Project Veritas Fights Back! By Chris Knight (Florida)

Project Veritas has got up the nose of the Biden regime with its exposures, and has had its share of federal agency oppression. Now this watch dog is fighting back as any healthy “dog’ must do, and is letting the legal hounds lose, which is a mighty fine thing to do, for litigation is what made America, once great. Just kidding.

“After all that we’ve seen take place in the news this week, Project Veritas decided that enough is enough.

The fearless Project Veritas Legal Team has just sent a letter to the United States Attorney General, Merrick Garland, demanding an IMMEDIATE END to the Justice Department’s political targeting and persecution of journalists.

Here is part of what was said in the letter:

Dear Attorney General Garland:

We represent investigative journalist James O’Keefe and the not-for-profit news media company Project Veritas in defense of your Justice Department’s protracted attack on them.

You and I both know that if the New York Times gained possession of the diary of former President Trump’s adult daughter, it would have published it page-by-page for weeks on end, selectively editing the content to publish the most salacious entries in the diary, without regard to the harm it would have done to the person in question.

Mr. O’Keefe and Project Veritas took an additional step that further affirmed their responsible journalism. Through an attorney, the journalists turned Ms. [Ashley] Biden’s diary and personal effects into local law enforcement in the jurisdiction in which the source had indicated the items were found.

The facts and law here lead to the inescapable conclusion that your prosecutors in the Southern District of New York have engaged in an unprecedented and politically motivated attack on the free press, without factual or legal justification, and in violation of DOJ’s regulations, guidelines, and your pronouncements.

How on earth can you allow the attack on Project Veritas and its journalists to continue, and avoid being fairly tagged as a partisan, political hypocrite who wields your power in defense of an adult child of the President? There appears to be no adult supervision in the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York. It is for you to decide whether to allow your prosecutors to continue to set dangerous precedent, gut First Amendment protections, and facilitate the decline of a free and independent press, or to put your money where your mouth is, demonstrate that your memorandum was not a petty political ploy aimed at the prior administration, and terminate this abhorrent action that threatens a free and independent press.

“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) announced on Friday that she filed articles of impeachment against U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. The Republican representative for Georgia claimed that Garland helped facilitate a "political persecution" of former President Donald Trump.

Garland drew the ire of Garland after the FBI raid of Trump's residence at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. Taylor accused Garland of not "faithfully" executing the office of the attorney general's promise to "preserve, protect and defend" the United States Constitution.

Taylor told reporters outside the Capitol building, "What they've been doing to [former] President Trump is political persecution."

"Merrick Garland has abused his position of power as the attorney general to politically persecute Joe Biden's enemies," she added. "And the whole purpose of this is to prevent President Trump from ever being able to hold office."

"I'm introducing articles of impeachment on Merrick Garland," Taylor proclaimed. "Because we cannot tolerate this in America, where our great institutions are welded and abused in such a way to impeach people's political enemies."

Taylor's articles of impeachment accused the attorney general of "endangering, compromising, and undermining the justice system of the United States by facilitating the persecution" of President Joe Biden's political rival – Donald Trump.

"Personal approval to seek a search warrant for the raid on the home of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, constitutes a blatant attempt to persecute a political opponent," the document read.

Taylor's resolution claimed that Garland's "effort to unseal the search warrant for the home of former President Donald J. Trump constitutes an attempt to intimidate, harass, and potentially disqualify a political challenger to President Joseph R. Biden, Jr."

Articles of impeachment against Garland are unlikely to pass in Congress since Democrats have a majority, and because it is unknown how many Republicans would support such a move. A two-thirds majority is needed for conviction.

Garland said on Thursday that he "personally approved" the FBI raid of Trump's residence.

"Faithful adherence to the rule of law is the bedrock principle of the Justice Department and of our democracy," Garland said. "Upholding the rule of law means applying the law evenly, without fear or favor."

Other prominent Republicans, including Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and Josh Hawley of Missouri, have suggested that Garland's actions could merit impeachment.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) accused the Department of Justice of reaching an "intolerable state of weaponized politicization." McCarthy also promised an investigation into the DOJ if the Republicans retake the House after the 2022 midterm elections.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago is "another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime's political opponents."

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) declared, "Using government power to persecute political opponents is something we have seen many times from 3rd world Marxist dictatorships. But never before in America."

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) said, "In third world countries and banana republics they prosecute the former presidents/leaders and their staff. Right now, we look beneath them. We are in a race to the bottom."
