“Apple on Wednesday announced that it has uncovered serious security vulnerabilities in its iPhones, iPads and Macs, and recommended all users update their software to block potential intrusion.

The software flaws could potentially allow attackers to take complete control of these devices, Apple said in two security reports.

The company said it is 'aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.'

The two vulnerabilities were found in WebKit, the browser engine that powers Safari and other apps, and the kernel, essentially the core of the operating system. 

TechCrunch said the flaw means a hacker could gain full access to the device. 

Security experts have advised users to update affected devices - the iPhones 6S and later models; several models of the iPad, including the 5th generation and later, all iPad Pro models and the iPad Air 2; and Mac computers running MacOS Monterey.

The vulnerability also affects some iPod models.’

With all the money one pays for this gear, surely we should have been given better?

P.S later in the day, I came back to my Alor.org file and Word said that it could not open it. I was going to save it then to a USB. I tried the recommendations on the net for what to do; nothing worked, for some suggestions I did not even have the icons on my lap top! The lesson is don’t trust these blasted things. Give me the old days of paper any day!
