Legislation Prepared for the US to Withdraw from the United Nations! By Chris Knight (Florida)

Republican lawmakers have initiated a Bill to withdraw the US from the United Nations, Disengaging Entirely From the United Nations Debacle Act of 2025, citing concerns that the organization does not align with American interests, enabling "tyrants, betraying allies, and spreading bigotry," said Sen. Mike Lee. Most importantly the UN is striving to be the seat of world government, and thus is a threat to national sovereignty across the West, having already done immense damage:

"Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) has introduced the "Disengaging Entirely From the United Nations Debacle Act of 2025," which aims to terminate U.S. membership and funding to the U.N. and its affiliated bodies. The press release states, "this legislation addresses grave issues of national sovereignty and fiscal accountability which have plagued US involvement in the UN."

"No more blank checks for the United Nations. Americans' hard-earned dollars have been funneled into initiatives that fly in the face of our values, enabling tyrants, betraying allies, and spreading bigotry," said Sen. Mike Lee, adding that "if we engage with the UN in the future, it will be on our terms, with the full backing of the Senate and an iron-clad escape clause."

Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) is co-sponsoring the bill in the Senate, while Representative Chip Roy (R-Texas) is planning to introduce a similar measure in the House.

The lawmakers argue that the U.N. has become a platform for criticizing the U.S. and its allies. In a statement to Fox News Digital, Lee argued that "The United Nations has devolved into a platform for tyrants and a venue to attack America and her allies," adding "We should stop paying for it. As President Trump revolutionizes our foreign policy by putting America first, we should withdraw from this sham organization and prioritize real alliances that keep our country safe and prosperous."

The U.S. is the largest financial contributor to the U.N., providing over $18 billion in 2022, which constitutes approximately one-third of the U.N.'s entire collective budget.

Roy called out the U.N. for enjoying Americans tax money while "undermining our interests, attacking our allies and bolstering our adversaries."

"What has the United Nations achieved?" Roy said. "Despite all of the money and the attention, this corrupt globalist organization has, for decades, failed to prevent wars, genocides, human rights violations and even pandemics."

Specific criticism has been directed towards organizations like the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which has been scrutinized over its connection to the Hamas terrorist group as it was revealed that some employees may have been involved in the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, which led the U.S. to temporarily halt funding in January 2024.

Among other critiques of the UN is its clear anti-Israel stance, for which it received pushback from some Democrats as well.

Several other Republican representatives co-sponsored the legislation, according to Fox News, including Republican Reps. Mike Rogers of Alabama, Eli Crane of Arizona, Diana Harshbarger of Tennessee, Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, Harriet Hageman of Wyoming, Josh Brecheen of Oklahoma, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia.

The US pulling out of the UN will not totally destroy the UN, but will severely cripple it.
