.
She was finished, burnt out and could not endure the gendered abuse aimed so personally at her. In her last speech to parliament as the Liberal member for the South Australian seat of Boothby, she let fly.
“Men on the left, some of whom are public figures of influence, have done the following: they’ve stalked me, suggested I should be strangled, criticised the clothes I wear and the way I look, called me a whiny little bitch …,” she said. There was more, most of it too extreme to print, but which included threats that she should be raped, killed, or should kill herself.
She felt done with politics and walked away from public life.
Then, last January came the first flickering signs of life as Flint spoke out in support of another woman being mercilessly abused.
She hit out at activist group GetUp for its statement yesterday defending its actions against during the 2019 election campaign, where Ms Flint was one of several MPs targeted.
“I cannot believe that GetUp are claiming that the tens of thousands of phone calls their volunteers made calling me ‘evil’ and the groups of protesters following me around my electorate to hunt me down and intimidate me, often with a man who stalked me, was acceptable behaviour,” she said.
She also hit out at journalists who had described her experience as a “politically-motivated smear campaign against GetUp” and women online who claimed she was “playing the gender card”.
