The Diversity Cult is Eroding Western Civilization: IQ, Crime, Innovation, and the Costs of Unchecked Migration
Western elites have turned "diversity" into a near-sacred principle, insisting that more demographic variety, regardless of source, compatibility, or outcomes, strengthens societies. Yet mounting evidence from IQ distributions, crime patterns, innovation metrics like Nobel Prizes, and real-world migration impacts tells a different story. Rather than enrichment, large-scale immigration from regions with markedly lower average cognitive profiles, weaker institutional values, and higher crime propensities, is accelerating cultural and civilisational decline. Like water seeking its lowest level, unprotected high-trust, high-achievement societies risk equilibrating downward when foundational elements are diluted without selection or assimilation.
Consider several seemingly disconnected facts that together paint a coherent picture. Whites comprise roughly 8% of the global population (down from about 25% in the 19th century). Average national IQ scores vary significantly: East Asian nations like Hong Kong top charts around 107–108, while many sub-Saharan African countries hover in the low 80s or below. The United States, with its diversity, sits around 101. These patterns are not mere curiosities; national IQ correlates strongly with economic prosperity, institutional quality, and innovation capacity.
Crime data reinforces the concern. In Denmark, immigrants from certain Middle Eastern and African nations show dramatically elevated rates compared to native Danes. Such disparities are not unique to Scandinavia; parallel patterns appear across Europe in no-go zones, grooming scandals, and everyday street crime, straining policing resources already burdened by two-tier dynamics.
Innovation tells the same tale through Nobel Prizes. Since 1901, the overwhelming majority, roughly 85%, have gone to white males from Western nations. The United States leads with over 400, the UK with more than 100. Among top countries, only Japan (non-Western) ranks highly. East Asians excel in average IQ but lag in the groundbreaking creative breakthroughs captured by Nobels, (white IQ is skewed to the right of the normal distribution curve), while contributions from other regions remain minimal. Western civilisation's historic edge stems from unique cultural, philosophical, and institutional foundations: scientific method, rule of law, individualism: built primarily by Europeans and their descendants.
Despite these realities, Western leaders have flung open borders to populations from low-IQ, high-fertility, low-trust regions that do not share, and often actively oppose, core Western values. The result is predictable: overwhelmed welfare systems (with high immigrant dependency rates in the US and Europe), strained infrastructure, rising crime, and cultural fragmentation. Churches burn, women and children face heightened risks, and trust erodes as high-trust societies import those accustomed to lower-trust environments.
The diversity cult insists this is moral progress and economic necessity. Critics are smeared as racists, even as data on group differences in outcomes persist across generations. High-IQ selective programs like H-1B visas highlight another distortion: corporate preferences for cheaper labour over native workers, while mass low-skilled inflows continue. East Asian success in IQ and manufacturing does not automatically translate to the Nobel-level creativity that powered the Industrial Revolution and modern prosperity. Importing the world's problems does not solve them; it transplants them.
Australia faces parallel pressures. High migration fuels housing crises and infrastructure strain, while business complaints about skilled visa delays for productive tradespeople expose perverse priorities. Public sentiment favours controlled, selective intake aligned with national needs and integration capacity. Yet elite consensus pushes onward, treating demographic transformation as inevitable and beneficial despite visible costs to social cohesion.
Unprotected cultures flow toward the lowest common denominator. Western civilisation delivered unprecedented advances: automobiles, computers, modern medicine, rule of law, that the world envies and migrates toward. Yet importing millions who bring incompatible values risks reversing those gains. The alternative is not isolation or ethnic purity, but prudent policy: prioritising high-skill, culturally compatible migrants who assimilate, enforcing borders, and exporting Western institutional successes (education, capitalism, individual rights) rather than importing failure.
The diversity cult, pursued without realism about human differences in ability, behaviour, and values, is not strengthening the West, it is dismantling it. Restoring civilisational confidence requires rejecting ideological dogma in favour of evidence: select for success, protect what works, and reject the notion that all groups are interchangeable. Failure to do so invites the equilibrium many fear: a decline toward the very conditions people flee. Renewal demands courage to confront uncomfortable data and prioritise the preservation of what made the West exceptional.
