Communal Narcissism and the Left’s Silence on mRNA Risks, By Brian Simpson

The progressive Left's selective outrage, railing against perceived moral wrongs like racism while remaining conspicuously silent on issues like China's alleged forced organ harvesting and the unchecked push for mRNA vaccine technologies, as discussed by Chris Knight today, reflects a deeper psychological dynamic: communal narcissism. As outlined in Aporia Magazine's July 4, 2025, article by Bert Parlee and Keith Thompson, communal narcissism drives much of the Left's ideology, characterised by a quest for moral superiority through performative compassion. The following discussion connects communal narcissism to the Left's failure to scrutinise the 2025 Global Vaccine Forum's mRNA agenda, as discussed by Chris Knight, arguing that this selective blindness exemplifies Alfred North Whitehead's concept of "misplaced concreteness," mistaking abstract ideals for tangible reality. By choosing validation over evidence, the Left ignores over 700 peer-reviewed studies warning of mRNA risks, revealing a hypocrisy rooted in psychological and ideological flaws.

Communal narcissism, as defined by Jochen Gebauer's 2012 Journal of Personality and Social Psychology paper, describes individuals who seek validation through perceived contributions to social groups, claiming to be the most helpful or virtuous. Unlike overt narcissists, who boast of personal achievements, communal narcissists cloak themselves in compassion, yet share the same need for affirmation. Ekin Ok's research highlights their entitlement and sensitivity to criticism, traits evident in the progressive Left's dogmatic advocacy for social justice.

The Aporia article illustrates this through examples like "Blackout Tuesday" in 2020, where celebrities posted black squares online to protest "racial injustice" without substantive action, earning praise for moral posturing. At its extreme, communal narcissism justifies violence, e.g., BLM riots or attacks on Trump supporters, while selective compassion is evident in the Left's silence on the murders of peace activists Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, revealing a gap between their benevolent self-image and ideological purity. This mirrors the Left's "long march through the institutions," where demands for systemic change often choose validation over practical outcomes, as Thomas Sowell critiques in The Vision of the Anointed.

Timur Kuran's concept of "preference falsification" explains how communal narcissists adopt politically correct narratives, like open borders or defunding the police, despite private scepticism, driven by a need for moral approval. Carl Jung's 1957 warning of "collective possession" fuelled by "utopian delusions" resonates here, as chants like "no human is illegal" reflect an emotionality immune to reason. Whitehead's "misplaced concreteness," mistaking abstract ideals (e.g., universal equity) for concrete reality, perfectly captures this mindset, where the Left's obsession with moral purity blinds it to evidence contradicting its narrative.

The 2025 Global Vaccine Forum in Seoul, detailed by Nicolas Hulscher, MPH, on July 4, 2025, showcased a coordinated push to expand mRNA technologies. Hosted by the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) and Korea's CDC (KDCA), the forum featured:

Self-Amplifying mRNA (saRNA): Promoted by Gennova Biopharmaceuticals' Sanjay Singh, saRNA replicates within cells, raising risks of uncontrolled protein production (Journal of Virology, 2025).

Microneedle Patches (MAPs): Backed by the Gates Foundation, MAPs enable unmonitored delivery, with quantum dots for vaccination tracking, raising privacy concerns.

AI-Engineered Vaccines: Moderna's Robert Paris and others pushed AI-designed shots, merging synthetic biology to create vaccines in days, bypassing long-term safety testing.

Mobile Factories: CEPI's "DeCAFx" units aim for rapid, global mRNA production, potentially evading regulatory oversight.

Despite over 700 peer-reviewed studies documenting mRNA risks, myocarditis, neurological issues, biodistribution to vital organs, and DNA integration, as Knight notes, the forum ignored these concerns, prioritising speed and scale. For example, a 2023 Nature study flagged reproductive toxicity, while a 2024 Lancet paper noted increased inflammatory markers post-vaccination.

The Left's failure to scrutinise the mRNA agenda parallels its silence on China's organ harvesting, discussed by James Reed today, reflecting communal narcissism's need for moral validation over evidence. Several factors, expanding upon Chris' points, explain this:

1.Ideological Alignment: The Left views mRNA vaccines as progressive science, aligning with globalist institutions like CEPI and the Gates Foundation. Criticising them risks undermining the "greater good" narrative, a hallmark of communal narcissism's self-perceived virtue.

2.Media Complicity: Pharmaceutical funding of media, as revealed in a 2023 Guardian investigation, suppresses critical coverage. The Left, quick to decry corporate greed elsewhere, overlooks Big Pharma's influence, mistaking mRNA's promise for proven safety.

3.Preference Falsification: Communal narcissists adopt the narrative that mRNA is a universal solution, ignoring such studies. The mRNA agenda is a global push for genetic manipulation, driven by profit and power, yet the Left's communal narcissism, mistaking performative compassion for substantive action, blinds it to these risks, much like its selective outrage over other issues.

By demanding transparency, amplifying dissenting voices, strengthening oversight, challenging ideological consistency, and investigating global networks, we can value human safety over corporate agendas and restore a commitment to truth and justice.
