Kanye Defends the West By Charles Taylor

Black rapper Kanye West is causing the new class heart burn, first with his defence and support of President Donald Trump, for what that is worth, but also, now because as a Black he has dared to critique the official politically correct black armband view of American slavery:

“During a Tuesday interview with TMZ, Kanye West said, “When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice.” The blowback was immediate and Kanye is now trying to explain himself to those only interested in destroying him, even if it is with a “gotcha.” “When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice. Like, you were there for 400 years and it’s all of you all? Like, we’re mentally in prison,” West said, adding, “Like, slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks. So prison is something that unites us as one race, blacks and whites being one race. We’re the human race.”

I am not exactly sure what Mr West is arguing here, but his opponents have gone mad with anger, and now the Left and the “usual suspects” as the above Breitbart article calls them, are seeking to bring him down. That though is not going to look good, so we all wish Mr west luck and hope that he proves to be stronger than Trump. Maybe, just maybe, it is time for a Black president who thinks beyond identity politics and the culture of eternal white guilt.
