Dr Nick Coatsworth Strikes Out at the Draconian Covid Mandate Rules By Brian Simpson

Nick Coatsworth has been a strong critic of the Covid lockdowns, one of the few high-profile medical professionals to take a stand. It is remarkable how little courage medicos have had about this, not only being fearful of being deregistered, as is the move against Covid medical critics in the US, but probably because most garden grub variety GPs just accept anything for a quiet life. So, how about this tweet from Dr Coatsworth to make up for the utter failure of nerve of his colleagues: “We locked down our society, stopped children attending school, closed playgrounds, fined the least fortunate, separated families, created a mental illness, all in the name of protecting our most vulnerable, yet for some it will never be enough. When will the moralising stop?”

“Former deputy chief health officer Dr Nick Coatsworth has taken a swipe at draconian Covid rules that forced schools to close to stop the spread of Covid-19.

Dr Coatsworth took to Twitter this week, amplifying a scathing thread by Professor Francois Balloux, who was critical about extended school closures, that he blamed politicians, journalists and so-called 'experts' for.

The director of the UCL Genetics Institute wrote: 'At the risk of annoying everyone, extended school closures happened because:

  1. Some in society believed it was a price worth paying
  2. Some journalists believed this is what their audience wanted to hear
  3. Some politicians believed it was popular
  4. Some 'experts' pushed for it.'

Another Twitter user added a fifth reason to the list.

'I'd add: '5. Kids were seen as nothing else than vectors of disease,' they said, with Dr Coatsworth 'liking' the message.

The infectious disease physician has been publicly critical of other experts who called for school students to remain home and be subject to strict mask rules.

During a surge in Omicron cases in January, he criticised doctors who said students should remain home as the first weeks of the school year approached.

Professor Kerryn Phelps, a doctor and former Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney, posted a video on her social media warning parents not to send their kids to school.

'As a doctor, this really disturbs me,' she said after it was announced in-person classes in NSW would resume in January. 'Sending children back to the classroom in the peak of a pandemic makes absolutely no sense.'

'Ignore this individual,' Dr Coatsworth replied in a blunt dismissal of her position.

The outspoken physician said the priority must be keeping schools open and not further stunting the educational growth of Australia's children.

'The starting point is keeping children at school and starting the term as plan. All subsequent actions flow from that,' he said earlier this year.

'Hybrid learning or remote learning needs to be resisted by Australian parents. There is no justification for it.'

Dr Coatsworth has hit out at rules requiring primary school students to wear masks in Victorian classrooms, previously explaining disease was mild in these age groups.

He said the virus spread 'far more readily' in adults and that the data did not prove masks were particularly effective at protecting children under 11 from Covid.

Earlier this month, the doctor took to Twitter to slam those continuing to demand more Covid rules and said some restrictions had done more bad than good.

'We locked down our society, stopped children attending school, closed playgrounds, fined the least fortunate, separated families, created a mental illness, all in the name of protecting our most vulnerable, yet for some it will never be enough. When will the moralising stop?' Dr Coatsworth wrote.”

My guess is that the moralising will not stop as the Covid plandemic for the lower feeding elites has given these petty tyrants considerable power and they have enjoyed torturing fellow citizens.  YouTube used to have numerous videos illustrating this, Aussie Cossack has been taken down, but not, it seems for Covid reasons.
