From Gun Banning to Knife Banning By John Steele
In the aftermath of the mass stabbing at the Bondi Junction shopping Centre, and knife attack upon Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel, at the Christ the Good Shephard Church in Wakeley, the NSW premier has said that tightening knife laws will be investigated. This is the usual diversion tactic from the Left, of blaming the weapon, not the person, especially if that person is an Islamic terrorist. And as well, the agenda of the Left, and globalists from the conservative Right, has been to disarm the population for social control, and these elites seize upon these disasters to use to the full.
So, what would be involved in tightening knife laws, or what do the elites want to ban? The attacker in the Church incident had already had a run-in with the law in November 2023 over illegal possession of a switchblade. But the attacker got a pass for good behaviour, which certainly did not last long! In any case, knife laws are tough already, and there is not much else that can be done except ban all steel knives. And that will not work. There are millions of knives in Australia, and not are registered unlike guns. They cannot be controlled because knives can be made easily from bits of steel.
Matt Easton UK sword and knife expert (YouTube, "Size Does Not Matter with Thrusting Weapons,"), has been fighting the present UK proposed restrictions on all matter of blades, which will make collecting impossible. He makes the point that most blade offences are committed with common kitchen knives. To be deadly in stabbing, a knife only needs a blade of four inches and most kitchen knives are at least six to nine inches:

Matt Easton says that there are tens of millions of these knives in the UK, and certainly millions in Australia, so banning will achieve nothing.
Further to all this, if someone is going to murder a person using a knife, then issues about having an illegal weapon are the last of their concerns, and what applies to gun crimes, applies to knife crimes as well:

Thus, the proposed get tough on knives measure will only result in more restrictions upon knife collectors, such as stopping knife imports, and this will impact upon a lot of small businesses, and even knife manufacturers in this country. If this measure is likely to be implemented, we need to strongly oppose it.
