Strategies for Defeating the Voice Referendum By Ken Grundy

Some may have already seen the attachment but I am giving it wider circulation due to its importance.

Defeating the Voice referendum is very important requiring an all-out effort and the material attached provides very useful ammunition.

Don’t be complacent about the polls showing a decline in support for the YES case.  It may be to cause us to relax.  In any case with the corporate world and its financial support we can expect a big drive to vote YES as the referendum draws nearer.

Individual initiative as to how we promote the NO case will be the best policy.  Just keep it all peaceful.

Suggested means include the use of social media like Facebook where special groups can be targeted (like age groups or geographic locations etc).

Signage.  Recently in Victoria people made numerous signs which were erected on a wire spike around town square lawns.  The Council collected them but at least they had a life which created a talking point.

Other signs were erected on roadsides which again may have a limited life.

However, there is nothing to stop you putting a sign on your own property.  Just inside your fence for houses or farms is OK.

Letter boxing may suit some but from experience, many do not clear their box these days.  Still try it, if you like it.

Write to local papers.  Keep it brief and to the point.  Support other letters printed.  Call the editor and show appreciation.

Talk-back radio reaches a wide audience and you can treat it with support as for the papers.  Even developing our own community radio is a possibility.

If none of the above suits you, perhaps support the large campaigns with a few dollars.  The most recent video showing a person with some aboriginality, boldly declaring just what a YES victory will deliver is so bad, it will be a great tool for the NO case.
