The Australian Government is Ignoring the Vax Injured By Brian Simpson

Liberal MP Russell Broadbent has taken a stand on the shocking disregard that the Australian government has of the vaccine injured. Recall that the government, which granted a full exemption of liability to its master, Big Pharma, for the Covid vaxxes, assured us that the Covid vaxxes were “lifesaving,” as one state premier called them. And, naturally they said, the vaxxes were safe, and injuries, exceedingly rare, they added. This has proven not to be true, and regardless of this, the vaccine compensation scheme has been set up with stringent criteria, such as a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine, meet the definition of harm, have been admitted to hospital and incurred losses of $1000 or more from the injury. No doubt, this is done to keep the numbers down, so people are intimidated, and hopefully go fall into a hole. Thus, it is fortunate that there is at least some political support for those who are now not being heard by a government that has in the mRNA ear plugs of Big Pharma.

The possibility of a mass tort suit against the government needs careful legal consideration.

“A veteran Liberal MP has begun advocating for COVID-19 vaccine injury victims who claim they have been ignored and abandoned by a bungled Australian Government compensation scheme.

Thousands of Australians suffering from COVID-19 vaccine injury feel they are “not being heard” or treated fairly by the government.

Veteran Liberal MP Russell Broadbent has taken up the case of the thousands of Australians who have experienced an adverse reaction after getting the COVID-19 jab.

He’s met with a number of vaccine injury victims in person, in the hopes he can encourage a better response from the government.

“It’s very distressing to have these people face-to-face and be speaking to them when you see some of them are so severely damaged,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

The long-serving member for Monash said he had met with Jacob, a “tough as nails” former fencing contractor who had been forced into truck-driving after a debilitating vaccine injury.

“Every one of these vaccine injuries were strong, healthy, well men and women before they took the vaccine,” Mr Broadbent said.

Former AMA president Kerryn Phelps is one of many Australians speaking out about vaccine injury in an attempt to ignite a conversation about the vaccine program and response.

Dr Phelps penned a lengthy submission to a parliamentary inquiry into long Covid last year, revealing she and her wife had both been injured after receiving Pfizer jabs.

“Without acknowledgment and recognition of post-vaccination syndrome or vaccine injury, there can be no progress in developing protocols for diagnosis and treatment and it is difficult to be included in research projects or treatment programs," she wrote in the submission.

“It has also meant a long and frustrating search for acknowledgment and an attempt at treatment for many individual patients.”

The former MP for Wentworth is a strong supporter of vaccination and has been publicly supportive of a high vaccine uptake.

Launched in December 2021 by the previous government, the COVID-19 vaccine claims system was designed to compensate Australians who had suffered a “moderate to severe impact” following inoculation.

Under the scheme, claimants are able to receive a one-off compensation payment for costs between $1000 - $19,999.99.

There is a lengthy set of criteria to meet the scheme’s eligibility requirements on the Services Australia website; claimants must have received a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine, meet the definition of harm, have been admitted to hospital and incurred losses of $1000 or more as a result.

Applications are also dependent on a doctor’s report, but many GPs face deregistration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency threatening doctors who promote supposedly “anti-vaccination” claims.

That designation is not clearly defined by AHPRA leaving doctors such as Dr Phelps to complain it has led to the censorship of “public discussion about adverse events following immunisation”.

“Vaccine injury is a subject that few in the medical profession have wanted to talk about,” Dr Phelps wrote in a submission to the Long Covid inquiry.

“Regulators of the medical profession have censored public discussion about adverse events following immunisation, with threats to doctors not to make any public statements about anything that ‘might undermine the government’s vaccine rollout’ or risk suspension or loss of their registration."

Those eligible can receive money from the federal government for lost earnings, out of pocket expenses and attendant care, amongst others.

However, many complainants claim the requirements are too broad and ill-considered to adequately represent the scope of potential health problems associated with vaccines.

Since the compensation scheme was established there have been more than 3,200 claims with only three per cent or just 109 being approved.

More than 2,480 are still under review while, 383 have been refused and 232 withdrawn.

The restrictive program has also come under fire from those who claim they “have not received the most basic recognition” from the government.

COVERSE, a non-profit Australian organisation co-founded by Jackie-Stricker-Phelps the wife of Dr Phelps, has written to all MPs and Senators demanding greater recognition and improved compensation.”
