No Shortage of Traitors in Australia: Leith van Onselen, By James Reed
Leith van Onselen writes that there is an oversupply of political traitors in Australia. The article is behind a paywall with only a hint of the line he will take. But the very idea of an oversupply of political traitors really hits the mark. I think this can define much of Australia's political history, where local elites sell out the country for their own profit. Prime ministers once retired, work in business deals with countries like communist China, and openly defend Chinese interests. And even most still sitting in parliament, while perhaps not in on the business deals, still act much like good communist Chinese citizens.
Could they do the people here a favour, and not go back to the country they came from, since they are locally hatched, but just leave? Take their thirty (thousand) pieces of silver, and just, go!

"Two years ago, I attacked then-immigration minister Andrew Giles for headlining a private Victorian Labor Party fundraising dinner organised by controversial Labor figure Jasvinder Sidhu.
It was alleged that Indian migration agents paid $1,000 to attend the dinner to "buy" access to Giles and raised concerns with him about visa policies and other immigration-related issues.
