The Great Baby Formula Crisis By Mrs Sharyn Knight (Florida)

The United States is now facing an acute baby formula crisis, and the White House has dismissed it saying, see a doctor if your baby is starving to death! But one group of babies will get all of the formula which they want, the so-called refugees pouring in over the border in the Great Replacement. The shortage seems to be due to a recall at Abbott, the largest supplier of infant formula in America, for quality control, as about three months ago, four infants became ill, so the Michigan Facility was shut down. However,  the FDA and CDC stated that the bacterial strain that made the four babies sick didn’t match the strain of bacteria that was found at the Abbott facility, but still the plant the plant remained closed, but may reopen soon. It is yet another good reason to be a prepper and put aside those things which will in the future be in short supply, like, everything.

“White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said parents who are worried about their baby’s immediate needs for formula amid a nationwide shortage should “call their doctor” in a press briefing on Thursday.

After a reporter asked Psaki what should parents who cannot find baby formul do, she detailed the steps the White House is taking to address the baby formula shortage.

“I’m just wondering if you’re a parent today and you go to the store, you can’t find any formula on the shelves, as is being reported across the country. What is what is the step that they should take?” the reporter asked.

Psaki noted that the reporter raised “important public health questions,” but did not provide immediate steps for parents to take.

Psaki continued:

But what I can report on here, what I can convey to all of you is what we’re doing to address exactly that concern, which is taking every step we can to ensure there is supply on store shelves and we have increased the supply over the last four weeks. And as the President, as I noted at the top of this briefing we’re gonna take every step we can to cut red tape to a to ensure we’re working with with retailers like WalMart that we’re working with Wreckit and Gerber and others who can produce more to ensure we are getting supply out to stores and out to retailers so that parents don’t have that concern. But beyond that, that’s what I can read out for all of you from here.

The reporter pressed Psaki for immediate steps families can take amid the formula shortage, to which Psaki said, “call their doctor.”

“We would certainly encourage any parent who has concerns about their child’s health or well being to call their doctor or pediatrician,” Psaki said.

President Joe Biden’s supply chain crisis has hit families harder due to its impact on baby formula. The formula shortage has been increasing since the end of last year.

As Breitbart News reported:

Datasembly also found that in July 2021, the [Out of Stock Percentage] OOS% moved into the double digits and then started to increase significantly towards the end of November 2021 ,where it went from 11 percent nationwide to 31 precent by the week starting April 3, 2022.

For the week starting April 24, there were six states that had baby formula OOS percentages higher than 50 percent:

  • Iowa, South Dakota, and North Dakota were 50-51 percent.
  • Missouri was 52 percent.
  • Texas was 53 percent and Tennessee was 54 percent
  • There were 26 states  that had 40-50 percent out of stock compared to three weeks ago when there were seven.

Biden’s administration has only begun to address the formula shortage this week.”

“Republican U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack said that "pallets" of baby formula are being delivered to an illegal immigrant detention center in Texas while Americans' chances of finding formula on supermarket shelves grow more slim by the day.

What are the details?

Cammack, a Florida lawmaker who was elected in 2020, indicated in a pair of Facebook videos Wednesday that a Border Patrol agent at the Ursula facility in McAllen sent her photos showing pallets of baby formula and other food for infants that had been delivered to the detention center.

“They are sending pallets — pallets — of baby formula to the border,” Cammack said. “Meanwhile, in our own district at home, we cannot find baby formula."

"The first photo is from this morning at the Ursula Processing Center at the U.S. border. Shelves and pallets packed with baby formula," she wrote in a related Twitter post. "The second is from a shelf right here at home. Formula is scarce. This is what America last looks like."

“As American families deal with a shortage of baby formula across the US, a Florida Republican lawmaker has released images of dozens of boxes of the coveted product at a migrant processing facility near the US-Mexico border.

Rep. Kat Cammack shared pictures of “pallets” of infant formula at the Ursula Migrant Processing Center in McAllen, Texas on her Twitter and Facebook pages Wednesday.

“The first photo is from this morning at the Ursula Processing Center at the U.S. border. Shelves and pallets packed with baby formula,” she wrote in a tweet accompanying side-by-side photographs of full and bare shelves. “The second is from a shelf right here at home. Formula is scarce. This is what America last looks like.”

Cammack’s office shared several additional images supposedly from the same location with The Post on Thursday.

The Post was unable to immediately independently verify the location of the images or obtain additional information about the history and frequency of shipments or the distribution of the formula.

In a video posted to Facebook, Cammack noted that while migrant children deserve to be fed, the stockpiling was just “another example of the ‘America Last’ agenda.”

“It is not the children’s fault at all,” the congresswoman said. “But what is infuriating to me is that this is another example of the ‘America Last’ agenda the Biden administration continues to perpetuate.”

The images feature dozens of boxes of various baby formula brands, including Nido and Advantage.

In one of the pictures, the formula appears to have just arrived after being shipped to the facility and it is marked with a “DO NOT TAKE” sign.

Images of the formula on the shelves are not labeled with such a sign. The pictures also include boxes of GoGo squeeZ packs — a common snack for children.

“All these processing facilities are receiving pallets of baby formula,” the congresswoman claimed, adding that she was notified earlier in the day that “three more pallets” are on their way to the facility.

Cammack said in her video that she was sent the images by a Border Patrol agent who has worked in his role for “30 years.”

According to Cammack’s office, the agent did not provide any details on the frequency of the shipments, but did note that the pallets pictured “were just a few” of what had been received Wednesday morning.

“He, as a Border Patrol agent, just took in pallets, pallets of baby formula for all of the illegals that are crossing into the United States,” Cammack said.

Cammack urged her constituents to call their Democratic leaders and “demand that the administration take action on putting the baby formula back on the shelves for American kids.”

“I don’t know about you, but if I am a mother anywhere, anytime in America, and I go to my local Walmart or Target or Publix or Safeway or Kroger or wherever it may be that you shop and you are seeing their shelves and you are seeing signs that you are not able to get baby formula,” Cammack said. “And then you see the American government sending, by the pallet, thousands and thousands of containers of baby formula to the border, that would make my blood boil.”

It was not immediately clear how many containers the border facility had received as of Thursday.

The Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and Ursula Processing Center did not immediately respond to The Post’s inquiry for additional details. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement referred The Post to CBP.

Border officials often have to be prepared to take care of unaccompanied minors crossing the border, though it is unclear how many infants agents might come across.

Typically, infants do not consume formula after they turn 1 year old.

The images of the infant formula come as Americans face a nationwide shortage stemming from a February recall by top supplier Abbott Laboratories of name brand formulas made at its plant in Sturgis, Mich.

The recall followed complaints of bacterial infections infants who consumed the products — which reportedly resulted in at least two deaths and four illnesses.

Abbott Laboratories has defended its product, telling The Post there is “no evidence to link our formulas to these infant illnesses.”

Currently, the company is working to reopen the facility to alleviate the shortage.”
