Karen: Race Hate By James Reed
Hollywood has been conducting its own cultural war against conservative values for at least the post-world War II period, slowly working away to dismantle established values, as documented in the book, Hollywood versus America. Take the Western. High Noon is supposed to be a classic, but it has themes outrageous for Westerns of the 1950s, such as extra-marital relationships. Nothing like this in any John Wayne movie, but in the end that sort of Anglo-Western was eliminated, beginning with the Clint Eastwood spaghetti ones, which seem tame compared to the TV series that had Leftists hunting down Trump conservatives, I forget the name. Now there is Karen, to stir up more trouble. Clearly Whites need to not consume this muck. Vote with the wallet.
“The trailer for the new horror film Karen has just been released, in which a racist white woman terrorises her Black neighbours.
Tapping into the recent emergence of “Karen” as a shorthand to nod to a certain kind of entitled white woman, the film stars Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black) as Karen White, the woman ruining her neighbours’ life.
Karen was directed by Coke Daniels and also stars Cory Hardrict, Jasmine Burke, Roger Dorman and Gregory Alan.
A synopsis obtained by Deadline describes this film as following “Karen Drexler (Manning), a racist white woman who makes it her personal mission to displace the new Black family that has just moved in next door to her.
“Community activist Malik (Hardrict) and his wife Imani (Burke) are the couple who have just moved to the Atlanta suburb, but they won’t be backing down without a fight.”
“I felt a social responsibility to take on this role,” Manning told the publication. “Even if I had to play the villain to affect change around the globe, then I was more than willing to step into the role.
“What’s been going on is devastating. It’s time for change and for me to be a part of the bigger picture, meant a lot to me.”
Fans on Twitter have been mixed on the trailer so far, with one calling it “unbelievably cringe” and another saying the film must be “from SNL“, adding: “No way that’s a real movie.”
The entire plot is absurd, since it is most unlikely that a lone white woman could terrorise a group of neighbours; it would be hard for most whites to terrorise even a kennel of cats!
Hollywood is putting more drag in the lives of Americans by re-imagining classic TV shows like The Brady Bunch as drag queen comedies.
Paramount+ is set to stream the comedy special Dragging the Classics: The Brady Bunch starting Wednesday in what is expected to be the first in a planned series that will re-visit classic sitcoms with casts of vamping drag queens, according to a report in Variety.
The project is the latest drag-themed initiative from Hollywood. On Sunday, Disney+ will host a LGBTQ Pride concert starring drag queen Nina West, with performances of popular Disney songs that will reportedly be re-imagined with LGBTQ themes.
The Paramount+ show is a crossover between The Brady Bunch and VH1’s RuPaul’s Drag Race, featuring drag performers alongside original cast members in a re-telling of the season two episode “Will the Real Jan Brady Please Stand Up?” (Both shows are controlled by ViacomCBS.)
Drag queen Shea Couleé will play Marcia Brady, while Drag Race season six winner Bianca Del Rio will take the role of Carol Brady. Drag stars Ben DeLaCreme and Kylie Sonique Love will play Greg Brady and Jan Brady, respectively. RuPaul is also expected to put in a guest appearance.
Variety reported that the cast is looking for other classic sitcoms to receive the drag treatment.
Titles mentioned in a cast interview include The Golden Girls, Happy Days, Bewitched, Who’s the Boss, Laverne & Shirley, Married…with Children, Diff’rent Strokes, The Nanny, and Designing Women.”
It is all imploding.
