Existential Threats: Too Smart for Our Own Good By Brian Simpson
While a feeding frenzy is being beat up about the illusion of climate change, there are still existential threats that humanity faces that are not being publicly examined because of all the hot air. Like asteroid strikes:

“The chief of NASA has warned that the threat of an asteroid impact is all too real. During a conference on the matter of planetary defense, he called for funding and working plans to stop killer asteroids from hitting the U.S. and the rest of Earth. Jim Bridenstine was one of the speakers at the 2019 Planetary Defense Conference. He brought up the critical need for the U.S. to develop credible defenses against asteroids and other cosmic impacts. Without a working planetary defense system, the Chelyabinsk meteor incident of 2013 might repeat itself in the future, potentially over U.S. soil. During the meeting, NASA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and other organizations agreed to hold a planetary defense drill. They considered the potential effects of an asteroid as it approached Earth. “We have to make sure that people understand that this is not about Hollywood, it’s not about the movies,” stated Bridenstine. “This is about ultimately protecting the only planet we know, right now, to host life and that is the planet Earth.”

The problem is that the smaller asteroids are likely to zip by observations until to is too late. While not taking down the planet, these small fast-moving rocks could take out a city, like the City of London, New York, or LA. The very same argument has been raised about the even more threatening EMP strikes, if not by hostiles, than from the sun, which could fry technological society. This weakness of so-called smart societies, has led Mike Adams to speculate that such cultures are more likely to destroy themselves, having not only greater means of doing so, but becoming socially dependent upon technologies that are ultimately vulnerable.

There is a great concern about drop pin IQ rates, a big thing with people like American Renaissance (Asians are so much smarter than us fame). Yet, following Mike Adam’s argument, sheer IQ levels are no protection against collapse, and probably a more robust survivalist street wisdom is what will get one through the coming collapse, not nerdish STEM with ultra-thin arms and a large bloated guts, and clogged-up arteries.

In fact, for the IQ fetish folk, there is no reason why a transhuman position, embracing the replacement of humans, even the heroes of American Renaissance, by thinking machines, smarter than humans should not be embraced. If all that counts is sheer IQ, then why not, as they are smarter than us?
