This is significant. The Solomon Islands is moving into the CCP orbit, and has now suspended all US naval visits, no doubt under orders from their new CCP masters. Oh well, when China war takes place they can’t say they did not pick a side. And, as far as I could work out, the Solomon Islands have no standing army or navy, let alone air force.

“The Solomon Islands has issued a moratorium on all nations requesting to send in naval ships while it works on new processes for military vessels entering port.

The announcement from Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare comes after it was revealed the US had been issued with a notice of the moratorium.

"On August 29, the United States received formal notification from the government of Solomon Islands regarding a moratorium on all naval visits, pending updates in protocol procedures," the US embassy in Canberra said in a statement on Tuesday.

Ahead of Mr Sogavare's "clarification", Reuters said a spokesman for Solomon Islands prime minister had earlier denied the reports of a moratorium.

It follows Honiara failing to respond to a request for a US Coast Guard ship to dock and refuel on Friday.

The ship diverted to Papua New Guinea.”
