     Well, here is one of those delightful stories in the land of political correctness as the usually pc J K Rowling makes some Tweets saying that, well, there are biologically based sexual differences, Oh, chaos:

“Many people are calling out “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling for a series of anti-trans tweets on Saturday afternoon. Rowling’s latest controversy began when she commented on an article from Devex, a media platform for the global development community, titled “Opinion: Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate.” “‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?” Rowling tweeted. People on Twitter immediately called Rowling’s comments “anti-trans” and “transphobic” as transgender people, non-binary people and gender-nonconforming people can also menstruate. Rowling followed that tweet up by criticizing the idea that someone’s biological sense isn’t real. “If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth,” she wrote. “The idea that women like me, who’ve been empathetic to trans people for decades, feeling kinship because they’re vulnerable in the same way as women — ie, to male violence – ‘hate’ trans people because they think sex is real and has lived consequences — is a nonsense.”

     This outraged Hairy Potter himself, who took time out from casting spells to lash pout at J. K:

“Radcliffe, who rose to fame after playing the schoolboy wizard Harry in the blockbuster adaptations of the beloved book series, commented on the controversy on Monday, saying “transgender women are women”. In a a statement through the LGBT suicide prevention charity the Trevor Project, Radcliffe said that while Rowling “is unquestionably responsible for the course my life has taken ... as a human being, I feel compelled to say something at this moment”. Writing that the issue is not about “in-fighting between JK Rowling and myself”, he added: “Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I.” The 30-year-old then cited statistics from the Trevor Project that found 78% of transgender and non-binary youth reported being the subject of discrimination due to their gender identity. He said: “It’s clear that we need to do more to support transgender and non-binary people, not invalidate their identities, and not cause further harm.” Radcliffe addressed fans on social media who said they could no longer enjoy the Harry Potter series due to their disagreement with Rowling. “To all the people who now feel that their experience of the books has been tarnished or diminished, I am deeply sorry for the pain these comments have caused you,” he said.

     J.K then went on to say that she is a victim too, but that went nowhere:

     And so, it goes on, in this insane asylum of the modern world. We should sit back and enjoy these little battles, as it shows the deep inconsistencies in our opponent’s positions. Soon, it shall all fall apart, and it is happening now at an accelerating pace.

“Natalie Portman has said she supports the Defund The Police movement after admitting she was initially fearful of it because of her 'white privilege'. She took to Instagram on Monday, sharing resources that explain the movement in detail following the death of George Floyd at the hands of police on May 25. The 38-year-old said: 'My whole life, police have made me feel safe. But that's exactly the center of my white privilege. 'The police make me as a white woman feel safe, while my black friends, family and neighbors feel the opposite: police make them feel terror.'” 

     But, will she have a private security force to protect her pile of wealth from rampaging looters when the police are wound down, or will she simply give up her wealth and white privilege? It will be interesting to see, because talk is cheap now, while things are still somewhat safe, and moral virtue signalling is easy. Not so easy when one’s house is on fire, and/or bullets zip around the kitchen.
