Shocking Australian Racism Against International Medical Graduates; Eternal Shame? By James Reed
Oh, I suppose we should feel eternally guilty if the claims of “racism” are “true” about Australia’s reaction to international medical graduates? Remember, unless they are infinitely happy, it is “racism” and whites must fall to the ground, kicking and flailing, crying, begging for relief from the utter guilt of whiteness. After all, it took decades of brainwashing to get to this state of ethno-masochism. Well, I for one am tired of the whole white guilt trip, and just don’t care. If they do not want to come, fine. End of story. I. Just. Don’t. Care. Anymore. Exhausted.
“A British doctor has accused Australians of being racist and looking down on international medical graduates.
Dr Salim Uddin had opened up on his experiences studying to be a medical professional and revealed he has made plans to travel to Melbourne.
'It's not the land of the rising sun and golden rainbows and springs and clearwater,' he told medical podcast Strive Med.
'The Aussies are quite racist, this is just a fact. They're not so IMG friendly.'
'IMG' is an abbreviation for international medical graduate and refers to a doctor who has graduated at a school outside of the country they intend to work in.
'Unless you're in a big city, a metropolitan city, and you're not white.
'If you're more on the browner end of life the Aussies can be quite mean, especially if you're Asian'.
Dr Uddin said racism was just the 'tip of the iceberg' and that one of his biggest problems was obtaining a visa.
'That's what I found was very hard,' he said. 'And actually, I now recommend to any F1 or F2, do not go to Australia.'
F1 and F2 refer to doctors undertaking a two-year postgraduate medical training program known as the Foundation Program.
Doctors are required to complete the course so they can make the transition from medical school to specialist and general practice.
'I am now seven months into my application, I am still in my first stage. If I don't get my visa by February, I won't be able to do my work there.'
Dr Uddin admitted the work conditions and pay was much better in Australia with the salary triple what he would be earning in the United Kingdom.
The average salary for a doctor in Australia is around $160,000 or $128,000 for entry level jobs.”
Doctors are vastly overpaid in my opinion, and after the Covid freak-out, perhaps we would be better off with less of them anyway:
