The Elites and the Final Wave of Immigration By Charles Taylor

     I do not particularly like American Renaissance, since its support of some theses such as Asian IQ superiority is more establishment globalism than pro-white. Still they have some good articles. Since the New York Times won’t let me on for free, we cite the AR article about the latest, and probably last fad gripping the elites: mass immigration from Africa;

“The New York Times published two articles last week on African immigrants. Their message to whites: embrace the new arrivals or you’re bigots. The first, written by Astead Herndon, was about St. Cloud, Minnesota, and its “white identity politics.” St. Cloud has taken in many East African refugees … The city—current population 70,000—was 2 percent non-white 30 years ago, but mostly due to refugees, it is now 18 percent non-white. Residents want their representatives to stop the flow, but the New York Times calls them “anti-Muslim,” “xenophobic,” and “white, anti-immigration activists,” and dismisses fears of a “cultural threat.” Even though Mr. Herndon is writing about non-whites replacing whites, he calls “white replacement” a “racist conspiracy theory tied to the declining birthrates of white Americans.” The opening paragraph claims St. Cloud has had only a “few thousand” migrants, but the real figure is closer to 12,000. Mr. Herndon mentions crime and notes a … migrant stabbed 10 people at a St. Cloud mall in 2016, but claims “there is no demonstrated link between immigrants and criminal behavior.” He also portrays concerned citizens as cranks: John Palmer, a retired university professor, gets a “daily intake of news from xenophobic and conspiratorial sites.” He gets the brushoff for suggesting the new migrants are less intelligent than native Americans. Another concerned citizen, Bob Carrillo, put a picture of his white grandchildren on the coffee table when Mr. Herndon interviewed him. The reporter claims that this is “meant to amplify the emotional impact of his xenophobic thesis: that Muslims pose an existential threat to the safety of his family.”

One person was punished for a sensible comment to The New York Times. Kim Crockett, vice president of the conservative Minnesota think-tank Center of the American Experiment, was quoted as saying, “I think of America, the great assimilator, as a rubber band, but with this—we’re at the breaking point . . . . These aren’t people coming from Norway, let’s put it that way. These people are very visible.” Her think-tank suspended her and forced her to apologize for stating the obvious. A few days later, the Times covered African migrants coming to Portland, Maine, a city about the same size as St. Cloud. Unlike St. Cloud, most residents are said to be happy with the new arrivals. The Times claimed in the headline that Portland needs new people and that Africans are the answer. However, the subhead hints otherwise: “The surge has opened a debate in the city, which needs new residents but also has filled its shelters.” The article says the Africans have swamped the city’s municipal fund and its homeless shelters, but reports happily that Mayor Ethan Strimling thinks African immigration will solve Portland’s population problem: “[W]hy would we want to stop that, especially when it costs us so little money?” Mayor Strimling said he was glad to hear it when President Trump said he might send detained illegals to sanctuary cities. The only official worried about costs is city manager Jon Jennings. He says Portland is relying on outside donations to manage the influx and is running out of shelter space. He wants to cut the funding that attracts asylum seekers. Portland promotes itself as the one American city that offers welfare to migrants who don’t yet have asylum status (ordinarily they’re not eligible for welfare). This reckless policy leaves Portland short of cash for its own needs.

But the word is out on Portland’s open-handed policy, and foreigners keep coming; 250 showed up in just one week in June. The Times sees this as a temporary challenge that will ultimately benefit Portland, but the article says nothing about whether the newcomers work or are even looking for jobs. Both articles paint a rosy picture of Africans; the problem is the natives. In Minnesota, it’s white xenophobes. In Maine, it’s a lack of funding. Both can be overcome if Americans commit to multiculturalism. … USA Today named St. Cloud the worst Minnesota city in 2018. It has the highest poverty rate, highest unemployment rate, and a crime rate 63 percent higher than the national average. More than half of St. Cloud’s blacks and nearly 42 percent of its foreign-born are poor. Retired Professor Palmer presented a report at a 2018 town hall meeting that showed Somalis have a higher rate of poverty, higher unemployment, lower median income, and a lower percentage looking for work than native Minnesotans. He argued the [migrants] cause white flight, which explains why St. Cloud is the only Minnesota city with a declining population. Maine has similar problems. Portland is begging for the rest of the state to cover the costs of housing hundreds of foreigners. Welfare for non-citizens costs the city $2 million a year, and Africans just keep coming. Maine’s House voted earlier this month to let non-citizens get food stamps and other welfare. Former Maine governor Paul LePage said in 2017 that asylum seekers were the state’s “biggest problem” because they strain resources and deal drugs. Lewiston, Maine, was flooded with African migrants in the early 2000s because of its generous welfare. The town voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump in 2016, and is worried it may have to take in Portland’s overflow. For the liberals who write for the Times, it’s Americans who are the problem. Young Africans are the future and old white guys are the past. But any talk about “replacement” is a “racist conspiracy theory.”

     What needs to be said is that Africa is undergoing a population explosion, the likes of which the world has never seen, and will never again see:

“If current projections hold, the population of sub-Saharan Africa will increase during this century to more than 4 billion people. This would be an 18-fold increase in 150 years. A 2017 Pew Research poll asked Africans if they wanted to emigrate. Three-quarters of people in Ghana, almost as many in Nigeria, and more than half in South Africa—black Africa’s most developed economy—said yes. Since 2010, sub-Saharan African countries have accounted for eight of the 10 fastest growing migrant populations. About 25 million black migrants lived outside their own countries in 2017. Blacks will swallow up Europe and North America … Bill Gates is aware of this population trend. “By the end of the century, almost half the young people in the world will be in sub-Saharan Africa,” he said in a recent video. The Gates Foundation already spends half its money on Africa, splashing out for medicine, education, and economic development. What does Mr. Gates expect in return? These young people can be a huge asset if they’re healthy and educated. They drive economic growth, they drive innovation. So it’s a challenge to the world to take advantage of investing in youth. Improving their health and education really pays off. How can Mr. Gates believe this? He is not completely immune to the facts. “To put it bluntly, decades of progress in the fight against poverty and disease may be on the verge of stalling,” Mr. Gates noted in 2018. “Africa must almost quadruple its agricultural productivity to feed itself,” he said in another interview. “That’s very daunting.”

Mr. Gates has repeatedly called for more birth control in Africa but also funds programs that increase population and decrease mortality. His efforts create an eternally increasing African population that needs ever-more Western aid and technology to stay alive. This burgeoning population also floods into the West, where Africans become domestic dependents. This reduces the West’s capacity to nursemaid the Dark Continent. Mr. Gates seems to sense all this, but is paralyzed by political correctness. Why call desperately for birth control if African youngsters are going to bring economic growth? Perhaps it’s because Mr. Gates has heard something about IQ. “The average IQ in sub-Saharan Africa is about 82,” he said in 2013. However, he declared that it has “nothing to do with genetics or race or anything like that—that’s disease and that’s what disease does to you . . . .” Mr. Gates prizes intelligence. According to a conversation recounted by Rich Karlgaard, Mr. Gates said of success in business: “It’s all about IQ. You win with IQ.” Microsoft was famous for creating tests to try to measure the intelligence of job applicants. But the Gates Foundation can’t raise test scores in America, let alone Africa. It recently admitted its $575 million initiative to transform teacher evaluation, compensation, and employment practices, especially in low-income minority schools, was a complete failure. It may have even made things worse. How does Bill Gates expect to transform sub-Saharan Africans? Recently, Mr. Gates said that “intelligence takes many different reforms” and is “not as important as I used to think.” Perhaps he’s trying to avoid the political landmines in wait for anyone who talks about intelligence. Bill Gates is not alone among billionaires who amassed fortunes through ambition and intelligence but now seem determined to squander money in the name of egalitarianism. Mark Zuckerberg wasted $100 million dollars trying to improve the public schools of Newark, New Jersey. … Mark Zuckerberg didn’t even get credit for his virtue signaling.

Michael Bloomberg made his fortune by selling a specialized information service for securities traders. It was for high-IQ people who can’t make excuses for failure. Yet Mr. Bloomberg recently donated $1.8 billion to his alma mater Johns Hopkins University to foster a more “socioeconomically diverse student body.” No one criticized Mr. Bloomberg for wasting money on “diversity” rather than funding science or health research. He took heat because he didn’t give the $1.8 billion to local community colleges. The Western elite are not fools. Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Michael Bloomberg are very intelligent and don’t believe in “equality” when it comes to recruiting employees. Yet in philanthropy, they have forfeited their judgment to race-baiters and egalitarian propogandists. At best, they are wasting their money. More realistically, they are making the world worse. In the face of a soaring African population, only clear thinking about race can forestall disaster. Sentimentality about the supposed potential of an African planet is dangerous foolishness. The West needs an elite that puts its resources behind excellence, rather than equality. Such an elite requires men not just with intellect, but courage. Are there such men? The future of our civilization—and the world—depends on the answer.”

     In summary, the entire world wants to migrate to the West, even though the West is intrinsically racist and evil, evil, evil. Still, it has a lot of good stuff, for the entire world to consume to the end. While Western academics are too insane to see where all of this is leading, even the Dalai Lama, my favourite kind of lama, sees doomsday rapidly approaching:

“The Dalai Lama has warned that Europe could become 'Muslim or African' if refugees who have been taken in are not then sent back to their home countries. The Buddhist spiritual leader, who has been living as a refugee in India since fleeing Tibet in 1959, said only a 'limited number' of migrants should be allowed to remain. During an interview with the BBC, the Dalai Lama added that refugees who have fled to Europe should be given skills before being returned. He said Europe was under an obligation to take in those who needed help, but ultimately they should be returned to their homelands. The 83-year-old said: 'European countries should take these refugees and give them education and training, and the aim is - return to their own land with certain skills.' When asked what should happen to those who want to stay in their adopted countries, he replied: 'A limited number is OK. But the whole of Europe [will] eventually become Muslim country - impossible. Or African country, also impossible.' The interviewer asked about his own refugee status, the Dalai Lama repeated his previous claims that 'Europe is for Europeans'. He added: 'They themselves, I think [are] better in their own land. Better [to] keep Europe for Europeans.' It is not the first time the monk has made such comments. In a speech last year in Malmo, Sweden, the Tibetan Buddhist said refugees should return to help rebuilt their own countries. He said: 'Receive them [migrants], help them, educate them, but ultimately they should develop their own country. I think Europe belongs to the Europeans.' Last September when he made a similar comments after being asked about refugees during his public talk in Rotterdam, the Dalai Lama issued a statement in response. He said: 'When refugees from other countries have come to Europe, it's wonderful that Germany and other European countries have given them help.”

     The elites need to seriously think about where this will go in the long term, once various groups with an apocalyptic leaning gain control of nuclear weapons. There are enough nuclear weapons in Europe once let off, to make the world a radioactive wasteland for them. I hope that these higher beings enjoy the world that they are about to create, lingering in their bunkers thinking about how high their IQs are.
