More on 5 G and the Coronavirus: Burning Towers By Brian Simpson
It was not an April Fool’s joke: there is a countercultural belief that 5 G technology has caused the coronavirus pandemic. While it is true that there is an on-going debate about the effects of 5 G on human health, there is no evidence that 5 G has the same effects as seen by the coronavirus, although, if 5 G does impact upon human health, this will be one further factor lowering human immunity and health, this having an indirect impact. Anyway, some people are going over the top on this, literally burning down towers.
“Conspiracy nuts are reportedly setting phone masts alight and targeting engineers after a bizarre claim 5G "radiation" caused the deadly coronavirus spread. The theory originated last month after a video filmed at a US health conference claimed Africa was not as affected by the disease because it is "not a 5G region". The myth was quickly debunked after the World Health Organisation confirmed there were thousands of Covid-19 cases in Africa. The government has also confirmed there is "no evidence to suggest that 5G has anything to do with Covid-19". Celebs have been slammed for sharing the conspiracy theory, including Jason Gardiner and Callum Best, who posted similar claims that 5G can impact the immune system. But the claims have still been doing the rounds on WhatsApp via a lengthy voice note - with phone masts now being set alight in the UK. Engineers are now also being targeted with social media users encouraging each other to destroy the masts in a Stop 5G Facebook group.
Clearly, one of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic has been to make people crazy, or crazier than normal, if there is a normal anymore. Oddly enough, the coronavirus itself had some zombie apocalyptic effects:
“If you’ve seen the recent news about some coronavirus victims aggressively coughing on other people as a kind of assault, you know that something is very, very strange with this virus. Not only does it infect the nervous system and utterly destroy some people’s senses of smell and taste, we now know that it alters brain function by destroying brain tissue. And this leads certain people to exhibit rabies-like behavior, with aggressive attacks that actually spread the virus like something right out of a zombie movie. The UK Mirror is now reporting that doctors in Italy and China are documenting “neurological conditions” across coronavirus patients, including brain swelling and brain damage. “One man lost the ability to speak,” reports the Mirror: [A] woman in her 50s from Detroit has lost big chunks of brain cells, and similar central nervous problems have been reported in Italy and China. When the 58-year-old checked in she was confused and disoriented, as well as having many of the telltale symptoms of Covid-19. A CT scan of her brain was carried out which showed dark spots, indicating a fluid build up or substantial brain cell loss. The patient’s thalamus – crucial in sending sensory signals for processing – showed particular damage, while other scans showed brain lesions or bleeds in temporal lobes. Note the language: “Confused and disoriented,” and as you’ll see below, also sometimes violent. This it starting to sound like the aggressive, infectious zombies found in movies like I Am Legend, starring Will Smith.”
Nothing surprises me anymore, we may have a mild case of the zombie apocalypse on hand, where life becomes like a B-grade movie, especially when further social breakdown occurs.
