Labor Hoisted by its Own Petard: Disinformation Campaign, By James Reed

The Australian Labor government, like the British Labour government, is big on censorship of free speech, which fits into their Leftist agenda of social control. It has always been the same with Leftism, which at its core is a violently oppressive world view masked under the robes of diversity, identity and equity (DIE).

Sometimes though, this is not without aspects of grim humour. Thus, federal Labor planned to counter so-called disinformation with a reporting register, to fact check material. Only problem here is that people submitted the bs produced by the Labor party. Nuclear campaigner Will Shackel had submitted one of the Labor Party's own ads to the big Brother register of an anti-nuclear advert, which they ran against Peter Dutton's proposed nuclear energy policies. The advert had the Sydney Opera with mushroom clouds behind it to produce the knee-jerk nuclear bomb fear. According to Shackel:

"For months they've spread blatant disinformation about nuclear energy and refused to take action against high profile Labor politicians who have done the same," he said.

"Whether it be falsely implying nuclear cooling towers emit smoke in mushroom clouds (rather than water vapour) … Dan Repacholi and Jacinta Allen posting images of 3 eyed fish or (Chris) Bowen using a photo of yellow barrels on grassy hills to depict nuclear waste storage."

This Labor propaganda will of course be given a free pass, as the only disinformation that the Leftist censors want to deal with is that from the Right about mass immigration, and other attacks upon globalism, and globalists.

"Labor's plan to combat disinformation with a new reporting register has spectacularly backfired after people started submitting the party's own advertisements to be fact-checked.

A page has appeared on the ALP's website encouraging party members and supporters to "report disinformation" via an online form to "fight lies and fake news".

The form requires users to submit their name, email address, the details of their complaint and what social media platform it involves.

The Australian Labor Party has launched a new portal for "disinformation reporting".

There's also a space to share links to the material and upload "evidence" to the site for review.

At this stage it remains unclear who has been tasked with reviewing the information submitted in the register and what action will be taken against anything they deem to be fake news.

It is also unclear whether the ALP's own campaign material will be fact checked if it is submitted to the site.

SkyNews.com.au has put these questions to the ALP but no response was received by time of publication.

Young nuclear campaigner Will Shackel revealed to his social media followers on Thursday he had reported one of Labor's own ads to the register.

"Labor has just created a website to report disinformation: Here's something that I just reported. The irony here is quite extreme," he wrote on X, alongside a screenshot of an anti-nuclear advert.

The Sydney Opera House can be seen in the foreground being towered over by two cooling towers with what appears to be mushroom clouds exploding from them.

"Peter Dutton wants to build nuclear power plants all over Australia. Join our fight to stop nuclear coming to you," the slogan read.

Cooling towers are used at some nuclear power stations as a way of ejecting heat from the plant and keep the equipment cool.

However, the white vapour seen wafting off the towers is water vapour, not smoke or mushroom clouds commonly associated with a nuclear explosion.

Another disputed element of the ad is the claim about where the Opposition is proposing nuclear plants be built, with Mr Dutton suggesting just seven sites for development as part of his plan announced in July.

None of these include the Sydney Opera House or general Sydney area.

According to data from Meta, the ad was viewed on a screen between 30,000 and 35,000 times and shown exclusively in New South Wales.

This ad was one of several posted in April and May, with iterations of the same anti-nuclear slogans slapped on pictures of well-known locations in New South Wales with a cooling tower lurking in the background.

Ads were created with the scenery of Newcastle, the Illawarra, various suburbs of Sydney and the South Coast.

Mr Shackel told SkyNews.com.au the ALP's website for reporting disinformation was "peak irony" from the party.
