A Hole in Microsoft Lets the Chinese Hackers In By Brian Simpson

It is a pity Bill Gates did not spend more time getting his team to get the bugs out of Microsoft, instead of going on his global crusade, you know, poo in a jar, vaccines, all that biological stuff.  Well, at least he is not going up into space in a rocket, yet. If he does, will the computers run Microsoft?

“Tens of thousands of computers with a Microsoft software flaw were the targets of a cyberattack from China’s Ministry of Security. A senior Biden administration official told the Washington Times that China has attacked individuals from all over the world.

Now, the administration will join in a publicity campaign against Chinese cyberattacks. The European Union, Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan and the NATO alliance have also agreed to the campaign.

The US needs to go on a massive cyberattack offensive against China and Russia. Enough is enough. https://t.co/dPpUROsenv

“We will show how the … Ministry of State Security uses criminal contract hackers to conduct unsanctioned cyber operations globally, including for their own personal profit,” the senior official said. “Their operations include criminal activities, such as cyber-enabled extortion, crypto-jacking, and theft from victims around the world for financial gain.”

As a result, U.S. security agencies are banning together to publish a 31-page report on China’s recent cyberattacks and how to prevent them. The National Security Agency, Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are behind the report.

“MSS is using, knowledgeably, criminal contract hackers to conduct unsanctioned cyber operations globally,” the official said. “That is very much with the Ministry of State Security’s knowledge.”
