Restoration through Catastrophe By James Reed
While seeking an update on the geo-political situation I came across an intriguing little piece tucked away on ZeroHedge, the financial blog with an apocalyptic flavour to it. The article simply elaborated upon a quote from Frederic Bastiat, from two centuries ago: "When misguided public opinion honors what is despicable and despises what is honorable, punishes virtue and rewards vice, encourages what is harmful and discourages what is useful, applauds falsehood and smothers truth under indifference or insult, a nation turns its back on progress and can be restored only by the terrible lessons of catastrophe."
The issue is that at some point things become so bad, and so corrupt, that systems, even civilisations, fall apart from their own internal rottenness. It needs to be taken on board that Western civilisation is at present under the yoke of woke Leftist globalism and the culture of neo-Marxism, which has as its mode of operation the complete and utter undermining of traditional values and institutions. One need only reflect on what has been done on, say, the gender issue to see that the aim of the enemy is our total destruction and replacement.
"Even though Frederic Bastiat lived two centuries ago, his wisdom echoes across the ages. His quote below is proof human nature never changes, despite technological advancement. He captures in one sentence the current state of affairs in the U.S. and most of western civilization.

There is no voting ourselves out of this. Those manipulating the minds of the masses through mass media propaganda, government school indoctrination, and complete control of the narratives spun by those who want to destroy our nation, have convinced the masses wrong is right, abnormal is normal, deviant is ordinary, lies are truth, slavery is freedom, ignorance is understanding, dependence is liberty, government is here to help, and thinking for yourself is dangerous.
I don't fit into this world and I don't want to fit into this world. I do believe we are headed for a myriad of simultaneous catastrophes, and after we allowed our government, media, culture, and society to be hijacked by evil men with evil intent, we deserve what is coming. We've turned our back on the country we were given by our founders, and the community standards required to maintain that country. You ultimately reap what you sow and we will eventually sit down to a banquet of consequences. I don't know when, but I sense it won't be long. Batten down the hatches."
