What Next? “Porn Literacy” Lessons in the Womb? by Mrs Vera West

Believe it or not “University of Melbourne Researchers Want Porn Literacy Lessons in Australian Primacy Schools” (http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/parenting/school-life/university-of-melbourne-researchers-want-porn-literacy-lessons-in-australian-primacy-schools/) The “reason” for this is that some children who sexually abused other children, did so when exposed to pornography. Thus, beginning at age 8, porn would be used to deconstruct porn, all done by professional teachers.

This is like arguing that because some children end up in fights with punches in the nose, it would be a good idea to deconstruct fights by having professional boxers punch them in the nose! You get the point.

Really, what is needed is a reduction in porn. The imagery is not needed, but older children could discuss the harm that it does to everybody, especially women. Political discussions which deconstruct the porn industry would be a good thing. But 8 year-old kids don’t need this and may be harmed by it.
