Dutch Climate Change Police and the Coming Civil War By Richard Miller (London)

I mentioned the incident of Dutch cops firing live rounds at protesting farmers in a previous blog, but did not go into details of the significance of this. Clearly this is an escalation tactic, to show that they mean business and to give the ultimate intimidation. It clearly shows that the police are not here to serve and protect the ordinary people, but act as agents of control, as was shown in the Covid mandates, where their brutality across jurisdiction was appalling. There is no justification for using live rounds against unarmed protesters, and as a strategy, it will ultimately “back fire.” Manure and tractors will win at the end of the day, unless it goes down to tanks and air strikes. But, that would be even worse optics.

“Police in The Netherlands fired gunshots at Dutch farmers who were protesting the implementation of EU-based climate rules on the emissions of nitrogen that threaten the livelihoods of thousands.

On Tuesday evening, police fired what they said were warning and “targeted” shots at a farmer’s protest in Heerenveen in the north of the country. The Friesland police claimed a “threatening situation” had ensued after protesters allegedly tried to drive through the line of police and law enforcement vehicles, necessitating the use of firearms.

The incident, footage of which was widely shared on social media, did not result in any injuries, though three protesters were arrested and one tractor was hit with a bullet, the local De Telegraaf newspaper reported.

The National Criminal Investigation Service (Rijksrecherch) said that an investigation into the incident will be conducted as a result of officers discharging their weapons.

The use of force by the police was condemned by the Farmers’ protest group Agractie, which questioned if “people had to die first” before the government comes to the table to negotiate with the farmers, adding that the situation could have turned out much worse.

ACP police union representative Maarten Brink said that it was unclear from the footage posted on social media what had necessitated the firing of gunshots, saying police officers “never just grab” their weapons without reason.

At the heart of the dispute and the protest is the decision of the left-wing coalition government of Prime Minister Mark Rutte to impose green agenda standards laid out by the European Commission.

Under the EU’s Natura 2000 network, which designates vulnerable habitats for both animals and plants, the bloc mandates that the 27 member states “must ensure that the sites are managed in a sustainable manner, both ecologically and economically.”

In order to fulfil that mandate, the Dutch government has announced plans to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions produced by livestock by 50 per cent by 2030. Last month, the government described the move as an “unavoidable transition,” saying that it will seek to reduce emissions close to protected areas by between 70 and 95 per cent. It has been estimated that as much as 30 per cent of livestock farms could be shut down.

The Dutch farmers, for their part, have claimed that other EU nations are not acting as zealously to fulfil the requirements and therefore they are being put at an unfair disadvantage. Agriculture plays a key role in the economy of The Netherlands, with the LTO national farming lobbying group estimating the industry accounts for 54,000 businesses throughout the country and produced 94.5 billion euros in exports in 2019.

The protests, in which large tractors have been used to shut down roads and other key areas of infrastructure, have not only led to clashes with police but have also resulted in food shortages at supermarkets across the country at a time in which inflation and food prices have already been soaring due to the aftermath of COVID lockdowns and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a major food supplier.

On Wednesday, the protests continued, with farmers deploying their tractors to Groningen Airport.”

Predictions have been made from this banning of farming that this is a prelude to civil war. Certainly, the first shots have already been fired.

“One of the many assurances we are given by our corporate overlords and their minions in the liberal press is that we should be more like Europe. By that they mean we should accept a social welfare nanny state and surrender our rights to our betters in the elite. The Dutch don’t seem to have gotten that memo.

About a week ago the government of the Netherlands announced it was declaring war on the nation’s farmers.  In order to reduce what it considers nitrogen pollution the government has adopted a policy of drastically reducing herds, forcing many farmers out of business and cutting back on meat, pork, poultry, and dairy products for human consumption. The government wants to eliminate one-third of Holland’s 50,000 farms by 2030.

In response, all hell has broken loose.

Dutch farmers have blocked supermarkets, food distribution centers, and roads in protests this week.  Supermarket shelves are bare throughout the Netherlands as food distribution has been brought to a standstill. Wednesday morning, farmers are expected to demonstrate at the Groningen Airport Elde, according to Dutch media. The farmers have been joined now by Dutch fishermen who are blockading ports in solidarity.

On Monday farmers appeared at the home of the Nature and Nitrogen Minister Van der Wal-Zeggelink. Hay was burned, fireworks were set off and a police car was pushed out of the way so tractors could enter the street. Farmers also emptied a tanker containing slurried manure into the roadway. Police were apparently unable to disperse the assembled farmers due to the size of the protest.

Farmers also protested in the Netherlands’ political capital, The Hague, where two cows were brought to participate in the protests as well. Prime Minister Mark Rutte called the actions “unacceptable and out of proportion” and condemned the farmers’ actions. He has characterized the massive protests as the actions of a small minority and demanded they stop. His comments have been echoed by other members of his administration.

Last night things escalated further. Dutch police fired shots at protesting farmers. According to the police they were being threatened by the farmers. They claim the farmers were attempting to push past a checkpoint and roadblock onto a highway in the province of Friesland and started to drive their tractors onto police officers and their vehicles. Video from the scene does not appear to confirm this version of the facts.

According to the Dutch police, their shots hit a tractor and no one was injured. Three individuals were arrested. The Rijksrecherche, the Dutch government's internal investigator, said it would look into the events as required when police discharge their weapons.

Events seem to be about to take another ominous step. A sixteen-year-old boy is being held in custody after participating in the blockade of a distribution center. The Farmers Defense Force, an organization involved in mobilizing farmers for protests, is now calling on farmers from all over the country to converge on the location where the boy is being held and secure his release.

Footage coming out of the Netherlands right now shows farmers setting fires on major roads to stop traffic and fighting in the streets between Dutch police and individuals supporting the farmers.

What is happening in the Netherlands is not minor. It is not transitory. Battle lines are being drawn between people who want to control their own lives and retain their personal freedom and the powerful, worldwide “elitists” who believe they should rule and everyone else should shut up and obey. The Dutch have had enough and they are taking to the streets to resist this globalist agenda.

Things are dangerously close to escalating past road blockades and supply disruptions to major violence in the streets.”
