The Greenie Take on the Coronavirus By James Reed

     The present pandemic, for my two cents worth is bringing out the worst in the Left/Greens, and the technocrat state, if that is still possible. Thus, the Illinois mayor has signed an executive order giving herself powers dictators would envy:

“Champaign, Illinois mayor Deborah Frank Feinen signed an executive order giving herself the power to order the seizure of firearms, ammunition, alcohol and gasoline during the coronavirus pandemic. The executive order also enables the government to “take possession of private property” and cut off an individual’s access to gas, water or electricity. The city promised to “keep the public’s best interest in mind” while also handing itself the power to shut down all liquor stores and bars, although Gov. J.B. Pritzker has already ordered the shut down of all bars and schools across Illinois until March 30.”     Of course, now that the bans are in order, these will remain, until people go all-out in a political battle to remove them.”

     Moving right along, how are the Greens treating the pandemic panic? Why, to claim that it a fair and just punishment for climate change, I suppose. Or, that it is better that the human race to die off:

The presenter of the piece asserts that the planet is “practically healing itself” and that the virus is “fair” because “old people are piling up while the young survive effortlessly.” “That’s simply justice, because for the last 50 years the 65+ generation has driven the planet into a wall,” says the presenter. The fact that people with cardiovascular disease are also dying in greater numbers is also somehow a good thing because a lot of Americans have it and America is bad for encouraging financial growth. The piece also lauds the collapse of global air traffic and the reduction of air pollution in China, claiming this will lead to a “green paradise” and that there are “too many of us” anyway. “So the coronavirus is probably just a beautiful and sensible reflex of nature that shows humans who is actually in charge,” states the presenter before adding, “Corona is here, because we don’t deserve better.”

     Well, the Greens have bet on the wrong disease, since this one seems to be targeting a few old sick boomers, and not too many of them, or not enough, are dropping off the perch. Better luck next time, you green vegetables!
