My guess is that the elites hope to go the full trans-human way, and upload their foul consciousnesses into “thinking machines,” so that they can be immortal, like super-heroes, and just let the planet burn. But, have they thought this through in enough detail? The drive for power over our fellow primates is based upon biological urges, and if these are removed, there will be nothing else but 01010101 of the computer realm. That is not the stuff for global domination. So, Dark Lords, unless you are totally suicidal, which is your human right of course, the whole scheme is going to be like the old exploding cigar.
