Editor's note
The election of One Nation's Malcolm Roberts means that climate denial will continue to have a voice in the Senate. But why do these ideas persist? The answer, suggests Stephan Lewandowsky, lies in a trio of well-worn tactics favoured by science deniers of all stripes.

How interesting.  Conversation's Editorial is all about the Senator-elect Malcolm Roberts and his climate 'denial'.

Now why was that particular word used by Professor Lewandowsky?  Not a dissenting climate 'opinion' but a climate 'denial'.

It reminds me of Lady Michele Renouf's comment that Wikipedia will not accept the term Holocaust 'Revisionists' when the thorny subject is discussed.  One must refer to those who disagree with a particular version of history must refer to it as Holocaust 'denial'. Hmmm... worth thinking about.
